Can't modify user's attributes by the Delegated Administrator

Hi, I've installed the JES05Q1 on Sun Fire V480. The components are Directory Server�AAccess Manager�APortal Server�AMessaging Server�AWeb Server�ADelegated Administrator. After I adding a user by DA,assigning a service package to the user, I can use it to logon the web mail and sending mail.But I can't modify it's attributes using DA. It said �goperation failed" . I found the error message "Error during user update: Service not assigned" in the log file of DA ,

Thanks for the suggestion. But, the data (field) that can be modified by the approver is very limited. We cannot attach multi-valued attribute there (like Child Form).

Changing user profile attributes via the admin console

Hi all,
I created my own login module (like the existing Membership module) which
extends the Login class. It works just fine, and can create user profiles
and allow people to log in. When I log into the admin console and try to
bring up the user profile to edit the attributes for this module [Manage
Domains->(domain)->(role)->Users->(user)->Authentication(authentication
module)] it displays an error stating 'This profile contains no data which
can be administered.' It also does this when I create a user via the admin
console. I know the profile exists (the user can log in, and doing a
'ipsadmin get user (user)' produces the profile). In the login module XML,
all the necessary attributes are set as "userConfigurable=TRUE" with the
right privileges. Looking at the Membership module as a template, I saw it
puts a configuration file in the '/opt/SUNWips/locale' directory which is
used apparently for editing the profiles created by this module. I made a
similar one for my module, but the same error occurs. Does anyone know what
I am failing to do?

Hi,
After creating your own Authentication module You have to import your "iwtAuth[NewModule].xml" to the profile server.
You can find a sample file for Membership module
" iwtAuthMembership.xml" at "/etc/opt/SUNWips/xml".
Modify "iwtAuthMembership " in the above xml file with "iwtAuth[NewModule] "and import the
"iwtAuth[NewModule] .xml" using
# ipsadmin -import iwtAuthNewLogin.xml
and restart the server.

Can't modify users via commadmin or DA after adding services

after adding the following services
Authentication Configuration
Instant Messaging Service
Presence Service
i cannot modify users via commadmin (string index error -6) or via the DA (save operation failed) nothing in the slapd logs (error or access) - after removing these services i can modify via the DA.
is this a known bug (or a feature?).
after modifying, i can re add the services and proceed as normal.

you can try what worked for me:
remove services from user (in amconsole web app http://jes-server/amconsole) -
login as admin, search specific user, see their services, remove them -
run your commadmin command - it should work now
re-add the removed services.

I can't uncheck "leave all attributes" in the precompose window

Hi guys, I can't uncheck "leave all attributes" box in the pre-compose window. even after I double check it, I check the other option, I've tried with Crtl+Click over the check box, and so on and nothing works cause the option remains checked.
Somebody knows what would be the reason, is it a Bug or a Program Feature?. I use After Effects CS3 8.0.0.298

Adolfo: I’ve did it and the precomposition “Leave all the attributes*” but never “Move all the attributes” what is exactly what I want to do now..
Mylenium: Now I’m back with the first problem: I can’t uncheck “Leave all attributes in*…” cause it appears already selected. BTW That was the last option that I had selected by the moment when this bug ran therefore I’m 100% sure that this is a bug problem. As you said, it’s impossible to leave both option selected, it doesn’t make any sense at all.
I made the same project with the same picture because all of the sudden "Leave all atributtes" just freezes out. As you can see the problem comes sometimes with “Leave” sometimes with “Move”, all depends on which was the last option that I had selected by that moment.
Now is "Leave" the one who doesn't want to leave (If I can allow me a wordplay cause I'm about to cry, )
Then when I want to just select "Move", "Leave" just still selected.
What would it be?
Now, since I’m pretty sure that this is a bug, I know that I can fool it by forcing the program to leave unavailable one option with a "whatever" move, therefore the other option will be the preselected option the next time so I would be able to do my selection right. I can unavailable " Leave" by just select 2 layers, but...
What could I do to leave "Move" unavailable?.

I can't see some collection attributes in the DSAME

Hi, this is the problem: i want to edit some collection type attributes like channelsHasFrame, channelsRow, channelsColumn... in a Container with the DSAME but the attributes didn't appears, if I try to create them, the DSAME warn me that all ready exists. The advance property for the attributes in the display profile has a false value. Why the attributes aren't displayed in the DSAME?

That's the point I'm trying to tell. Account works weirdly. I bought so many apps with this id and I'm having a problem with some free apps. Free apps also have to appear on every account's purchases tabs (I tried with my friend's account on his MBP and it works as it has to be) but in my account don't. I'm using only one id on my computer and there is no chance to mixing up. I'm having this problem almost more than 1 year. I completely lost my Garageband, iMovie and iPhoto and I can't get them back to my account's purchases tab even I install them from store...

Where can I change the Delegated Administrator info?

During Messenger Install (v 5.1), is asked for the hostname and port where delegated administrator would be installed. Now I want to use a different host - where do I change that information?

in your <server root>/ndacli/lib directory there should be a cli-usrprefs.properties file. In that file you will find the locations for the NDA server which you can just edit and change to your new NDA server.

How can I add a custom attribute to the create page dialog?

I followed the following link to add a custom attribute called starred and this attaribute can be displayed in siteadmin grid

I am working in windows 7 and I am trying to enable the copy/paste and I can not find user.j file in the profile and I am not real sure how to create a file, I can create a folder .

I am trying to copy text from a word document and paste it into my web builder and it says that firefox does not support copy/paste from clipboard. Went to your site and it tells me to open the user.j file in my profile. This file does not exist and I am not real sure how to create that file so I can paste the fix from your site into it.

I went to that link and added to firefox add on but it still does not work. I went to the add on option button for this but it told me that my MYSIWG widget was disabled. Does this have something to do with it not working and if so how do you enable it.

Why can't set webBean's attribute in the processFormRequest

I find if selecting OADeveloperMode, We can't use setAttribute() method in the processFormRequest.
But, if not selecting it, We can just use setAttribute() to set the webBean's attribute.
It's so puzzle. Who can explain it to me why is it.

Can't "see" User account name in the GUI anymore ...

    Using WS2012 I created user account in AD. I right clicked a user account and chose "Move".
    The problem is my finger slipped and hit other keys.
    Now I can't see the user account anymore.
    When I run the following command:
        get-aduser -filter 'Name -like "user1"' I get the results below:
            DistinguishedName : CN=user1,DC=<DomainName>,DC=<SomeName>,DC=us
    The problem is how can I "see" what folder name, OU or the group's name that user1 resides at in
the GUI?

If I understand well, you were able to get the user DN. Based on the name, the user account should be directly under your domain (Not under an OU or a Container). So, use ADUC and select your domain. Once done, you should be able to see the user account.

How Can I Modify an Existing Schedule using the WS-SDK?

I'm trying to modify the scheduling info of a pre-existing schedule. I've got the schedule details from the database and modifying them, and then called BIPlatform.Schedule with the modified infoObject. However what it does is create a new schedule with the new schedule details, leaving the old one unchanged. Is it possible to modify the old instance, or do I need to delete the old instance andjust create a new one?

How can I modify supplied WP template & keep the changeable fields eg date

Sorry couldn't find any details on this. If I use one of the supplied 'letter' templates - it includes a date field which is created when I create document. If I modify the rest of this template and then save it as a template - I lose this automatic date insertion facility.
Also is there a method of automatically inserting the document name into the 'insert filename' field when the file is saved?
Has anybody written a guide on advanced template design?

It seems that the OP is facing a behaviour which was described several times.
In some Apple delivered templates, is a date field which grabs the current date when we create a new document.
This date remains as is whe we re-open the saved document some days after.
If we create a template, we may insert a date and ask it to update when re-opening the document.
If we save such a document as a template, it will apply the creation setting so, when we use it to create a document the date of this new document will continue to change on opening which is annoying.
Getting the behaviour of the Apple delivered template requires a bit of surgery in the Index.xml file of the custom template.
This trick was described several times in a Pages forum.
A quick search with the keystring *_template AND date AND index.xml_* brought the dedicated messages to the surface (of course I enlarged the time range to search to All).

I can't modify my addons, neither delete the old ones I don't use, nor install new ones.

I've tried everything in the help section but none of it really describes my problem. I install the addons, it says I should restart Firefox, which I do, and afterwards there's no change. The only thing I've been able to succesfully install is personas.

Do the add-ons you installed appear in the Add-ons > Extensions Tab = {Ctrl + Shft + A} ??
