Can't open icloud preferences

When I try to open preferences -> icloud, after a long time the system answer sometihng like 'password error', (my IOS is in spanish, I'm not sure the real english translation)
iCal is unable to open.
Mail only show the menu bar with the whole options disable.
How can I reset iCloud definition in my iMac?
running Mac OS X 10.7.2

Why can't I open iCloud preferences?

When I open Mail, I immediately get a message that says "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "[email protected]". It then tells me to open iCloud preferences to fix the problem. However, when I click the button "iCloud preferences" or the "Later" button, the message briefly goes away and then reappears over and over and over. I can't find anything in iCloud preferences that seems to need changing. The only way to quit Mail is to Force Quit, but the message pane is still there.

If you mean that you are trying to go to iCloud.com in a browser on your iPad, you can't - unless you use a browser that can identify as a desktop browser like iCab Mobile or Mercury. All of the information that is in iCloud is already on your iPad...Notes, documents, contacts Photo Stream, email. There is no need to go to iCloud.com.

This was a big problem when switching from 10.7 to 10.8 and now it seems te be back, bigger than ever when going to 10.9.
All icloud related programs are effected: ical, icloud, adressbook, mail.
Systemprefereces goes easily to 100% cpu load and things like com.apple.icloud or com.apple.internetaccounts turn not responding.
At this moment it does not crash on my imac 2012. It still crashes om the imac 2009 and macbook 2009.
Someone mentioned to use keychain repair but that must be done in English mode!. It crashed in dutch mode.
I have not found a overall solution yet.
Will keep on looking or go back to good old 10.8.5.

I go to IC Preferences but there is nothing I can fix there that is relative.
My outbox is no longer working in MAIL so I cannot email out. I have to use my wife's MBP to send emails.
I can get emails. I didn't change anything in m,ail preferences, so what is Apple doing to me?

I also have had this problem and see no resolution - signed out of my account and signed in again, did not get any resolution to the problem. done this twice. Is Apple addressing this? I thought that 10.10.1 would resolve this but found to my dismay that there has been no resolution. Each time I log out of iCloud and then sign in again, there is a time lag before all my files in iCloud become accessible so have stopped trying this remedy. I also have issues with iTunes where am asked for my password 4 times before I can log in. Would like to know if there is anything in the pipeline to remedy/rectify this problem. Issues with bad internet connectivity have improved but are still there. Wish Apple would spend some more time in testing and resolving issues before releasing new software.

My question is:- Periodically when closing down Safari and only the application Safari i get the message:-

I don't understand this because there is no problem with "my Apple ID" and if there is what should I do when opening iCloud preferences to fix the problem.
Would appreciate some positive answer to stop this message from appearing and to resolve this problem.

I do not use the Safari browser, and I also get this error message. I also have not updated to Yosemite. I am able to log into iCloud using my Apple ID and password, so I know that there is no issue with my login credentials. However, so far I have not been able to determine what is causing this message.

Can't open iCloud directly on the Pages

I had a problem to open the iCloud Pages file directly on my MacBook Air Pages
My Pages version show as below:
Pages '09
version 4.2 (1008)
OS X
version 10.8.2
I enable the iCloud on my MacBook Air which I can sycn my contact list from the iCloud to my Contacts. However, no matter how I try and I still can't open iCloud Pages file directly on my MacBook Air. Please let me know do I need to do any extra setup or enable anything? Thank very much.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Open System Preferences > iCloud, and check if "Documents & Data" is turned on. If not, turn on that option. Also, open  > Software Update and install the most recent iWork version

Pages downloaded, but I still can't open iCloud pages from iPad. Says that I need a new version of Pages on my Mac

It appears that you are launching the old version, probably using an icon in your Dock. That icon is an alias & is not updated. You will need to go to your Applications folder & find the new Pages 5 icon & double-click it. Once it is launched, you can right-click on the icon & choose Options > keep in Dock from the contextual menu.

My "Apple ID is valid but can't open icloud account" is the message I receive when I try to sign in to icloud so how do i proceed? I want to install to my ipad and iphone Apple's locator service in my systems, I have a PC for work reasons where I do my apple safari and Itunes and now installed icloud but I don't recall having an icloud account. I guess I do have an accout but how do I not confuse it with my current Apple Id account as I retrieve or create a new icould account? Thanks.

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID. You can only sign into an existing account on a PC. You first have to create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

Can't open keyboard/preferences in lion

I've downloaded lion over the week-end.
Installation went ok but I am getting a few strange behaviors:
1- When selecting "shut down" from my account nothing happens. I have to first log out and then log out!!
2- When trying to access system preferences + keyboard I first get a message saying it has to restart the "system preference" to access the option. The system preference is then restarted (I note that at the top it now indicates "system preferences 32-bit") and then a pop up window says "you can't open Keyboard preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based MAC".
I actually doubt that!!!
3- Last thing is that when installing xcode 4.1 the tool indicated at some point I had to close safari to continue installation. I did so but the installation did not continue. I had to restart the computer and reintall xcode (without safari opened) to get a successful installation.
I can survive with (1) & (3) but question (2) is really annoying as I can't customize my mac.
By the way I am using a macbook pro (2.53 GHz intel core 2 duo with lion (11A511).
Any help would be welcome.

I've been getting the error message "The disk you inserted was not readable by the computer". I can't open system preferences, disk utility, or Time Machine. I'm guessing it has something to do with my external hard drive, although it hasn't been touched.

Thanks for your quick response. I had a look at your discussion... I tried it on a Windows machine and I thought that was compatible with ExFAT?
Therefore I need to attempt to use my external hard drive with a machine that boasts OS X 10.6.5 or above and then it should work?

I can't use or create a guest account, 'cause it's in system preferenses, and last user did't create it neiher. When i try to change user, i can only see account of last user. I go to <accounts>, and it shows me that:

You can't open Detour preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based

i downloaded a program called 'Detour'
it clearly should not have been installed on this computer.
it is not in my applications folder, however it is a pane in my preference program. the error that comes up is this:
"You can’t open Detour preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac"
how do i find this troublesome program and delete it for good?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It may just be the preference pane. Right click on the Pref Pane in System Preferences and "Remove".
Is it interfering anywhere else?
If the app is not in your Applications folder and it exists, look in the Utilities folder.
Alternatively, try AppCleaner

Can't open Icloud. "The entry point not found". Can't reinstall until I open Icloud and log out but I can't access it.

I am trying to re-install Icloud, however I can't redownload until I uninstall Icloud, but I can't uninstall until I log out in the Icloud Control Panel. The problem is that I can't open Icloud to log out because it says Entry point not found. I'm having an issue with all aspects of this!

I see you still have your smc0. I'm working on my first attempt at OSB and Oracle support said we have to remove rmt0, rmt1, smc0 before we can install OSB. They saw it in the device list and said those devices must already be taken.
Is you setup working for OSB and regular mksysb & sysback too with the Atape.driver?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to access an iCloud serivces through Safari on an iOS device at this time. However, you will need to access these services a different way as they are built into the iOS. I am not sure which feature you are attempting to access, but here is some information that you will find helpful.

I can't open Icloud Photos.

I can't open Icloud Photos. It says It is preparing my library but it won't open even after waiting for hours. My storage isn't full. I've tried different browsers and I have turned my computer on and off.

iCloud doesn't work that way.
You take images on your iOS 5.1 devices and Photo Stream "pushes" the images via Wi-Fi connection to your other devices and computers.
You take a picture using your iPhone and it is sent to your computer or other iOS 5.1 devices. You can't view the images online unless you use iOS 5.1 version of iPhoto ($4.99) to create "Journals". Journals are Web based viewing.
