Can't open a file, picture, on Ele-11?

Can't open a photo file on Elelments 11 / Windows 7? I've tried, >open, tried, >file, >open, tried the open pulldown and drag a file. I changed file format from, all formats to jpeg.? I just can't seem to open up a photo file on to my workspace. I am new to Elements. Just finished an on-line course.
Can anybody help me out there! LOL!

Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player? I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Thank you hopefully can give me some info about the status with this or if there wen is one. I would have thought that being a company such as you are that it would already be taking care of right from the beginning and not wait years to take care of somewhat that is very important ro have especially when there is so much our there using Adobe Flash now. I am not sure if this is just a blog with customers or if the company actually sees these posts but I am just hoping company or not that someone knows something about this. can you open freehand files in CS6? I have been using both illustrator & freehand for 15 years & have thousands of work files being freehand.
It seems very disappointing to have to keep an old version of illustrator just to open these files. I also find it interesting that many of the key tools that freehand had over illustrator are not translated into the newer versions of illustrator. Something simple like you still can't have a unique picture bullet • before text in illustrator. In freehand you could cut & paste any graphic into the text you were designing.

No. The conversion plugin didn't make it into CS6 so the last import function was CS5.5

At this point, it is the only way to make your files convert into Illustrator although I've had some luck with exporting to EPS or (if your FH graphics are simple enough) save as AI format. Keep your eyes on this project however : http://www.stagestack.com/

As a fellow FreeHand user, I couldn't agree more. Other users of both programs have said this endlessly over the years here. A litany of features are still m.i.a. since FHMX was acquired years ago... including inline graphics. It's almost comical.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

IPhoto updated and I can't open the files on my old computer

I tried to have all my information flow from my old computer to the new computer. Somewhere in the move my IPhoto program was updated and now I can't open that file on my old computer. I have deleted my old IPhoto preference pane under user, but I am unable to even find what update is now on my old computer. I found the preference pane had gone into a file folder for another program. I need to get the IPhoto folder corrected because I need to completely clear the info on the new computer, reload the original bundle and then try to move everything again. I hate to do all of this if I can't get the pictures moved somewhere that I can find them. ALSO - I can't find the photos on my new computer.

You should have an iPhoto program in the applications folder of your old computer and one in the applications folder of your new computer - please select each of those and report what version they are
And you should have an iPhoto library in the pictures folder of each computer - do you?
When you launch iPhoto on the old computer what does it say?
When you launch iPhoto on the new computer what does it say?
I need to completely clear the info on the new computer, reload the original bundle and then try to move everything again

When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.

Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you.

Sign in with your Adobe ID and password, and then convert your word doc into PDF.
Please let me know if that works.
If you have Adobe Reader, you cannot convert .doc file to .PDF by drag and drop.

Can't open CR2 files in photoshop and camera raw

This weekend I rented a Canon 5D Mark iii. I have downloaded the files and all of the thumbnails in camera raw say CR2 and when I try to open Photoshop does not recognize this product.
I have:
Photoshop CS4
Camera Raw CS4
Canon 5D Mark ii
I have checked my updates folder and all my updates are current. Do I need to upgrade to CS5 or is there a way around this?

Hi I recently had a problem opening CR2 files in PHotoshop cs4. I had to reinstall into a new computer, so obviously it installed the basic programme and not the updates.
After trying everything, even calling the help desk, there was apparently nothing that can be donw as they no longer support cs4.
I kept trying and found a you tube video, which i cant find again to add the link but i followed the link and with what I did earlier I can now open CR2 files in my photoshop cs4
I found the relevany update that I needed to install and downloaded it, camera raw 5.2 ( Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Camera Raw 5.2 update ) this is the one for the Canon 5d Mk2
After downloading it would not update the progeramme so I was in the same possition, but i noticed the files were there and i just needed to put them in the right place in photoshop so carried on looking for were to put the Plus In.
This led me to the video.
To the point.
Download the update and save to a location where you will remember.
open Adobe photoshop and go to "edit"
Them " Preferences "
then "General "
Then " Plus-Ins"
At the top you will see " Add Plug-Ins Folder " Check this box then navigate to the "win64" ( this is because mine is a windows 64 bit computer and the download is specific ) and Choose it.
Shut down photo shop and try to open a raw.
Bridge doesnt work for some reason but im going to keep looking.

I reinstall it photoshop and it did not work. I reinstall install window xp worked fine until I tried camera raw. Canon (xti) Only cs3 is on the computer now

I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
BEFORE:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
AFTER:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.

OneNote recordings "We're sorry, we can't open the file because it is in use by another program."

Constantly, OneNote breaks and screws up my recordings that are synced with my lectures. It is such a fragile process and very frustrating. As soon as I'm done recording, I press stop. When I test the recording, it says, "We're sorry, we can't open
the file because it is in use by another program." I just recorded and then stopped it. If i close and reopen OneNote, it says, "oneNote is cleaning up from the last time it was open." And the recording still says it's in use by another program.
I've even restarted the laptop and it still won't open. The only way i could salvage the file is if I copy and paste it into another folder, and then it will open through windows media player, but all the live syncing with my notes are gone. Where are these
files stored? If I could save the sound and find the file/format that holds the syncing data again, I could work around this. They are no where to be found on my computer. Other forums give locations, but my folders are empty. Some other recordings work and
sync nicely, but I have still lost many recordings to this error. However, if I play a file and then close it without stopping playback, that file, too, will now be unusable. It will be stuck as "We're sorry, we can't open..." no matter what i do
and again i have to copy/paste it into a new folder and then move it back. I had the same problem on my last laptop. I record in Windows Media Audio 10 Professional at 192 kbs, 48 kHz, and stereo CBR. I need the high quality because the lecturer is too quiet.
It seems to happen when I record long lectures, 45 min+. Shorter recordings tend to work fine.
Please help, this would make note taking so much easier.

Protected mode message comes up and when I try to open files it says it encountered an error and to check online.. i can not open any files now

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try to disable Protected Mode [Edit | Preferenes | Security (Enhanced)].

Updated to latest ACR 6.6 but still can't open CR2 files from Canon Rebel XSi

I updated to latest version of Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 but still can't seem to open my CR2 files in Photoshop. Can't open them in Lightroom either, no preview in Bridge or OS.
I'm running OS 10.7.2 and Photshop 12.1 x 64 which is CS5.1 I suppose.
I've downloaded Canon's EOS utility hoping that would somehow do something as well but nothing.
The images were shot on Canon Rebel XSi which is certainly supported by the newest version of ACR. So I have no clue as to what's happening... I previously downloaded these images onto my old laptop about a year ago and everything was fine, however now I'm not even getting a preview in OS. Do I have to revert to an older version of ACR (perhaps the same one I used originally?) to open these files again? These files have been stored on a hard drive, so I'm not downloading them directly from the camera-again, this probably has nothing to do with it but not sure what to do. A lot of the posts I've seen recommend downloading the latest version of ACR to fix the issue, but again I've done that and as a matter of fact the camera (Rebel XSi) has been supported for some time now...

Something appears to be wrong with your files.
Are most of your images approx. 3.7 MB?
This is very small for a 12 MP image.
If you go back to the original file on your laptop, what is the file size?
Also the fact that the Mac OS is not showing the preview is unusual.
Perhaps these files got corrupted when they were moved to your new computer.
Can you open these files OK on your old laptop?
Is the OS showing the previews on your old laptop?
Also compare the file sizes between old and new computer.
Have you tried repairing your permissions?
Try Disk Utility in your Macs Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility to see if this helps.
