Can't open different Websites

Hello,
if i try to open "www.facebook.com" or "www.ebay.de" it is not possible to open the website.
Every Website works fine! I have the same Problem in other Browsers. In addition it is possible to connect to facebook with an other notebook.
So i opened my Network-Diagnostic-Tool and try to Trace:
traceroute to www.facebook.com (127.255.255.255), 64 hops max, 72 byte packets
1  * * *
2  * * *
My MacBook try to open the IP-Adress "127.255.255.255" (the same happens with ebay)
This is my Routing Table:
Destination        Gateway            Flags        Refs      Use   Netif Expire
default            fritz.box          UGSc           18       10     en1
127                localhost          UCS             0     3126     lo0
localhost          localhost          UH              6    32906     lo0
169.254            link#5             UCS             0        0     en1
192.168.178        link#5             UCS             5        0     en1
What can I do to route Facebook, ebay to the correct IP-Adress?
I hope you could help me... thx!

You, or someone using your computer, hacked the system to block certain servers. The file modified is /etc/hosts.
By far the easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a Time Machine (or other) backup that predates the modification. If that's not possible, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
open /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste (command-V) into the Terminal window. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see something like this:
# Host Database
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1                              localhost
255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
::1                                        localhost
fe80::1%lo0                    localhost
Below that, you'll see some other lines. There should be nothing before the first line above. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the document. In OS X 10.7 or later, scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before:
sed '/lo0/q' !$ > Desktop/hosts
You should now have a file named "hosts" on your Desktop. Double-click the file to open it in TextEdit, and verify that it has only the contents shown above, with any extra lines removed. If so, close the window without making any changes.
Next, go back to the Terminal window and enter one final command, again without typing:
sudo sh -c 'cat Desktop/hosts > /etc/hosts'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Confirm. Quit Terminal. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
That will fix the hosts file. You can now delete the file that was created on your Desktop.

Try changing your browser agent using the Developer menu your browser preference can enable.
If that doesn't work, complain to your college dean that the website violates accessibility laws, and should follow http://www.w3.org worldwide conventions to ensure accessibility.  Do not enter any personal information if you are forced to use Windows to browse the website, as it may be insecure.

• I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any websites in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

3 websites gave me this message:- "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." I chose to stop the script each time. However I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any website in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the Uninstall Firefox article.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do not check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox user profile data will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* (On 32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
* (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
#Look for a Mozilla Firefox folder. If you find one, right-click it and select Delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

• I can not open different sites after installing itunes. Why?

I can not open different sites after installing itunes. I can`t open google.com or youtube.com. Why?

Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff: What version of iPhoto. What version of the Operating System. Details. What were you doing when the problem arose? Did it ever work properly? Step-by-step descriptions of how you got to this issue. If something doesn't work, are there error messages? What happens when you try to do this thing? And what steps have you tried already to solve the issue. With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that a helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

• Can not open vodafone website for bill pay

can not open vodafone website for bill pay. Gives Message as " Peer's Certificate has been revoked.

https://myvodafone.vodafone.in/NWSS-Project-context-root/NWSS.jsp?Circle=0005

This is happening in all browsers, I tested it with IE8, IE6, IE7 and Chrome, this looks like an issue with the website and not with Firefox, please contact the helpdesk of the corresponding website and ask them to fix their security certificate. I am no expert in security certificate by the way, but this is required for HTTPS connections.

• Can't open any website

I can't open any website using Firefox. I tried for 4 hours this morning, just blank, or "loading" (but nothing actually loaded). Finally got google partially open but not completely. Shut down my computer about 50 times, had my internet provider check my DSL connection (working "really fast" they said), 12 hours later, still can't open a damned thing. Upgraded to 3.6.13, still nothing. Finally got Safari open (which i've never used successfully on my emac), and it's super fast. I give up on Firefox.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
* Microsoft Safety Scanner
* MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
* TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

• I can't open a website on my mac book pro, but can open it on mac bookair

i can't open a website on mac book pro, but can open it on mac book air

Restart the router. If there's no change, see below.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

• Safari can't open any website

Safari can't open any website and it shows a message about not connecting to the server. What should i do to fix it?

I could - rarely - find where a 3rd party product update may have some adverse side effect, but rare.
Maybe Safari 5.1 for Windows added and closed security but wasn't tested enough to see what effects it would have.
Consider, seems every day the same question is posed and asked.
There is a command to flush Windows DNS I saw....
I just tried to go to one thread and it vanished "Looking for something" and blank page now.

• Safari can't open Google website

For the last couple of days, my default search engine (www.google.com) was not searching, and giving me following error:
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.google.com/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “www.google.com”.
I went through pages in support about problems with third-party plugins. I've tried un-checking "Enable plug-ins"; Resetting Safari; Emptying Cache; Re-starting Safari and computer, nothing has worked. Other search engines are working e.g. bing, yahoo. I can't open any of google websites from .com or .co.uk or gmail. I've just tried using Firefox and it also can't open google websites.
I'm using Safari 5.0.3 (5533.19.4) on a Mac OS X 10.5.8.
I had Glims installed on my machine, which I just un-installed it; re-started; re-set safari, but still can't open google website.
As far other websites are concern, so far all the websites which are in frequent use can open. Is there problem with Google, Safari/Firefox (browser) or my mac (virus or something)?
Thanks a lot everyone.
PS: Oh yes. I got update on Safari yesterday, is that causing any issues?

I had the same problem too.
I searched by using bing.com (fortunately MS search engin has helped me )
I found a archived post https://discussions.apple.com/message/11061084#11061084
I did what Carolyn said and I also checked the PeerGuardian app
but I don't think it's because of this app that my connection wasn't possible, because I rarely use it.
Et voilà, everything works now.
I'd like to thank Carolyn and Rave for allowing me to do not format my dear iBook G4 that I haven't formated for over 3 years!!! (I've done the whole backup of my iBook)

• Can't open a website after installing the router.

I just installed the wireless router, WRT54G, and secured wireless on it. Did not do anything else. I finished and came back to my wired connection and my usual business of the day and I noticed I cannot open ONE image hosting website. I could before and once the setup was done, I get the "server cannot be found". I can though open the site on the wireless connection and browse it. But not on wired. the website is www.photobucket.com and I really need access to it on my wired connection. Since the problem appeared after the install and turning off firewall and changing browsers does not solve the situation, I suspect it has to be some setting in router settings. Anyone can tell me how to remedy this situation? Thank you

Pls read my post on "Internet Connectivity", seems, at least for the time being to have solved my issues. fish

• Can't open one website on any browser on mac

I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10 (up to date)
I also have Safari 8.0.2 and Chrome 40.0.2214.91 (64-bit).
I have been trying to open a website (home insurance) for months now and assumed the website was just down every time I checked.
Yesterday I had my wifi on my mobile (iPhone 5) switched off and the site loaded which led me to believe the issue is with my wifi and not the website itself.
I have cleared all my website data, deleted my safari cache.db folder, I've turned off and on the mac firewall as well as the one in my routers admin panel.
I don't see any proxy settings.
I'm not sure what else to try?
I get the same problem on Safari and Chrome.
Safari says it can't establish a secure connection and Chrome says the connection was interrupted Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this?

From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network ▹ Advanced... ▹ DNS
Under DNS Servers you should have one or more numerical addresses, such as “192.168.1.1” or “10.0.0.1”. What are those addresses?
