Can't move passed the hp welcome screen

I was not on the computer when this happened. By my son said the blue screen of death appeared on the machine so the bright teenager he is shuts the whole thing off without letting me see the message or giving me a chance to fix it.
So I went down to check it out and now the machine won't let me passed the screen of Welcome from HP. No matter what I press, escape, F9 , f11, f10 even a combination of all the F buttons together nothing works. I tried putting in the recovery disk and nothing boots from that either. I have checked cables, etc..
Can anyone think of anything? Honestly it was working fine less then 2 hours ago this just seems messed up.

Hi,
You can try the steps from the link below:
Computer Does Not Start (Windows 7)
Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Just reset tiger but can't get past the first welcome screen

I'm loading up my MacBook Pro after resetting it to factory settings without a disk. It loads up to a welcome screen after a little animation of languages and it says 'to begin select the country or region you're in, then click continue'
But there are no languages to select. The box is empty and obviously I can't continue until I click on something.
Anyone had this issue or is it just me?

Possibly, make sure it's the Retail version though.

  • I can't get past the iWork  welcome screen in iCloud

I have recently bought and installed Pages and Numbers for my iMac and iPhone 4s.  I have an apple id.  I have turned on icloud in system preferences on both my iphone and on my mac and checked everything, including documents and data.  Mail syncs, calendar syncs, find my phone works... but when I click on iWorks in iCloud.com in Safari, all I get is the "learn about" and and "get Pages for ios."  I can't drag documents there as others have talked about.  I did manag soehow to get a pages document on my mac to icloud using iTunes, but darned if I can remember how I did it.
Is it possible to get a pages document to icloud without going through itunes, and how do I do it?
    Thanks,

Winston!  You are my hero!  Here's the story....
I have an original .mac account, migrated to .me whenever that happened.  For what it's worth, both email addys are functional and interchangable, for the most part.  When I migrated to icloud, my mail wouldn't work.  After talking to a techie, we came to the conclusion that I had to sign in with the old .mac account.  Everything icloud is signed in with my .mac account and works... except documents.
So,today I signed in today with the .me extension, and guess what!  Documents works!  I'm used to just putting "jhamlinx2" in the account part and sign in.
Thanks, Winston.  You are a gentleman and  scholar.

Thank you for the answer, I suppose the main thrust of my enquiry is to find out if 65 MBits is my ATV theoretical limit of reception.  If that is the case then I am happy as a Pig in Mud
I may have allowed myself to become a victim by listening to Fanbois posting elsewhere who always seem to go one better than everyone else. Now I have learnt two things Today; 65Mbit/s = Good enough and only read the apple forums.

    Dear Apple,
My father and I recently switched our phones because he needed a better phone for business. I now restored the phone and i can not get passed the screen where i need his Apple ID and Passcode. The problem with this is that it would be easy if i knew the Apple ID and password, but my father does not remember any sort of info about his Apple ID or password! Please help me ASAP! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day for me.
    Sincerely, Paresh

Do not post your personal information on a public thread - not a good idea.
If your father does not remember his Apple ID that he set up iCloud and Find My iPhone with, have him go to: FORGOT APPLE ID to retrieve the Apple ID.
Then follow the prompts to reset the password.
If he doesn't remember the answers to the Security Questions, contact Apple Support to have them reset:

Once you know the Apple ID and the password, you will be able to proceed.

Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  If that doesn't work, you'll need to connect the iPod to your iTunes library in recovery mode using the instructions in the Apple support document below and restore it.

  • Can't get passed the lockscreen after a message

    Hello appreciated iPhone-users,
I am the proud owner of an iPhone 4 (32GB, black) since two weeks now, and overall I am very content about the device. There is still one thing that quite annoys me during using my new iPhone. Sometimes when I get a message (SMS, Ping-message, notification) I can't get passed the lockscreen to view the notification. I just can't drag the drag-bar from the left to the right, it just inmediately moves back to the left of the screen.
Does someone knows what the solution to this very annoying problem is?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    First try restarting your device
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.

  • How to resolve a Lenovo PC that will not pass the Lenovo Splash screen with no access to Windows

Here is my problem and here is the solution!!!
My B540 Ideacentre would not pass the Lenovo splash screen. The only operational keys I had was F1 (BIOS) and F12 (BIOS options). F2 went to a light blue screen so no chance of even a one key recovery. Warrenty had expired four and a half months ago. I contacted Lenovo and after the guy told me to try F2 twice he said it was a HDD or other hardware failure and would cost around £200 maybe and also would take about two weeks.
AT THIS POINT YOU SHOULD NOT BE ANGRY FRUSTRATED OR PANIC. REMAIN CALM AND STOP AND THINK WHAT ACTUALLY WAS HAPPENING WHEN YOU LAST USED YOUR PC.
For me I remembered Windows had auto downloaded 8.1 and was asking me to install. Also my keyboard had lost shift W T Y keys. This told me that it was not a hardware issue but a software issue and perhaps from this update. My HDD was not clicking or beeping and this PC has a 2TB Seagate Barracuda which has a good reputation. Luckly for me I also have a Seagate external expansion 2TB and a 500MB expansion which was the HDD from my old HP Touchsmart which I converted into an external hard drive by buying a HDD enclosure with cooling fan and all leads from eBay for £25 and this is where the solution is.
If you can create an expansion drive so easily and access the HDD then why cant I do it with the HDD from my Ideacentre and of course you can. So first unplug your PC or laptop. Next remove the cover and unclip the HDD (which is easy with the B540. See user instructions). Next I removed my HP HDD from the enclosure and fitted my Ideacentre HDD in its place. Next you need a laptop or another PC. Switch it on and then connect your HDD to the laptop or PC via highspeed USB cable. My laptop is running Windows 7 Ultimate and of course has all the repair tools required. When the software has loaded you may get a box that will have two options. The first will ask you if you want to repair your files and the second to scan for bad sectors and to attempt repair recovery of sectors. Tick both boxes and click start. This is a long slow process but worth the wait. Nine hours later my HDD was ready. I connected my Seagate expansion to my laptop and moved all new files that I had not backed up. So at this point you should create a folder and move all your photos music videos documents etc to it. This can take upto three hours if you have never backed up before and are moving everything. Once completed I shut everything down and replaced the HDD into my Ideacentre. Make sure do not have any external devices connected such as expansions external drives headphones etc. Connect the power and switch on. The Ideacentre booted up and there was a pause at the splash screen then it went to a black screen and then by the miracle of logical thinking I was at my lock screen. I was never so glad to see the map of my home land "Ukraine". After jumping up and down with joy I then went in and all was as normal but to be sure I went into safemode and started a complete restore. This is the option where you completely format your HDD and restore as new. It takes a long time but it is the best option because you do not want this to happen again. When this has completed and you are in Windows do not wait a moment longer by playing with your photos or creating your desktop picture. Go to create a recovery drive (use a 32GB stick) and after that also make a copy to disc. Next go to command prompt (cmd) Admin and change a setting by typing bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy. This will now enable your F8 key to boot straight into safemode just incase you need to in the future. It will slow boot time a little but better to be able to get in to Windows than not at all for the sake of a few seconds.
Well I hope this helps someone out there and I know you may think its a lot to do but it is not. Ask a friend to borrow a laptop or PC and perhaps a HDD encloser. The rest is just time but when you see your lock screen you will not care trust me.
    Cлава Україні!!! Героям слава!!!

I thought this was the method I used before but I followed through it and it was a horrific fail.  "Operating system not found".  Can anyone help?

    Steps To Achieve Victory
Download the ISO you want to use
    Open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities)
Convert .iso to .img using hdiutil:
    hdiutil convert -format UDRW -o /path/to/target.img /path/to/source.iso
Rename if OS X gave it a .dmg ending:
    mv /path/to/target.img.dmg path/to/target.img
Type diskutil to get a list of currently connected devices
Insert USB drive you want to use
Run diskutil again to see what your USB stick gets assigned eg - /dev/disk3
Run diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN (where N is the number assigned to your USB stick, in previous example it would be 3)
Run sudo dd if=/path/to/target.img of=/dev/diskN bs=1m (if you get an error, replace bs=1m with bs=1M
Run diskutil eject /dev/diskN and remove your USB stick
The USB stick will now be ready to use

  • How do I exit the iMovie welcome screen?

I am trying to use iMovie, and I had a project started. Now whenever I try to open the project, the iMovie welcome screen appears, and I can't figure out how to get past it. It seems to be larger than my screen and won't move; there's no little red dot in the upper left-hand corner for me to exit it, and I can get my project to appear briefly, but then the welcome screen comes back. It's making me crazy, and I can't get to  my stuff! How do I make it go away? I don't need a tutorial every time I open iMovie!

it does take some time getting used too it.
from any page you want to close just swipe up from the bottom of the screen and it will minimize the page. then tap the x in bottom right to close page.
from the front app screen page swipe right for the hub of all notifications.
swipe right again for the applications menu screen.
to get back to app front screen swipe up.

  • When I turn on or restart my Macbook Pro Retina 15", my entire screen flashes completely bright yellow for a few seconds and then it goes to the normal Welcome screen.  How do I fix this??

    Hi Everyone,
This problem just started today.  When I turn on or restart my Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version), my screen is light gray like normal, and then after a few seconds my entire screen flashes completely bright yellow for a few seconds, and then it goes to the normal Welcome screen (where I choose to login as myself or a guest user).  This suddenly started today and has not stopped since.  This keeps happening every single time I turn on or restart my computer.
Yesterday I installed all the Mavericks and other updates that were available in the App Store, so I'm wondering if this is related to that since this never happened prior to my doing those updates yesterday.  When I first installed the new OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) update, it went through the whole installation process (took about 10 minutes), and then during the installation I got an error message saying that it couldn't verify my iTunes application that was on my laptop, and then my laptop finished installing the updates.  Then once my laptop restarted, the App Store "Updates" section said that I had to do the whole OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) and iTunes (Version 11.2) updates all over again.  So my laptop did the whole installation again (took about 10 minutes, but this time I didn't get that "iTunes error message" during the installation process).
Now, when I go to the App Store "Updates" section, it says the following under "Updates Installed in the Last 30 days":
-Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update (Version 5.05) installed May 15, 2014
    -OS X Update (Version 10.9.3) installed May 15, 2014
    -iTunes (Version 11.2) installed May 15, 2014
    -OS X Update (Version 10.9.3) installed May 15, 2014
    -iTunes (Version 11.2) installed May 15, 2014
    -Security Update 2014-002 (Version 1.0) installed April 22, 2014
I'm wondering if this flashing bright yellow screen upon bootup is related to the fact that my laptop installed the OS X Update and the iTunes Update two times each?  Or is this new problem totally unrelated?  It's just that this problem started a day after these 2 updates were installed twice.
My Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version) is otherwise working fine at least as of now.  The only issue so far is this flashing bright yellow screen every time I turn on or restart my computer.
If anyone could please help me fix this so that my bootup screen doesn't flash completely bright yellow anymore, I would be forever grateful!
Thank you so much for reading this and for any help you can provide.
    hope everyone is well,
    Elaine

    Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!
(Note that I arrived at this solution when I first saw this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570?viewlocale=en_US)
Let me know if this works for you!

  • After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I repurchased Garageband and I can't get passed the complete installation. I don't seem to have the "com.apple.garageband.plist" file that has been a common solution. Any suggestions?

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I repurchased Garageband and I can't get passed the complete installation. I've read through several posts that all reference the "com.apple.garageband.plist" solution. I don't seem to have the referenced .plist. Any solutions or suggestions?

    Did you upgrade from SnowLeopard?
I can't get passed the complete installation
What exactly is happening? Is GarageBand trying to download over and over again?
all reference the "com.apple.garageband.plist" solution. I don't seem to have the referenced .plist.
The property list stores your preferences, but also the settings from the last run of the application.  If that file is corrupted in some way, you might see third behaviour.
You must have this file, for it will be recreated automatically, if it is missing, or you have a permissions problem with your user library.
Perhaps you did look in he wrong place.
in MacOS 10.7. or later the User Library is hidden. To find the Preferences Files use the Finder's "Go" menu:
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Click onto you Desktop to bring the Finder forward.
In the Finder Menu press "Go" and hold down the "option/alt" key, until your user library appears in the drop-down menu
Select "Library" and in the Finder window that opens navigate to the "Prederences" folder; move com.apple.garageband.plist to the Desktop.
Log off and on again (don't skip that step!). Retry GarageBand and see if it GarageBand is now downloading the missing content properly.
If that does not fix the problem, post back and explain in more detail what the download problem is.
Why did you "repurchase" GarageBand? If you already owned GarageBand '11, it should be unnecessary.
    Regards
    Léonie

  • I can't move an app from one screen to another screen

I can't move an app from one screen to another screen

You've got the apps shaking by pressing and holding one of them for a second or two ? If you have then you should be able to drag an app (not too quickly) and then hold it so that it overhangs the edge of the screen, and after a second or so the display should switch to that next/previous screen. Is that not working ?
