Can't open elements 8

I bought a new MacBook Pro in September and used TimeMachine to transfer everything over. I just went to use Photoshop Elements 8 for the first time and it gave me a licensing agreement error, 150:30. So I searched that on here and the fixer you had me download only freezes and will not open. I'm running Mountain Lion. version 10.8.2. I keep my OS up to date.
Please let me know of a solution to this issue.

Okay, first of all, just to be clear, "we" didn't have you download anything, because this is just a user to user forum. Having said that, you can never, never restore PSE from time machine, since PSE is not a tidy package like most mac applications. The PSE installer strews stuff all over your hard drive in many places. You will need to remove the transferred version and reinstall from the original media to get all the necessary parts.

Hello
I have been using a trial version of Elements 9 but decided that if I were going to buy Elements I may as well go for the latest version, so I have just downloaded 11.
It won't open. I have updated the video card from the Intel Web site and installed Quick Time. I still can't open 11.
Does it make any difference that I still have 9 operational and maybe that explains why I can't open 11?

I have a Packard Belli S1800 with 3BG RAM and about 300GB hard drive. It's a 64-bit operating system.
One possible issue would be the 3GB RAM w/ Win-64. As pointed out in another "failure to launch" thread, Win-64 claims to be able to run with just 1GB RAM, but with real-world tests, it can use up most of 4GB RAM, leaving not that much for other programs to operate. PrE 11 does require more in the way of resources, than previous versions, so that could play a role.
While it probably would not hurt to test an Uninstall/Reinstall, I am not sure that it will fix the issue.

One of the links in that article is on "Clean, Lean & Mean Editing Machine," and it talks about programs and processes, that load at bootup, but are mostly unnecessary, and can sap resources. I would definitely see that.
Another link is on "Finding Clues," and it talks about using Windows' Event Viewer, to see what is happening, when a program crashes, or hangs. Worth a read, as you might find somethin in the Applications, or the System Tab, to help you.

How can I open elements 11 organizer, no matter how I try, I cannot see my pictures or catalogues.

How can I open Organizer in Elements 11. No matter what I do I cannot open it to see my picture folders or catalogues. Can anyone help?

I click the icon in the taskbar. The editor works fine but the organiser has stopped working. I have 4 catalogues and approx 19000 pictures in them but organiser has stopped working.Have reinstalled the software but this didnit resolve the problem

Can't open Elements 8 more than once without shutting down the computer

After starting up my computer, I can open Elements 8 (organizer and/or editor) and work as usual. However, if I close the program, then check email or work on something else, and then I decide to open Elements again, I get the opening screen, click Organizer, and it just disappears. When I shut down the computer, it says there are programs waiting to close, but it shuts down quickly despite that. Once I have restarted, all is normal again, until I decide to open Elements twice.
I have Windows 7 professional.
Do I need to reinstall Elements 8?

It sounds like the Organizer and Editor aren't closing all the way, which makes it so you can't re-open them.
To know for sure if this is the case, after you close either program, open Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), go the Processes tab, click the option at the bottom to show processes from all users, and then scan the list for PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe and/or PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe.
If there, then that means they aren't getting closed.
As a temporary workaround until you find out why they won't close, you can end the process in Task Manager instead of rebooting the computer.
As for the cause, it is possible that something else you have running in the background, perhaps security software, is causing the issue. To determine if that's the case, restart the computer without any startup items or non-essential services, and then run Elements 8. Here are some instructions:

If you can close and re-open the Editor/Organizer properly without anything else running, then something was preventing the program from closing properly. Use a process of elimination to determine what; something similar to this method:
Open the System Configuration utility.
Re-enable approximately half of the items that were disabled.
Click OK, and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Check if you can close and re-open the Editor/Organizer.
If you can't anymore, open the System Configuration utility and disable half of the most recently enabled items.
If you can still, open the System Configuration utility and re-enable half of the remaining items.
Go back to Step 3, and continue dividing the items into halves until you have determined which startup item or service is causing the issue.
Once you have isolated the problematic startup item or service, contact its manufacturer for an update or configuration information, or leave it disabled.

How can I open Elements 8 with "Open with dialog" in Windows XP?

When I try to open a photo from My Pictures using the Open with dialog (when I click on Register) I get a message"Specified file is missing! No changes were made" Photoshop Elements 8 is installed and working. For some reason Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 no longer appears on the list of programs in the Windows Open With dialog. How can I add Adobe Elements 8 to the Open With dialog? There are programs listed that I do not use. Is there a way to delete or add programs to the Open With dialog?

I couldn't get this to work for some reason. I solved the problem by
downloading
OpenWithAdd_1.2.zip. This adds the program to the "Open with dialog"
The procedure is:
Download OpenWithAdd.zip and run it. Locate the application that you
want to add to the Open With dialog.
Type the command-line parameter (if the application requires one) in the
appropriate text field. And optionally, you can give a personalized name
for the application which you're trying to add to Open With. This text
will appear in the Open With dialog, describing the application.
Once done, click Register.
Your application is now added to the list.

I installed elements 11 from a disc I bought from Amazon but it won't open. The icon appears on the dock but when I click on it nothing happens. HELP!!!!!

I purchased Photoshop Elements 10 online for my macbook pro; then I downloaded it and when I try to open it, a box pops up that says there is no application downloaded to open the file. Any advice?? Help!

I can't open Elements after I download it from the website.

I recently had to replace my hard drive on my iMac. After doing so, I tried to download Photoshop Elements after logging into the Adobe website. I download and when I hit the "open" button, nothing happens. Does anybody have any insight on how to fix this?

Maybe a corrupted download, Try a different ISP or use your disk if you have one, or better, get one form ADOBE.

Can't open elements without computer restart each time.

program will not open unless i restart the computer each time i use it, or click on a picture that is associated with elements. Shortcut on desktop and start menu inop.

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
The Editor's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
The Organizer's executable is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

Just installed Elements 10 trial on a Mac & it won't open in the dock. Failed at the very first fence. Automatic graphics choice does not exist in my "Energy Saver" system preferences as discussed on another installation thread elsewhere.

I had to uninstall adobe photoshop elements 12 and reinstall it and now when I try to open the program, it asks for my email and password but the program never opens up? Please help....I want to fix my pictures....

How are your preferences set in Aperture, Paul (Preferences > Export > External Editor Format)?
I am having the same problem. Photoshop Elements 12 will open with an empty window, when I use the TIFF format as External Editor Format. Only, when I set the format to PSD will PSE 12 open with the selected image showing. These settings are working for me:

I have windows Vista home premium. I've been using PE 6.0 for a year and it worked fine. Now, all of a sudden today I click on my PE 6.0 desktop icon and the program won't open.
