Can't move MP3's from Real Player into ITunes

i'm not sure how it has happened but my 'Real Player' music files & MP3's no longer automatically launch into I-Tunes. It looks as though ITunes is no longer my default player but when i try to rectify this i get a message saying "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio. You do not have enough access priveliges for this operation" !!! (This comes as a surprise as it is my computer!!!).
I don't remember changing anything other than instaling LastFM recently (this has now been uninstalled).
Any ideas what i can to make Itunes my default player again?

LastFM probably changed the settings on you. As is often the case, uninstalling doesn't remove/reset everything associated with the file.
Have you tried changing the association manually or just with iTunes?

You could drag your files to your macbook air's desktop then plug in you iPad...? I don't really know about this as i don't have a iPad. =S

I can no longer drag music from my computer into iTunes.

I updated iTunes to the most recent download and installed the newest update on my iPhone 4. Now I can no longer drag music from my PC into iTunes. Not even into a new playlist. None of my settings changed. Please help.

Try
- Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, that may not work and you will have to wait for an iPod or iTunes update.

Can not get a video from my PC into iTunes.

I can't seem to get my video from my PC into iTunes, so I can play them on my iPad. I've tried adding from the library....nothing. I've tried dragging and dropping into iTunes directly from the folder....nothing. Am I over looking something? Please help.

I have an iPad 1 and when I wanted to put a couple of movies on my iPad I found that it would not import them until I reformatted the video from the .AVI they were in to the apple MP4 format and afterward iTunes imported them and I ran the Sync to iPad function and they went right on without any problems.
Hope this helps as Apple doesn't seem to want or care about supporting the iPad 1's. wouldn't have spent the money then if I would have know this would happen since my iPad is not quite 2 years old. I have a 5 year old Dell laptop and they still give total support for it and I paid much less for it !

HI. I recently upgraded to iTunes 10 and now, it won't let me drag and drop files from Windows explorer into iTunes. Is there a setting I need to turn on to get this to work again? I am running Vista.

I know Microsoft Office 2011 is Mountain Lion compatible. In fact, Microsoft released updates to it right around the time of Mountain Lion's release to assure compatibility.
I do not believe Microsoft Office 2008 is Mountain Lion compatible.

Can't get song"s from real player

I have a lot of songs saved in real player but since I added the Ipod Shuffle it won't even open. how can i get these songs onto my Ipod shuffle?

I would first check and see what the format of the Real Audio songs are. If they are in RAM format, they will ONLY work with Real Player. You need them to be in MP3 format. That could be your problem. There are some converters out there that make RAM files MP3's but they cost a lot. You could try the poor mans way by playing the RAM or Real Audio song while you record it in MP3 format. Then the iPod can read it.
You would need a plug jumper from line out to line in. Then you would need a MP3 recorder like Sound Forge or another product that would allow you to record and save it in MP3 format. Hope that helps.

How can I move mp3 files from trash to iTunes?

I accidently moved a group of MP3 files (songs) from my iTunes to the trash. After doing a little research, I saw the suggestion of creating a folder on my desktop and dragging them from the trash to the new desktop folder. So, I did that, and as far as I can tell, the songs are all there, sitting in the folder. But when I tried to drag the songs from the desktop folder to iTunes, I got this message:
"Attempting to copy the disk Macintosh HD failed. You do not have enough access privaleges for this operation."
This makes no sense to me. This is my private computer so I should have all the privaleges I need to do anything, right? And I'm not trying to copy the "disk Macintosh HD", right?
Anyway, can you help me move the songs back into iTunes--or to the podcast so I can then move them to iTunes? FYI, the songs have names like, "download 124.mp3" and the Kind is "mp3 Audio." I originally got these songs via a podcast from a radio station (KCRW). I have iTunes 11.1.1.

Thanks! I did that and the songs are now back in my iTunes. Some of the songs went back to the podcast and some went to the playlist.
UNFORTUNATELY, the songs did some sort of massive duplicating so that there are now over 100 duplicates of every episode/song (the podcast now has almost 36,000 episodes/songs and the playlist now has over 24,000 episodes/songs), and iTunes is viery slow/sluggish (spinning beach ball). Can you tell me how to eleminate all of the duplicates?

Moving music from Real Player to ITunes

All my music is in Real Player. I just got my first IPOD and now I need all those songs to be in the ITUNES program. Is there a way to move it without downloading each CD all over again?

There are converter programs available. The problem is that RA is a lossy compression so converting them to something else will only lose more information resulting in even lower sound quality.

Add the song to iTunes on your PC and sync it to your iPhone. It will appear in the Music.app. And you can access it in GarageBand from the Loop Browser and add it to a track as a loop.

MOVING mp3-files from external drive into iTunes automatically

Hi all,
for historical reasons (mainly because I was coming from Windows years ago) I have stored all my mp3-Files (audiobooks, songs, etc) on an external harddrive. My iTunes library is stored on the external drive, too and all media content in my iTunes library is manually linked to the external drive. Today the option iTunes >Setting >"Let iTunes manage your library" ias well as "Copy filed to iTunes Media folders" is UNchecked.
In my iTunes library there is only a subset of all mp3-files included.
Now, I would love to get my library moved to the mac as well as the audio and video-files, and let iTunes manage the storage of the library!
As far as I know once I move the library (manul or automatic) to the Mac and check the option to let iTunes manage the and copy content, then iTunes will COPY the medial files to the Mac.
Given that I have only included a subset of my entire repository in iTunes I will then end up with a mess of mediafiles on my external drive where some are doublicated while others aren't. I will be impossible to figure out afterwards what is included in iTunes and what isn't.
Hence the perfect process would be if iTunes could, while executing the import following the automation-Option (see above) and MOVE the files from the whereever and bring it to the place it want's it to be.
Is there any way to get this automated and get iTunes MOVE the files instad of copying?
That would be a tremendous help!

Putting music from Media Player into iTunes???

So....I just recently bought my Nano. I have lots of songs on my computer (that I put on there from my CDs) in Windows Media Player 10. When I connected to iTunes (to put music on my iPod) some of my previous songs from Media Player were put into iTunes, yet there are still LOTS of songs not in the iTunes Library. And I don't think that they didn't transfer because they are "protected", it has to be something else. I've tried dragging, copying, nothing is 'allowed'. I've gone to about every window, menu, and help/support site in both iTunes and Windows Media Player. This is almost a last resort.

Can't import aac files from external source into itunes

I'm new to mac and am trying to import all the music currently on my nokia phone memory card into itunes on my mac.
It has no problems importing the songs which are m4a files, but it absolutely will not import the .aac files. bizarre as they were created from original cds using itunes on my old pc.
can anyone help? can i alter the import settings to allow this or should i go back to the original cd's again?

How can you move multiple folders at one time into iTunes?

I am trying to add multiple audiobooks for my daughter from my desktop onto iTunes. Is there a way to copy more than one at a time? Thanks.

Suppose you have track 1 filled with clips and gaps.
Drop a color matte or transparant video or what ever, in track 2 and stretch it over the selection of gaps you want to delete.
Select everything in that selection in track 1 and drop it in track 2 on the color matte. Don.t deselect and drop it back into track 1.
Track 2 is now filled with pieces of color matte superimposing the gaps.
Select everything in track 2 and ripple delete.
