Can't move bunch of pictures into albums any more - iPhoto 6.05

I have upgraded to iPhoto 6.05 and also got a new java version and other updates lately and ever since I can't move more than one photo at a time, which is extremely annoying. Has anybody encountered similar problems and found a solution? Thanx in advance, Sheep

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try deleting the Safari preference file, com.apple. Safari.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and see if that will help Safari.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

A photo in the Camera Roll cannot be in an album unless the photo remains in the Camera Roll. Photos in an album or not duplicated. A photo in an album includes a pointer to the original photo stored in the Camera Roll. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos/videos can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
The Camera Roll is included with your iPhone's backup. If your iPhone's backup has been updated to include all photos that were in the Camera Roll and has not been updated since the photos were deleted, you can try restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup. Do not update your iPhone's backup before doing so and decline the prompt to update your iPhone's backup as the first step after selecting Restore.

Do you want to copy some pictures to the external drive, or do you want to move your whole iPhoto library? The latter will free up hard drive space on your start up disk; the procedure is explained here:

Note this is not the same as a Time Machine backup.
If on the other hand you want to copy some photos from one drive to another, you can just drag and drop them from one location to another. This is a true copy, the originals will remain intact.

Your only hope is to place your phone in to DFU mode and restore it using iTunes (if iTunes allows you to).
Search in Google "Force iPhone in to DFU mode" and follow the instructions precisely.

Unable to move pictures into albums via iPhone

the past few months i have not been able to move pictures from my camera roll into albums via my iphone...the albums show up, but they are not selectable. i have restored my phone, purchaced OS Lion, and have all my software up to date, and still nothing....can anyone help?

You can place a Camera Roll photo in a user created photo album on the iPhone only. You cannot place a Camera Roll photo in an album transferred from your computer. You do that on your computer followed by a sync.

You can't move pictures between albums on the iPad. You must do this on the computer that you sync the albums from.

I need to "cut" a JPG photo into two (or more) irregular shapes, for a graphics project I need in my work.
I'd then want to save each shape as a separate JPG, for manipulating separately.
Can I do this with Photoshop Elements? If so, how and with which tool? The "cutting" should be free-form, so being limited to straight lines would not be a full solution.
I guess this is a kind of "cropping"--though maybe there's a better term, since this doesn't involve selecting a rectangular area within a picture.

Brad, It wasn't clear if you want to cut the picture into pieces jig-saw style so that the whole is the sum of its parts. If so here is one way using Elements 2 (maybe newer versions have ways of doing this more easily). In this example I cut the picture into 3 parts using the Lasso. 1. Select part 1. 2. Select > Save Selection: give the selection a name (e.g., part 1). 3. Copy/paste selection to new layer (Layer 1 in my example). 4. Activate Background layer. 5. Select > Reselect, and invert the selection. 7. Holding down <Alt>, use Lasso to delete all but part 2. 8. Select > Save Selection: give the selection a name (e.g., part 2). 9. Copy/paste selection to new layer (Layer 2 in example). 10. Activate Background layer. 11. Select > Reselect. 12. Select > Load Selection: In the Selection pull-down menu choose part 1 and check the "Add to Selection" box. The selection will now consist of parts 1 & 2. 13. Invert the selection to give part 3 and copy/paste to new layer (Layer 3 in example). The 3 pieces are in separate layers with transparent background. Can apple move the Passcode setting into the Restrictions section ?

I guess this would be an Apple development question. I work for a school district trying to manage many iPads. I can lock down most of the settings I do not want the students to access in the Restrictions area. One major flaw I discovered is the Passcode in Settings. Students are setting a passcode and locking the units which is causing a very frustrating situation for the folks that have to support these (restore the device).
If Apple would move the Passcode setting into the Restrictions area we would be able to lock it down. Does this make sense ?

You can't "move" those apps to your Playbook, BUT you can install most of those same apps on your Playbook.
Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, all have Playbook specific apps. Check AppWorld from your Playbook.

Can a form user enter pictures into a pdf?

Just a new user... I want my inspectors to be able to insert pictures into a description line. Is this possible?

As Kevin suggested it is totally Customization.
In OIM first time while setting QA it brings the question from Lookup but after that it reads from the PCQ table only.
So as you want that User should be able to set his own Questions then no need of any Lookup *(APMK)*. You can build your custom JSP to enter Questions as well as Answers and send these data to PCQ table. It should be in Encrypted Format.
Next time when User Logs in it wil fetch the questions from PCQ table and validate the answers from that. So no need of Question Lookup.
Question Lookup we use because we want to show same questions to everyone and it is configurable and we can change the questions as per client requirement.
In your case your user are entering there own questions.

ok...I think i solved the issue. You have to scaled it first than move the wallpaper. You can not just move it.
This is what I did.
First I turn the phone upside down. Tried moving the wallpaper that way and nothing happned.
Next I turn it right side up again and zoomed in and out.
Then I was able to move the wallpaper.
You don't have to turn the phone upside down to move it. You just need to zoom in than out (go in really close. than see it full view), than move the wallpaper.
If you let the phone go on standby (black screen) while you move the wallpaper you will have to repeat the steps (zoom in and out, than move) again.

What a pain...you must go through all that to remove it?! So many unessary steps!
I also find that when I sync up a new photo folder to replace the old set that I previously wiped out and replaced it staggers afew pictures from before in with the new and will not show all of the new....so frustrating!!! I even close out iPhoto and go into the photo album and all the photos that synced up which are the ones I do want are all there....it's so different than what I see the album in iPhoto. Why Apple WHY??
