Can't open camera and photo album.

Initially, it was still working fine as I was taking photos. However, it hang suddenly after I took another photo. After which, the camera closes after taking a photo. Also after touching on the camera roll, the album just closes. I also couldn't copy the photos to my computer as the iphone does not show up in the "My Computer" window. I've tried restoring and syncing it but it doesn't work. However, if i restore it as a new iphone or an older dated backup, the problem is resolved. But the photos will be gone and I really want to keep the photos, can anyone help?

Having the same issue. Can't open Photos app at all. Just closes. Can't even access any of my pictures (Library) through FB, Twitter, Photo Edit apps, etc. Whenever I try to access photos in any of these, the app closes and takes me back to the Home screen. What is happening?

  • Can't open Camera or Photos since upgrading to the newest firmware.

Anyone else had this problem? Tryed resetting but did not correct the problem.
When pushing the camera or photos icon, it tries to open but then goes back to the home screen.

If powering the iPhone off and on and a Reset has no effect, the next step is a Restore and if there are any photos available on your iPhone that were captured by the iPhone, be sure to import these photos from the iPhone to your computer before doing so along with syncing your iPhone to update the iPhone's backup file before the Restore from backup.

  • Can't open Camera RAW photos

I took some pictures with my Nikon D7100 in RAW format. Tried opening them in Photoshop. Error msg poped up stating it couldn't open them as they are not supported. The D7100 is listed as supported. How can I open them?

The D7100 is listed as supported.
You mention neither the Photoshop version nor the Camera Raw version you use so that statement seems unconfirmable so far.

  • I phone camera and photo album

When I got my iphone I went a bit snap happy. I now have about 80 pictures stored on the phone. I want to delete the whole roll - deleting one by one takes to long. Is there way I can do this?
Also, my phone has become much slower than it was, I wonder whether my photos are taking up space and slowing it down?

You have a MacBook which makes this process simple and easy with a couple of options included with your Mac.
Assuming you use iPhoto to store all digital photos available on your computer - imported to your Mac from other digital cameras or received via email, etc., you can use iPhoto for this which includes an option to erase all photos captured by the iPhone from the iPhone after the transfer/import process is complete which is the same option available when importing photos to your computer from any digital camera using iPhoto.
If you don't use iPhoto to store all digital photos - which you should consider, you can use the Image Capture application available in your Applications folder which Apple includes with OS X on all Macs. Image Capture includes the same functions - select a location/folder where you want to store the photos imported from the iPhone with an option to delete the photos from the iPhone automatically after the import/transfer process is complete.
If your iPhone includes photos captured by the iPhone, it is also recognized as a digital camera when connected to your computer so after doing so, launch iPhoto or the Image Capture application and your iPhone will be available automatically.

I did a restore on my Imac and now it says You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto. So when I go to apps icon they want to charge me 14.99 for new Iphoto

It would help if you would answer questions and give information rather then constantlhy complaining
You do not need to purchase anything - but to help you you do have to supply the requested information
Have you installed iPhoto from the DVD that came with the computer or from the App Store?
The answer to this is critical to helping you  --  please answer
WE probably also need to know exactly how you "restored" your Mac and why youneeded to restore it

  • Opening iphoto I get an error message that says "you can't open your current photo library using this version of iphoto.  You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iphoto.  Please quit and use the latest version of iphoto.

Opening iphoto I get an error message that says "you can't open your current photo library using this version of iphoto.  You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iphoto.  Please quit and use the latest version of iphoto."  I wouldn't have a clue as to how to change to a new version of iphoto even if I wanted to.

If you don't have a backup you can resort to give this a try:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • Could someone explain photostream, camera roll and photo albums?

I have a new iPHONE 5C, but am very confused in what are, and differences between, the iPHONE's camera roll, photo stream, and photo albums.
If someone could explain what these are, what they do, I'd appreciate it.
RIght off the bat, I understand photos and videos I take with my 5C first get stored in the unit's camera roll. Is that right?
OK, then I get confused as to / how to add (separate) my photos/videos into photo albums.
Also, I get confused as to IF I'd want to delete photos from photo albums, does that mean they ALSO get deleted from my 5C's camera roll (or internal memory somewhere?)
I just took 20 precious videos that I cannot afford to lose... should I backup these 20 videos first to my HP laptop PC (I have Windows 7 OS) before I try to copy to a photo album I'd want to create just for these 20 videos??
My icloud (don't even understand what icloud is or how it works! ) is full - so I'd like to delete photos I don't really care for from my 5C - will that give me more space in the iCLOUD for backups?
I'm very confused... any tips/pointers here would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi TurquoiseBlue
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
I will be happy to help you today.
So what I will do is explain the difference and if you have any other issue I will respond to them ASAP.
Camera Roll: This is every photo that has been take on this device and once it is deleted I will be deleted from all folders on that Phone however it will be backed up to iCloud Photos if it is enabled on your device.
My Photo Stream: This is a place where every photo you have taken in the last 30 days (with I think a limit of 10,000) are stored. The images here are all images taken on any device that used the same iCloud/Apple iD as the phone. So this means that if you took a picture on your iPod 15 days and it uses the same account as your iPhone the image taken will be on your iPhone and any other iOS and Mac OS X device that have the same account under Photo Stream. My Photo Stream is basically the Cloud storage of images.
Photo Albums: Consist of all images from the Camera role that have also been placed into an album. So if you want to sort some images from the camera role and have them in folders such as wedding, birthdays e.c.t these images will be there AND in the Camera role. If you delete the images from an album other than Camera role the images will go from that folder but will remain in the Camera role. If you delete an image from the Camera Role it will be removed from Camera Role and any other folder that is created.
Basically photos work like a flow chart.
    Image Taken ⇒ Camera Role.
If there is iCloud Photos on: image ⇒ Photo Stream and therefore accessible on another iOS/Mac OS X device using same iCloud/Apple iD.
Just to repeat as I know this is crucial and important information.
If an image is deleted from Camera Role that image is wiped from the device. However there is still a copy of that photo in iCloud Photos but remember those images are only there for 30 days so don't rely on it to keep that image.
Delete an image from photo stream it is wiped from the iCloud sync of that image to all iOS/Mac OS X device using iCloud Photos using same iCloud/Apple iD. YOU WILL STILL HAVE THAT IMAGE IN CAMERA ROLE HOWEVER.
Photo Albums. Delete an image there and it will be removed JUST from the folder. Delete and image from Camera Role that is also in a folder and it will be wiped from the Camera role and Photo Album. However there is still a copy of that photo in iCloud Photos but remember those images are only there for 30 days so don't rely on it to keep that image.
Just quickly iCloud Photos is a way of keeping a cloud copy of those photos on all your iOS/Mac OS X device using the same iCloud/Apple iD as I am sure you have worked out already.
With iCloud Photos you can also share images using a shared photo stream where people can add, comment and like images there.
In short don't rely on iCloud Photos to keep an image if you want to delete an image from the photo stream because most likely when you will want the image, it will be gone.
Of course Apple might explain it better than me and so this link should verify what I said and reinforce what iCloud Photos does: http://www.apple.com/icloud/icloud-photo-sharing.html
Many Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

  • Can't access photos in camera roll - camera and  photo app crashes

Have iphone 4 with iOS 5.0. Took pictures but now I can't access any photo in the Camera Roll. When I now try to take a picture, Camera app crashes. If I try to access the Camera Roll via Photo App, it too crashes. Can't see the photos from iTunes either. Shows it as unknown data. Is there anyway to rebuild the photo library or remove a corrupted photo since I think that is the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks to Steve Kehlet who posted the solution that helped me and saved my day, https://discussions.apple.com/message/16405821#16405821
    Follow the link:

How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

I have a Mac OSx 10.6.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and can no longer order printed photo albums unless I update to new version of iPhoto. But reviews of new iPhoto are so negative that I am uncomfortable about buying it. Will it be fine or should I steer clear of trouble and accept that i can no longer publish my photos?

    iPhoto '11 is working well.
The reviews usually only show the comments of people who do not like the changed features.
To get an idea what to expect, when you upgrade, look at the iPhoto '11 support sites.
