Can't open .fff files in Lightroom 3.5 candidate, though update states compatibility??

Hi, I just installed the 3.5 Lightroom Candidate, and am trying to import my .fff Hasselblad files.  The documentation states .fff files are supported, but cannot seem to import files.  Files are initially recognized but see the following attachements. Does anyone have any answers?? The initial captures were both a mix of tethered shooting into Phocus and CF Card captures non-tethered.
Thanks.

Sorry the screen capture of documentation is a bit fuzzy.  States "FFF files created by the Hasselblad Phocus software for currently supported models are now also supported."  I'm using an H3DII-31, which is supported on the latest Phocus version I'm using 2.6.1. However I've heard tethered captures into Phocus might be another format .3FR, though the files don't show this tagging.

  • Can't open fff file in photoshop cc

    hello,
when I had cs5, I could turn off the ACR moving the camera raw.plugin file out of the folder,
now there is no folder, nor acr plugin, the acr cannot be dissabled, thus I cant open the imacon fff file at all with photoshop,
is there other way to edit the file in PS CC?

I don’t know anything specific about opening FFF files in Photoshop, but on a Windows 7 computer that has both PS-CS5 and PS-CC installed, the CS5 ACR plug-in is:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS5\File Formats\Camera Raw.8bi
and the ACR plug-in for CC is:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\Camera Raw.8bi
If you’re on a Mac, maybe there is something different in the structure of where and how things are stored.
Does the explicit selection of the 3F plug-in work for you as described, here:

  • Help I can't open raw files in lightroom

For some reason every time I try to import files that are RAW it states my files are not there or corrupted.  I have them in a file on my computer hard drive and on an external hard drive.  I don't know what do do.  any import would be helpful

Camera? How are you importing them (i.e., what options)? What is the exact message you are getting? What version of the product are you using?
Can any other application open these files up?

  • Can I open NEF files in Lightroom 3.6

    Thank You Adobe.
Another question : can I open the nef format of Nikon D4 with Lightroom 3.6?
    Cordialement.
    Eddy Perrier

The D4 is first supported in LR 4.1.
The only way to use LR 3.6 would be to use the free DNG Converter from Adobe Labs to change the NEF to a DNG.

  • Can't open Project files... have latest FCP though

Hello, I have the FCP Suite 2 and it's updated. I got a Project file from a client and when I open it, it says something similar to 'can't open the project with this version of Final Cut'.
If i have the latest version of FCP how could this be? Will FCP open a Final Cut Express file?
Sorry i don't know the exact error message at the moment, I'm trying to figure this out before I get back to my office this evening (where the computer and file is) at which point I have to contact the client and tell him what's up.
And feedback would be great, thanks for your time. Will give better details this evening if needed
    -Monty

I installed the update... FCP still launches as 6.0.1 . So I tried downloading the 6.0.2 updater (Pro Applications Update 2008-01), and as I enter my serial to access the file it lead me straight to the Pro Applications Update 2008-02 download which i just tried installing.
Any quick ideas would be great, I've put the client on hold til tomorrow. I did do a search here and though it wasn't clear, it seemed like someone was recommending a complete system re-install. I hope that's not the situation, thanks for your time!
    -Monty
PS-If it has to be a new install of everything, exactly what do i need to make FCP update to 6.0.3? Just update FCP through the Software Updater then install the Pro Applications Update 2008-02? Or are there other update I need to get manually, thanks.

  • Can't open NEF files in Lightroom...why?????

I recently replaced my Canon with a Nikon D5000.
First test of taking photos and I could not upload the RAW (nef) files to my computer--either directly into my pictures or into lightroom.  Figured that out by downloading the NEF Codec, which allowed me to view my photos on my computer as thumbnails, attempts to open said Windows does not recognize this file.  Okay.  So, double-clicked an image, took me Lightroom and I selected "import" to be given the "this file is unsupported or damaged."  I have tried EVERRYTHING I can think of, cannot get these files to open.  I will say I am fairly new to using Lightroom beyond the basics, but I had no problem importing RAW files from my canon.
Is there some sort of setting I need to change to allow these files to be opened in lightroom???  I tried copying from file and copying as a DNG--neither worked.
Help would be appreciated very much!!  I have spent the past two hours in frustration trying to figure this out, no one seems to have a clue.

And your version of LR is ...?
LR supports the D5000 in the latest v2.5, AFAIK.

  • Help! Can't open Raw files in lightroom 2!

I have been editing my raw files in Adobe bridge but I just purchased  Lightroom 2 and would like to start to use it but I can't! I go to import my raw files and by they end, it says my files were not the right type or corrupted but I can see them in Bridge. Does anyone know if there is a plugin or something for lightroom 2  that I'm obviously missing to fix this? THANKS so much to however has the answer.

Glad you solved it for yourself. Sometimes hitting it also helps
Might it be that they were sRAW or mRAW, and now you're importing full size RAWs?

  • Help I can't open raw files in lightroom-tearing my hair out....

That is lightroom 2 I have that info may be helpful.

I'm afraid you'll have to give us more information.  What version of Lightroom 2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.7?  And, what camera are you using?  Have you checked it your camera is on the supported list for the version that you are running?  What operating system are you using?

  • I am trying to open a garageband file that my friend sent me, but she has a newer macbook pro than I do, so I can't open the file because it says I need to update garageband.  I installed the updates but it still won't let me open it. How do I fix it?

The newest version of garageband can't be downloaded on my computer because my operating system isn't new enough, but I can't find a link to download a newer version of garageband than the one I currently have (garageband '09 version 5.1).

What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:
                     GarageBand 6.0.5
GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system.  But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio.  Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

  • How to open NEF files in lightroom 4.4 ?

im using Lightroom v4.4 how can i open NEF files to edit ?

You have to update you LR 4.4 version to LR5.6. Since this version LR is able to open nef - files from Nikon's D810.
The other way is to convert the nef-files to dng.

  • Can't open RAW file when moved from Lightroom to Photoshop CS4

I have a Canon 6D and recently purchased Lightroom 4.4 so that I could open my Canon RAW files. They do open in Lightroom, but when I move them to PHotoshop CS4 I can't open the files. I get a message telling me I can't open them. Any suggestions?

I don't know Macs so can't give you advice if CS6 will run on your Mac.
But since you have Lr5 you won't need to open Raw images in Photoshop. Lr5 gives you all the Raw editing capabilities that you need. I don't think CS6 will add anything to Raw editing capabilities that Lr5 doesn't have - although I don't know CS6 since I am still working with CS5.
You still can send images from Lr5 to CS4 for editing but you have to select <Render using Lightroom> in the dialog that says that the "Camera raw plug-in 8.1 may be required   ...". BTW: what this means is that the Camera raw plug-in 8.1 is required for Photoshop, not for Lr.
When you select <Render using Lightroom> Lr will create a TIFF / PSD from the Raw image and send it to CS4 for editing.
If you had CS6 Lr would send the Raw image to CS6 but on saving the edits in CS6 a TIFF / PSD would be created.
The only drawback with using CS4 is that the options <Merge to Panorama ...>, <Merge to HDR ...>, and <Open as layers> will be greyed-out and are not available.
If instead of selecting  <Render using Lightroom> in the dialog box you would select <Open anyway>, nothing would happen. CS4 would open but the image would not be displayed in CS4.

  • Can photoshop CC open raw files from Lightroom 5?

Trying to open raw files from Lightroom 5 in Photoshop CC 2014, with no luck.
    Anyone?

Problems are as follows— all versions are current.
    1. When in Lightroom, trying to open a photo in Photoshop,-- choosing Photo>Edit in Photoshop CC 2014— Photoshop opens but no photo appears. The only time a photo opens is if it is a JPEG… CR2 does not open, dng does not open
    2. When trying to open a JPEG in Photoshop, dialog box opens offering choice between "Edit Original", "Edit a copy", or "Edit with Lightroom adjustments", Only choosing “Edit Original” allows photo to open.
    3. When in Photoshop choosing “Browse in Bridge” does not open Bridge… opens CC app and prompts me to install another version of Bridge, or keep version I have.  (See attached screenshot) Either way it’s a malfunction… as I said earlier all versions are leanest.
    PLEASE HELP!!

  • Updated to latest ACR 6.6 but still can't open CR2 files from Canon Rebel XSi

I updated to latest version of Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 but still can't seem to open my CR2 files in Photoshop. Can't open them in Lightroom either, no preview in Bridge or OS.
    I'm running OS 10.7.2 and Photshop 12.1 x 64 which is CS5.1 I suppose.
I've downloaded Canon's EOS utility hoping that would somehow do something as well but nothing.
The images were shot on Canon Rebel XSi which is certainly supported by the newest version of ACR. So I have no clue as to what's happening... I previously downloaded these images onto my old laptop about a year ago and everything was fine, however now I'm not even getting a preview in OS. Do I have to revert to an older version of ACR (perhaps the same one I used originally?) to open these files again? These files have been stored on a hard drive, so I'm not downloading them directly from the camera-again, this probably has nothing to do with it but not sure what to do. A lot of the posts I've seen recommend downloading the latest version of ACR to fix the issue, but again I've done that and as a matter of fact the camera (Rebel XSi) has been supported for some time now...
In OS, when the image is selected no preview:
    Lightroom error:
    Bridge, no preview:
    Photoshop error:
    Ideas, suggestions?

Something appears to be wrong with your files.
Are most of your images approx. 3.7 MB?
This is very small for a 12 MP image.
If you go back to the original file on your laptop, what is the file size?
Also the fact that the Mac OS is not showing the preview is unusual.
Perhaps these files got corrupted when they were moved to your new computer.
Can you open these files OK on your old laptop?
Is the OS showing the previews on your old laptop?
Also compare the file sizes between old and new computer.
Have you tried repairing your permissions?
Try Disk Utility in your Macs Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility to see if this helps.
    Good Luck!

  • How can I open raw files from my Nikon D7100 in CS4 or CS5?

How can I open raw files from my Nikon D7100 in CS4 or CS5?

    Andy,
In the simple and short form, what happens with the ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) module is that it gets updated with regularity, to accommodate the camera mfgr's. changes for their newer models. That ACR works within the host program, such as Ps, PsElements, Lightroom, etc.. At a point, Adobe ceases to support older host program versions. When that happens, the user has a few options:
    Upgrade the host program version
Use another host program, such as PsElements or Lightroom
Use the free DNG converter, per Curt's suggestion. That is not host program dependent
Glad that the DNG Converter works for you.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How to open NRW-files in Lightroom 4?I

just bought Nikon's Coolpix P7800. It says you can shoot in Raw. Now I want to open these files in LR, just like I'm used to with my SLR's. But Nikon uses the NRW-format for Raw and LR says it doesn't recognise the files. Does someone know if there's a way to convert and work with these files in LR 4?

    Thanks Jim for your response,
    I will upgrade to 5.3
