Can't Open ITunes Program at All

Two days ago, the program was fine. Today, I can't open at all, not even to sync. Running OS Vista. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Well I had my father strip all Apple products from the PC using the utility and install the standalone Quicktime.
At that point we tried to simply open Quicktime to see if we would get ANY error.
Oh we got one. We got the mother of all errors: The Dreaded Buffer Overrun.
For anyone following this thread...this seems to be the heart and soul of all iTunes not opening problems. This is something that has been going on since this past spring; but is now a huge problem with all the headaches going on this Christmas morning/afternoon.
A lot of iPods/iPhones will be getting returned if Apple doesn't do something quickly.
Repeat...this is not a new issue. And at present, it is an issue that has not been addressed. I've told my dad to return the iPhone & I certainly will not be buying one till Apple does something. I've never seen the buffer overrun on my PC, but the fact that has existed this long is irresponsible.

  • Error message when updating Itunes...can not open Itunes program

I am recieving error message when updating Itunes for my computer.  The error message reads "MSVCR80.dll is missing and the other error message reads Error 7  (Windows error 126)"  I can not open my Itunes.  I have reloaded the Itunes onto my computer but still have the same error messages.  Please help.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • HT1926 Latest iTunes software wont completely download and now I can't open iTunes at all?

Hi!   I really hope someone can help me with this-
iTunes just had a popup that there was new software to install, so I chose the update to iTunes.  The download was almost finished, but then it stopped and said there was a problem with the download (obviously) and to try to install it from within the program.  Fine by me.  Only, I can't open iTunes now??  It tells me that, "The item refered to by this shortcut cannot be accessed.  You may not have the appropriate permissions."
I'm not even going to try and pretend that I know what that means, lol.  I searched my entire computer for iTunes and every shortcut/folder/etc with 'iTunes' in it gives me an error message of some sorts.  D:
I even tried to re-download iTunes from this site, but it gets halfway and then gives me error message 2324.
What do I do from here?  I really don't want to uninstall iTunes (if it even still exists on my computer) because I'm afraid I'll all the modified song information that I just spent literately hours updating last week.  >_<

Similar problem here.  iTunes11 notified me it was available.  However, auto-update failed.  So, I downloaded for manual update.  That failed with "permission" message.  I am administrator on this machine (WIN7).  I tried uninstalling old version, but it failed with same permission issue.  I now can't start iTunes... throws permission message.  So, I'm completely dead in the water.  Does this stuff get tested before it's shipped?

  • "The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." Updates were only offered by Apple when I'd open iTunes. Now I can't open iTunes. How can I access the newest iTunes as an update, not a new program?

this just started w/ me yesterday.  I was running 10.5.3, and nothing changed - the message just appeard out of nowhere.  I update to the latest iTunes 10.6 but the message is the same.
Sounds like probably some sort of Library file corruption.
The two options available in the message box are "Download" and "Quit".  Download is useless because I'm already running the latest.  Quit is pretty useless.
I was going to just create a new Library and re-import all my music.  Of course, all my iPhone sync settings are going go have to be recreated.

  • I tried to download the latest itunes update, but received an error and now can't open itunes at all. Help?

i tried to download the latest itunes update, but received an error and now can't open itunes at all. Help?

    Hello bajura007,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
When you get to the step to uninstall iTunes, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

  • I can not open iTunes at all, Warning: (13010). Any idea?

I can not open iTunes at all. Amy idea?? best, elmo

    Hi, zazaza626.
I can't open it through the the shortcut or anything! Not just the store, but it all, like my library or anything!
Let's try to get an idea of what might be going on with some preliminary questions from b noir's "smack" for iTunes launch failures:
Is there an error message associated with the launch failure?
If so, what does it say and what (if any) error numbers are there?
If there's not an error mesage, let's check your QuickTime (its well-being is a prerequisite to a functioning iTunes).
Go to the XP Start menu > All Programs and try running QuickTime.
    Does it start?
If not, then the same question as for iTunes - is there an error message?
If so, what does it say and what (if any) error numbers are there?
Do you notice any other peculiar behavior with QuickTime?

  • Hello all.   Hope someone can help me. I recently downloaded some  updates for my imac.  Since doing this the computer starts up but I get no logon box.  The home screen opens but I can't open any programs or files. I've tried rebooting, no joy. Help!!

Hello all..   I hope someone here can help.  I recently downloaded some updates to my imac.  Since then the computer starts but I get the home screen opening without the logon box.    I can't open any programs or files and if I click on the Safari tab it disappears from the dock.  I've tried rebooting with no joy.
I contacted technical help at Apple and was told to hold down the ctrl and alt keys with two other keys, I think the S or P keys when powering up. This worked
and the computer seemed fine but now the problem has reappeared.  Is there a way to removed downloaded updates from the computer or revert it to an earlier state?   Sorry for the long question. Hopefully one of you clever people can help.   Simon

I have a hard drive icon on my desktop that says 10.6.2....
I use to have iphoto, it doesnt open anymore, it says there is 1.2gigs on that disk. There are many things on here that are the same way. Where do I start?
It's always good to go with one thing at a time and stay focused on that. Let's start with the OS you're running. Click on the Apple menu > About This Mac. What does it say under Mac OS X version ?

You supply little pertinent about the MBP and the iPhone.
First... on the MBP... Click on the Apple icon.. Top left in Finder...
 > About this Mac > Version...what does it say?
Which iPhone and what is its' iOS Version.

  • Failed iTunes update - now I can't open iTunes at all

iTunes update on Windows 7 failed - laptop was accidentally shut down.  Now I can't open iTunes - I get these messages:
    Runtime Error!
    Program:C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
and when I OK that there is a following message:
iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 1114)
Unfortunately, for some reason my laptop will not allow me to uninstall iTunes (erroneously says I don't have administrative authority).
I've tried restoring the system to a date prior to the iTunes update but that hasn't worked either.
I'm not particularly computer savvy so is there anyone out there who can offer some advice please?

    Hi there,
Earlier iTunes (and supporting applications) need to be completely uninstalled before you can install the new version. Here's the complete Apple info on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Mobile device application will most likely fail to uninstall, so you would need to visit its location(s) and manually delete the files THEN folder(s). The location of the folders is documented in this link from Apple.

Try removing iTunes, Apple Application Support, and the related Apple software using Control Panel. For a walkthough on the process, check out this Apple document -> Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Then try downloading and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes from here -> Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now

Grayed out whee? Computer? On iPod?
If in iPod that means the music files got corrupted and are lost.
