Can't open e-books - message says something about .ascm file
I've installed the program and uninstalled it numerous times and each time I go to open a book I get a message saying that .ascm is not a supported file. Went into defaults and there is no such file listed. I'm an amateur with all this, so have no idea what to do next.
How are you trying to open them?
I ask because a .pps is a Powerpoint slide show and Adobe REader only opens PDF's.
So, are you double clicking on a file and REader is trying to open them or are you opening Reader then using File>Open and navigating to the file or something else. As many details as you can supply would be good.

just got a Nikon D610 and CS5 for Mac can't open the images -- message says installed version of camera raw doesn't support the camera. Downloaded the Raw 6.2 update for Mac, but installation failed. Now what?
The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5. -
What does this mean: "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"? I tried reinstalling, but I get an error message saying something about permission to launch services.

I am having problems with Safari --- running slowly at times but shutting down unexpectedly at other times and displaying the error message saying something about the sonic foundry plug-in. I cannot find this anywhere on my computer. It seems to happen when I visit the Cooking Light website. Strange.
Anyone have any ideas?
Also, when the box pops up asking if I would like to submit a report to Apple, and I choose submit, it tells me that I cannot submit the report. Frustrating.
Help! You're infected with the Flashback malware. It takes advantage of a defect in the Java web plugin to install itself when you visit a contaminated website. No fix is available from Apple for your obsolete version of the Mac OS. You may be able to clear the infection by running the removal tool developed by a third party:

Back up all data before you take this step. If it works, change every Internet password you have, starting with banking passwords, and check all financial accounts for unauthorized transactions.
Disable Java (not JavaScript) in the settings of all your web browsers, and leave it disabled as long as you're running Mac OS 10.5.x. To disable Java in Safari, select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Security and uncheck the box labeled Enable Java. -

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

I maked the ebook on my laptop, not on a Ipad. And now I want to eksport it and burn it on a dvd, så others can use it as an ebook.
The only people who can read your book in .ibooks format are people with an iPad, and an iPad cannot read a dvd. So you should probably export it as .pdf. -

This happened this morning. Firefox seemed to freeze and go into slow motion.
In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

After purchasing a album of TV Theme songs, during the download some of the themes would not load, an error message came up saying to the effect I did not have the correct info to download. Does anyone know about this issue & any thoughts on how I aquire the themes I paid for? The themes that did not load still show up in the music list but are greyed out & have an "!" exclamation mark beside the number of the item in the list.
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

So my ex decided to take it upon himself and set up my IPad and put passcodes all over the place as well as using his apple id to put things on my Ipad. Now that we are broke up I am trying to get into my Ipad and use it and can not. I have tried to restore it and wipe it clean to start ovwer but at the end of the process i get a msg stating that there is a passcode of somesort that i need to disable. What can I do to start over and clear everything?
Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

I need help with the leapfrog connect application. It won't open and it keeps saying something about the font Testgen. Please help me if you can.
Considering that the "Most recent updates" link on the Leapfrog Connect homepage is dated November 2009, I wouldn't hold out too much hope that your software is compatible with Lion, released in July 2011.
