Can't open bridge or mini-bridge?

When I try to open bridge or mini bridge in CS5 I get a message saying that the program can't find the JavaScript plugin. Where do I go from here?

Is this a new installation of CS5, and did you relocate, or move plugins from a previous installation of an earlier version.
This seems to be a very similar problem and fix:

  • Can't Open ACR files from Bridge in Photoshop CC 2014

I Can't Open ACR files from Bridge in Photoshop CC 2014.  I have uninstalled the programs, and all other versions of PS several times, but no matter what I do, I can't open a raw file I have opened in Bridge, in PS CC 2014. I have to click Open in Photoshop CC 2014 in Bridge.
Also, on my workstation PC (Win 7 64bit), if I don't open PS prior to opening Bridge, then when I try to open a file from bridge it says it can't run PS on an earlier Operating system than Win 7!
I have done exactly the same instalation on my notebook, same OS, and everything works perfectly - I just don't understand.

Guys! This question was asked almost two months ago, and still no-one has replied? I'm still stuck, no matter what I have tried, I cannot find a solution. And please don't ask me to re-install AGAIN, I've done this several times and it simply does not work.

  • Can't drag files from Mini Bridge

    Hi
It's seems as an issue but I can't drag files from Mini Bridge to workspace thought my colleague can do that. Is it a problem with my configuration or internal bug of photoshop CS6?

Can't open camera raw in Bridge as broken circle is greyed out.  Why

    Not a clue.
I have no idea what you mean by "broken circle" and no clue as to what platform you're on, Macintosh or Windows, exact version of the OS, Bridge, ACR and Photoshop, what type of machine, RAM, etc.
Please read this FAQ for advice on how to ask your questions correctly for quicker and better answers:

  • Are Bridge and Mini Bridge and Camera Raw part of PS?

1.) Are Bridge and Mini Bridge and Camera Raw part of PS? OR do they also come with other programs in the Adobe software suite?
2.) What is the difference between Bridge and Mini Bridge?
    Thanks.

1.) The  Bridge application is included in the Photoshop installer, as well as  some other Adobe products.(more info:  http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/bridge/?promoid=GWELP). The  Mini Bridge extension is only included in Photoshop CS5, and InDesign  CS5. The Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in is shared by Photoshop, and  Bridge (and is also found in Photoshop Elements).
2.) Bridge is a separate application, whereas Mini Bridge is a panel  that's hosted by the Photoshop or InDesign application. Bridge has a fuller feature set than Mini Bridge and can be used by itself. Mini Bridge needs Bridge to create thumbnails, keep files  synchronized, and perform other  tasks, but operates in the context of the Ps or ID host application (ie. drag/drop multiple assets into working document w/o losing document view).

  • Bridge Help | Mini Bridge

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/using/mini-bridge.html

hi there, i totally agree with anne marie, after LOVING mini bridge in cs5, i am very disappointed by cs6's version.
having a large library of psd files that are sorted into large list of categorical folders, it was hugely productive to be able to click in the main preview window of mini bridge (where you could see thumbnails of folders OR jpgs/psd, start typing the first few letters of the name of folder i wanted to access to be taken to it, hit enter to go into that folder, and view thumbnails of the psd files within, then drag a psd as a photoshop smart object into my project. essentially it appears that mini bridge in cs5 worked just like bridge's 'compact' version, although neatly within the photoshop workspace. perfect.
now, because i can't see folders in the main thumbnail area, i have to use the  navigation pod above it (which i used to have minimized in cs5) which does not support typing to get to a folder (which means that i have to scroll down the looooong list of folders to get to the one i want), i tried using the 'search' function, but it only searches files, not folders, mini bridge is pretty much useless to me now, and takes even longer than using finder to get to an image i want to use. i know i can use bridge but i find it really annoying going between the two now when cs5 mini bridge was pretty much perfect for this.
not only that, but when i drag a psd into my document now, it is automatically turned into a rasterized layer instead of a photoshop smart object as it did in cs5. also devastating to my particular workflow. is there a setting im missing that i cant find??? ive googled it to death and although ive found others with this problem there doesnt seem to be a workaround. seems like being able to type to get to a folder a stupid omission to make, surely im missing something obvious???

I can't open my ipad mini afther listening music and stop it.

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Can't open Camera Raw in Bridge

One thing I noticed is that with CS5, when I choose Browse in Mini Bridge while in Photoshop, Bridge opens in the background. In CS6 when I browse in Mini Bridge, regular Bridge does not open, although I can open Bridge directly from Photoshop. The other strange thing is that I can open Camera Raw from mini Bridge, just not from regular Bridge. I get the same message as others get, that Bridge's parent application is not active and that I must launch a qualifying product at least once in order to open Camera Raw. I searched all the files I downloaded and installed for "trial" but nothing came up. Is there a certain file name or extension I should be looking for? Or is there some other way to solve the problem?
    Thanks

Yes, but when I open mini bridge in CS5, I can see Bridge open on my taskbar at the bottom of the screen and I can click on it. In CS6 I can't see bridge open anywhere when I open mini bridge. It is like there is a separate version of bridge running invisibly or something. I don't understand it.
It sounds like your on a PC (Windows).  Windows only allows one version of Photoshop and one version of Bridge to run are ang given time.  There are also Preferences in the Bridge Advance setting to start bridge at log on. When this option is check Bridge stays open in the background and may be hidden. So if Bridge CS5 is running and you start Photoshop CS6 Bridge CS6 will not be able to start. So make sure the check box to start Bridge is not checked in both Bridge CS5 and Bridge CS6

  • Unable to Open Full and Mini Bridge in CS6

I recently purchased the Student & Mac edition of CS6 and installed it on my Mac OS X 10.7.5.  I'm entirely new to CS and was following some video tutorials online, when I discovered that both the full and mini bridge components will not open.  If I try to open mini bridge in Photoshop, I get a message "Waiting for Bridge CS6."  If I attempt to open Bridge through the file dropdown or from the application file itself, I get an error message that says the operation cannot be completed.
I followed all of Adobe's recommendations here with no success: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/error-waiting-for-bridge-cs5.html  I have searched this forum as well, but a similar post was solved by uninstalling a previous version of CS, which is not applicable to me.
Does anyone have any additional suggestions for me?  Please let me know if I can provide additional information that is helpful.  Thank you very much.

If you also tried a new user account for testing and it did not work there then it indicates you have a false install or install DVD, you might want to use the official uninstaller for Adobe, then use the cleaner tool:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Read the instructions before acting and make sure you deactivate first and have the correct serial number at hand!
And then make sure you have a legal copy of your install DVD / download installer.
Also before reinstall it might be wise to first run a check and repair permissions using your Apple Disk Utilty (Applications/ Utilities /Apple Disk Utility)
    Then try again to install.

  • Can not creat Ratings in Mini Bridge

I checked mode and they are in filmstrip. I tried all the other modes with the same result.
One other thing is the mini bridge icon does not appear automatically with the pallets. I have to go to the file menu and open it. It does show the file names. And I can edit them ( the names). But I cannot add a ratting. And if a file has a ratting it does not show.
I can add ratings just fine in big bridge.
But if I do a search for ratings ( 5 Stars) it finds them but does not show the ratings.

When you look at the bottom right of Mini Bridge, you have two sets of icons. The one on the left is the Preview mode and the second is the View mode. Filmstrip is one of the view modes. However, with Mini Bridge you have to be in a Preview mode to apply ratings. A demonstration of this can be found in the following video http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-adobe-bridge-cs5/use-mini-bridge-in-cs5-applications/. Skip ahead to 4:30 to see the demonstration of preview modes, including applying a rating.
