Can't move large sized video files to flash drive without changing to mac extended

I recently got 46 inch series 8000 smart tv. And today i bough a 16 gig hard drive so i could transfer my movie files to watch on the tv. Before tryin a large size movie i put a 756mb and it worked fine.. i then tried to put a 5 gig movie on the drive and i had an error that said it was to large for the volume. So i changed the ms-dos-(FAT) to the mac extended under disk utility. Now when i connect the flash drive to the tv it doesnt read it or pick it up.. Any help appreciated

How is the flash drive formatted? NTFS? HFS?

I have a 60 GB video iPod and a MacBook with a 120 GB hard drive. I have 9 GB of TV show files that I'd like to keep but I don't need them on my hard drive because I doubt that I'd watch them again anytime soon (the packrat in me won't let me just delete files that I paid for at the iTunes store). Can I just copy the folder for that show to an external hard drive and delete it from my MacBook? and import it back into the library if I wanted to watch it at some time in the future?

I have implemented streaming an audio or video files by mpmovieplayer from Dropbox. For this purpose I am using Dropbox sdk. Audio or video files are playing with no problem from dropbox in my app.
But, I can not implement the same functionality from Google drive. I am using alternateLink,webcontentLink,EmbedLink,Exportlink that we get from google drive. But mpmovieplayer does not play audio or video. So how can get any link from google drive,by which i can streaming an audio or video file from google drive. I have listed all google drive files in a table view. I am using google api objective-c client. So please help me. Thanks in advance.

I understand that you're working on a way to help moving back files to google drive. Actually, I can copy / paste, but it always renames the files, so I end up with both a "copy of" and my original file.
could you save and overwite the original file when it already exists ? (perhaps an option in the settings) ?

Hi, do you know if this works if I then want to move my library to a new computer as that is my main intention bacause my old computer hasn't got enough space for me to add new albums so I want to ditch the computer (its got to be about 100 years old and doesn't seem to cope well with modern technology!!) and start using my laptop for my iTunes. I am at the point now where i'm ready to throw both my computer and iPod out the window!!!! I might point out as well that in trying to clear space on my computer I accidently deleted the Bonjour programme which is aparently needed to use the home share option, oops!!!!

In addition to file format, video codec matters. The iPhone can only play videos encoded with H.264. If you import the .mov or .mp4 file into iTunes, you can select the file then Advanced menu > Create iPod or iPhone Version, and try uploading the converted file to your FTP site.

Did the back and forth between PC and Mac file systems screw up my files somehow?
Yes. Unfortunately the move has almost certainly caused the loss of the resource data that would have been (invisibly) attached to those files.
By adding a specific .mov extension after the fact you will have helped the Mac correctly identify the file type / asscoiations but also significantly you will have physically changed the filename eg from "clip" to "clip.mov". This means that when you come to reconnect the media in FCP , then FCP will be looking for files that no longer exist at the given path eg when specifically looking for our example clip called "clip" of course it won't find it.
Try this as a test... first remove the ".mov" extension from one or more of the clips, select those clips and press Cmd-Opt-I to open an Info window for the selection. You'll see an "Open with:" popup and in that popup you should choose QuickTime Player (if its a Unix Executable then it will initially list Terminal as the appropriate app, you have to choose Other... then in the open dialog choose Enable > All Applications and then navigate to and select the Quicktime Player app as the appropriate app). After you've done that restart FCP and see if you can now reconnect to those clips.

i met this error every time if i compile a "BIG " project.（with 1G+ image resources）.   And also ,if you import 500+ images into Flash CS ...you know ,its prefix is "Adobe".
i guess , it's because somebody not like "BIG " thing.
So..on 32bit windows platform ..i upgrade my JVM to 1.7 ,and..modified -XSS value . it will help us ..but not 100% resolved.
Finally ,i upgrade to 64bit platform ..this problem seems gone.
I think ,it's because of the bad RAM Manager of JVM. on 32bit windows machine .it's only can manager 1024M ram .(such a stupid VM).   And on 64bit platform ..JVM seems to be d normal.

Sorry, there is no way to move that file out of the Profile folder, or specify a different location for it, built into Firefox.
One extension that might be able to help you do that is Pike's Bookmark Backup extension. BB allows you to specify which files are backed-up and where those backup files are saved. It also has a backup interval setting, IIRC. <br />

I guess this is what I want to do. I have jillions of photos that were transferred in a Windows version of photoshop (many different versions) plus some that were transferred from my iPhone and also in Nikon Transfer (before I started using Photoshop). Then I got the brilliant idea that I wanted to start using Mac for all of my photo projects and I'm dead in the water right now because I can't figure out how to move all of these Windows based filed to the new Mac - especial since the I have a current mac version of Photoshop and the Windows version that I have is older. Can't open a .mts video file

I used to be able to open any video file just by double clicking on it's icon, usually opens MPEG Streamclip if it isn't supported by Quicktime. However, now I can't open a .mts video because it says I need MPEG 2 - Playback Component installed. I used to have that but it's disappeared for some reason. The "View as icon" option shrinks the photo to an icon in the sender's Apple Mail, but how it appears to the recipient varies dependingy on what e-mail client he/she uses.
Using Apple Mail 5.0 (the Lion version) at both ends, the sender can use the "View as icon" option to shrink his view of the photo to an icon, but the recipient also using Apple Mail 5.0 still sees the full photo in line with the message text. The recipient can then use the "View as icon" option to shrink it to an icon, but I don't think that's not what jackofarabia is looking for.
As far as I know there is no way in the current Apple Mail to do what jackofarabia wants. There should be, but there isn't.

Can I move just music to an external hard drive?

I'm trying to set up our home network so that everyone can access our large music library through a hard drive attached to apple extreme, but manage all of their other iTunes media files (apps, podcasts, etc) on their own devices. Is it possible for iTunes to have this type of split personality?

Um, it could be set up, but not easily, and might be fragile to somebody doing the wrong thing.

As far as I know edge is always going to create that whole set of files. that's just the way it works. You had said that your problem stemmed from the fact that you had a lot of these animations or what you called "flashcards" and you didn't want to have to upload a whole set of project files for each card. right?? My suggestion was just a way to package all your "flashcard" animations into a single edge project so you only have to upload a single set of files for all your "flashcards" . that said, not knowing what your application is or the way the user interacts with the cards this approach might not work for you at all. But I don't think there is a single file (like a swf) solution for edge projects.
