Can't open a specific web page

i am having a trouble opening a specific web page. It tells me that it cannot find/connect to server, but it is only happening to one web page

wow i thought i was the only one!
it's also happening to me but in my case the whole myspace.com site (profiles, home, etc) isn't working
it does open the page but it doesn't load it properly, the vids doesn't appear and some images only appear with a "?" sign meaning that it cant load it, the music is not loaded
i've also tried with firefox but it doesn't load it either
and i've also tried with a pc i have here in my house using the same wireless network i use with this mac im having trouble and i can open any page including myspace

Can't open submenus on web pages

On some web pages I can't open sub menu on menu item selected. TD Waterhouse web pages do not work properly.

Can not open official Apple web pages?

Very strange.... can not open Apple web pages... just hangs on loading!

I have the same problem! I have my iMac and my PC connected via same router and same adsl modem. On the PC I can browse www.apple.com (actually, it takes half a minute to load the page, but it works); the iMac (both Safari and Firefox) is unable to load any page in the Apple official site.
On the iMac I'm able to load the Apple home page only if I digit directly the IP Address of www.apple.com site. Very strange. I'd appreciate any suggestion, thanks in advance.

Can't browse to specific web page

I am having an interesting problem browsing to the website http://members.boston.com/reg/login.do
This is the login page for Boston.com; you are asked to create an account to access more content.
I can access this page from my MacBook (Intel, 10.4.10) without issues as well as from my XP PC. However, when I try from my iMac 17" (also 10.4.10), it hangs. I have the problem with Safari and Firefox.
"Safari can’t open the page “http://members.boston.com/reg/login.do”. The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005)"
I see nothing in the console when I get this error. How can determine what the problem is?

Have you tried clearing the Caches in one of the Browsers, or better yet, I think you should get Applejack...

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.

Can't open normally viewed web pages

Pages that I normally view, were even put on my Toolbar, I am unable to open. Even if I google them and click on them from there, I can't open. I normally use Firefox, and have tried to open pages through Safari, still can't open. I am able to get on webpages from my home pc, that is not an Apple. The websties I am unable to access are: www.pickerington.k12.oh.us, www.ebay.com, www.phaprowlers.com, and just this morning www.lifetimefitness.com. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you installed anything or changed anything before all of this started happening?
I had this same problem some months ago and it turned out to be that in System Preferences > Network > Advanced - a few tick boxes were selected for a HTTP and HTTPS Proxy - This probably won't be an issue for you as you wont be able to connect to the internet full stop but have a gander through the Network Preferences and see if there is anything unusual ticked.
Also are you browsers up to date? I think Firefox has just released yet another update and maybe try running Software Update and install any updates found.
One last thing - Check in your browser preferences to see if Cookies are enabled.

To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser feature in Firefox 4, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it will turn bold).
Then return to your work site and reload the page.
Does that make any difference? If so, you can leave it that way. If not, you might as well switch it back (double-click that preference again to toggle it back to true.)
If not, and you need to roll back, here's the process:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

I used to have it set so when I opened a new web page, the previous one closed. Now, nothing closes automatically and I have about 50 pages open that I have to close. How do I set it so that only one page opens at a time?

You can use a keyboard shortcut to close all windows in Safari. CommandShiftW.
To close one window, Command + W.

You can fill a smart shape with the image using the Texture button, but beware: choose a shape with the same size as the image. Maybe Sreekanth is telling the same, but I didn't get his 'assign custom image to it'? And if you want to have a pause for a shape button, you have to check it in the Timing accordion.
Another approach is to put a click box on top of the image. You can open the URL in another window using the small triangle drop down list, and be sure to uncheck Continue Project to avoid that the playhead will continue.

I just noticed that when I exported a folder of pictures and movies to a web page, only the pictures showed up. Is there a way I can use the export to web page feature and see my movies?

Are you using iWeb to create your web page? If so then the only options from within iPhoto for exporting are a photo page or blog page. You need to export only the photos and once in iWeb create a separate movie page and import that movie to that specific page via the Media button at the bottom.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Redirect to "can't find the i-web page"/file name change

i published a website thru mobileme (http://www.hale-o-lani-aloha.com). when i type my website address in e-mails and check the link, i sometimes got directed to a page that said "we're sorry but we can't find the i-web page you've requested..." (yes, i've checked my typing!)
when i created my sitemap (with rage sitemap automator), i was told that the apostrophe in the file name for my first page was probably causing the problem. my file name was"hale o'lani aloha". i changed the file name for the webpage to "hale o lani aloha" and republished, redid the sitemap, etc. i now have 2 sets of files on my i-disk: one for Haleo'LaniAloha and the other for HaleoLaniAloha (i don't know why it's not "HaleoLani"). both sets of files have folders with the individual components of the site, css style sheet, java script and html files. the bad redirect site address has "/Site/HaleoLaniAloha" in the address. (when i checked the "oLani" html file on my i-disk, it opens an incomplete version of my first webpage. however, the "o'Lani" html file opens the fully functioning page). when the links work, the address has "/Site/Haleo_LaniAloha" (the new file name). so that long explanation brings me to my questions:
- did the apostrophe in my file name truly mess things up?
- since my fully functioning html file on i-disk has the apostrophe in it, should i rename my file with the apostrophe and delete the non-apostrophe files from my i-disk (even tho the working website has "oLani")?

This is part of Lion's Resume feature (I assume you are on Lion).
A couple of things you can do: System Preferences>General and deselect 'Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps'.
Also when you shutdown or restart make sure the following is unticked:

I've tried winbottler, but it doesn't seem to serve my purpose. The web site that I'm trying to access only permits Internet explorer.

Microsoft has not written IE for Mac for years so unless you want to create a parition and install Windows, or user a Windows emulator, you're out of luck for installing IE on a Mac.

Go to the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Enable the Develop menu.
Now click Develop from the Safari menu bar then click User Agent > IE 9, 8, or 7
