Can't open iTunes in Leopard...

I recently upgraded my iBook G4 to Leopard OS X. All is running smoothly except iTunes. When I attempt to open it, the message reads
"The file iTunes Library cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes."
I can only get it open if I put in a CD so it opens automatically. All of my music is still there, but I cannot open iTunes without inserting a CD. I updated to the newest version of iTunes and have tried restarting my computer, but I still get the same message and cannot open it.
What do I do? I know my music is not lost, but I cannot simply open it up and play! Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or know how to fix it?

Same here. I cannot launch Aperture. Icon bounces about 6 times in the dock, then nothing. The startup window just stays there until I force quit.
I, too, have repaired permissions, thrown away aperture plist (preferences) restarted my MacPro. My lastest attempt was a reinstall of Aperture.
Still nothing.
I know its not totally a Leopard thing as I have been able to launch it on occasion. I have not been able to pinpoint why it works every once in a while (about once every dozen or so attempts)
This has me puzzled. Its also very irritating.
