Can't open I Tunes

Hello ))) I just bought a secondhand Macbook air 2009 edition. I spent one day to update it and now seems that everything is ok and update.
I also downloaded and installed the latest Itunes version. But when I try to open Itunes it doesn't and an alert message says: " I tunes requires Quick Time 7.5.5 version or later".
So downloaded Quicktime.exe and launch this file, but doesn't start any installing but I can see only a strange Dos window.
What can i do?
thanks
Lapo

No one can help me?

There is an article here that I would like for you to take a look at that can help you troubleshoot iTunes installation on your Mac:

  • I did a system restore to a previous state now can't open I-Tunes

To cut a long story short my windows XP PC is having problems so I have done a system restore to 1 month ago. The problem is that I can't open I-Tunes now. First it said that I need to uninstall & reintsall ITunes because it can't open quick time, so I went to my program files and opened quicktime manually which opens ok (although it may be an older version). When I then try and open i-tunes it says that it can't read my library because it has been updated since, and nothing happens. If I then re-set my PC back to today then everything is fine again. I believe that I-tunes last updated itself on 3rd June, but my PC problems happened before that so I need to restore my PC to an earlier state.
I have over 3500 songs in my I-tunes libary, about 200 purchases and about 20 playlists and I am worried about losing them all if I re-install as suggested. Can anyone help me please????
Or is there a way to transfer my i-tunes library over manually so that it opens it ok?

+When I then try and open i-tunes it says that it can't read my library+
Use the directions from this article to find an itunes database that will work.
Surely one of the files in the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder will work.

  • I can't open i tunes, I've followed the instructions given on this site but it still won't open

I can't open I tunes, I've folowed the instructions given on this site but it still won't open. Any alternative suggestions?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Storeand turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • Can't open i tunes says locked file

can't open i tunes says locked file

    Hello sjo400
When the iTunes file is locked, that normally means that there is a permissions issue. If that is the case, check out the article below to change them so you can open it again.

My i tunes upgraded to the latest version and from that time i can't run them. When i click to i tunes, i have the message error saying that this version of itunes needs a macos x 10.4.3 or later (my macos x is 10.4.1). I uninstall i tunes, and then tried to install itunes 6 from the cd that came with ipod, but i can't install i tunes (it installs only the ipod updater),because i can't check the itunes button.now i don' t have itunes at all!
please can someone answer my question?i've started using mac computer a while ago and i don' t know exactly what to do.

You'll need to go to System Preferences > Software Update and click the Check Now button. You will probably have many updates available, including the OS X v. 10.4.10 Combo Update. Install all of the updates you need, including any available updates for iTunes, then things should start working properly.

    HI,
If resetting doesn't help, tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Restart the iPad by holding down the Sleep/Wake button until you see the red slider. Swipe the slider to the right to power off the iPad. Then hold down the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.
    Try again.

  • Can't open I Tunes (Error message)

I have just tried to open my I Tunes and it is coming up with the following message:
The ITunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (13026)
Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but that hasn't worked.
    Cheers

I have windows 7.  I went into control panel, then select programs, then select programs & features.  Highlight 'iTunes' from the list.  Then select 'repair'.  The program will then reconfigure iTunes.  Once complete I restarted the computer and everything was ok.
