Can't open extended version PDF, HELP!!!

Question

Okay..i've got contracts that need form fields for work. I've converted the text doc into a PDF and input all the form fields, then save as reader extended PDF and enable additional features. I've tried emailing the PDF to myself to make sure the form fields work, but i just keep getting a message that says "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
I've changed the date and time setting for both laptops, Ive sent it to myself as a zip file and not as a zip. i've tried saving it in a number of differet ways, and everytime I still get the same message. The laptop I CREATED the PDF on has a trial version of Adobe Acrobat X Pro, and the laptop im trying to SEND it to, doesnt have X Pro at all, just Adobe Reader, as the trial version of X Pro had expired so I uninstalled it.
What in gods name can I do so I can get the form fields to actually work so we can save it on the laptop after its been filled out, WITHOUT printing it
I've got Windows 7 home premium on both laptops. I have Adove Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.2 trial on the laptop it was created on. and I have Adobe Reader X 10.1.2 on the other laptop.

Any chance the original document or the PDF was created by OpenOffice.org?  We've had trouble with Adobe PDF Generator when it uses OpenOffice.org as the fall-back to convert a Word document to PDF, then try to add Reader Extensions.  If we create the PDF using Word directly or Acrobat, there is no problem adding Reader Extensions.
