after then i istall lion ,if i open Keychain Access ,dont open it and i read this message" i can't open Keychain Access for a problem"
for mi this is a big problem i can't lost every my keys
    help me please

    OK, let's try this...
Create a new User go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the apps in this new account, if they work the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide.
If the issue is limited to your user account try starting up in Safe Mode  (It will take more time to startup because it runs a directory check.)
If your Keychain functions correctly that way, go to Keychain menu and "Rebuild Keychain. If not go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to/Users/yourname/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving/Users/yourname/Library/Fonts to your desktop.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
    * Again, Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library"

  • Open Keychain Access... shortcut don't work

What have I done wrong? Should this not work?

I think I finally solved my problem, and the solution is related to the first one I suggested, but goes another step. If you are no longer having the problem, ignore this step. But in my case, I changed the lock settings and sleep settings and it still did not solve my problem.
What DID solve the problem was a series of somewhat illogical steps, as follows:
    Open Keychain Access
under Edit menu select Keychain List
you will see a list of the keychains recognized by Keychain Access. If you are using any keychains other than login and System, make sure they show there. If not, use the "+" button to add the missing one. This should open to your Keychain folder (which is within your user Library.) Double-click to add a missing keychain (iCloud keychain does not show up there, so don't look for it.)
I took the login keychain and clicked on Shared. This 'disappeared' it from the list.
I then ran Keychain First Aid and it said settings for login keychains might cause problems because (they had re-set themselves to) "lock on sleep" and "lock in five minutes" were turned on again. First Aid fixed this by itself.
Then I went to my library->Keychains folder and double-clicked the login keychain, which then reappeared in the left hand panel of Keychain Access. You probably can do this just by going back to the Edit Keychain window and clicking the "+" (no need to poke around in the Keychains folder, which can be hard to find if you haven't told OS X to make your library visible. I went back to the Keychain List, and turned off Shared. Ran Keychain First Aid one more time. It has been an hour blessedly free of irritating requests for my keychain password.

  • Can't open keychain in Lion.

    Hello everyone
At my school, we got a login to acces the internet. However, lately I'm having huge internet problems with safari. It simply couldn't load anything at all, not even localhost or my MAMP server. I'm posting this from Aurora, which is a firefox version, through TOR. Chrome don't work either, but I like safari very much, and I don't wanna change browser. I'm using a MBP from '08 and running OS X 10.7.2.
The IT guy at school managed to get it working. In the Keychain, I have to disable OSCP and CRL under certificate settings. Here's a pic.
But... This led me to the next problem. When i open Keychain, it freezes and I can't do anything. I have tried to replace the current keychain.app with a time machine version from august. But the problem persists.
I tried to take a procces test from activity monitor, but when it's like 99% done, it freezes.
I have checked in consol, but couldn't find anything related.
I googled "can't open keychain lion" and found http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1435689.htm. They suggest a repair of the HDD using disc utillity when started in recovery mode. I did that, and it found some kind of fatal error. I can't post the whole repport, since I can't do it when booted into OS X. But it was something about a bad amount of blocks. Like I had 947464646 instead of 94746419. I should back my stuff up and do a fresh install of Lion.
Is there an easier method to open the keychain? That don't involve a complete reinstall?
    Thanks in advance

Ah. It was the Font Explorer X plug in.
Finally found another thread w/ the same problem.
Which makes this the best thread evah!

  • Can't open keychain after update to 10.9.5

After i update to Mac OS 10.9.5, i find out that some of the program in Utilities; can't open it; such as Bluetooth File Exchange, Boot Camp Assistant, Console, Keychain Access, System Information and VoiceOver Utility. I don't know why this happen. Can anyone able to help me?

    Try running the combo update.
    10.9.5 Combo Update
If that doesn't work, try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

Having gone through Finder-Applications-Utilities-Keychain Access app, the result is a Problem report for Keychain Access, namely  :-

Can anyone help me resolve this problem, please?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try to launch Keychain Access. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Numbers can't open excel files that requires a password

How can I open an excel file that requires a password? I recently purchased the 'Numbers' program and I get an error message saying that Numbers cannot open an encrypted file. However, I can open and view the file (but not edit).
    Apple needs to fix this!
Any suggestions on how to open a password protected file using Numbers?
    Thanks,
    Curtis

    Thanks
I compared the beginning of your file to the beginning of two XL ones which are on my machine (in fact, they are files created with openOffice).
You may see that there are many differences.
They may explain the different behaviour.
If someone is able to drive Excel with an AppleScript,
he may write a script opening your document in Excel,
    saving it
opening the newly saved file in Numbers.
As I don't own Excel, I ignore its required syntax so I can't write a clean script.
If the XL's syntax is the same than the Numbers one, this quick and dirty one may do the trick :
set aFile to (path to desktop as text) & "Treatment Report No Header.xls"
    tell application "System Events"
set aName to name of disk item aFile
    end tell
    tell application "Numbers"
    open file aFile
save document 1 (* maybe save document aName *)
close document 1 (* maybe close document aName *)
    end tell
    tell application "Numbers"
    open aFile
    end tell

  • Can I open my G5 to see where the squeaking is coming from?

I made an earlier post about the squeaking noise coming from my G5. Thanks to everyone who tried to help but the sound isn't an electronic squeak, its an aucostic one, such as squeaking wheel or chair. I was wondering while the computer is on, if I could take off the side panel (leaving the see through one on) to see where the noise is coming from. Can you do this or will it shut down?

This squeaking is a result of the pull out fan assembly shaking when turning. The plastic portion when the fan plugs in/pull out gets slightly shaken loose during delivery. Just shutdown you Mac, open it and pull out the fan (in front of the RAM) and then just firmly but not to hard push the fan assembly back in. Just make sure it is in there nice and good.
I had the same thing happen to me when I first got my G5. It took me couple weeks to figure out where the squeak was coming from. One more thing, just be sure to always have a can of compressed air handy because the G5 has a real good tendency to suck in dust from the room. Clean your G5 around every two months to keep it clear of dust.

  • Can't open the "Access Privileges" in the Sharing preference pane.

    Hi to all:
I am having this problem, I have a small network on my office, and I am using VNC to manage all my computers inside my firewall (router), but on my iBook G4 (10.4.11) I press the "Access Privileges" button on the sharing System Preference.
Any idea on how to make it appear? This is the only computer I can't manage over VNC, since it is My computer, and I manage every other computer from that one I never nedded to set this thing before, but now I whant to manage even my iBook from other computer.
It seems to be something wrong with the pane. I have fixed permissions, but still can't work...
Please, any help would be nice.

    Hi Pablo,
Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, move these files to the Desktop, (if they exist).
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.networkConnect.<12 digit number>.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconnect.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
(You'll need to Trash the originals of these following ones since move only copies them)
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.nat.plist
    Then reboot once more.
It's likely just one or two of those, but thought I should include others that may cause problems, the 2 most likely are...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.nat.plist

  • How can I open two tabs and see two windows side by side at the same time?

The instruction I found on the web about using | between web addresses did not work. I have a Mac. Thanks.

The | character is typically used when creating multiple home pages. If you want two tabs displayed at the same time, you can try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4287/ Fox Splitter] add-on.

  • Can't Open Adobe Reader XI Without a Password

I received an Adobe Reader XI document from a utility company that I cannot open without a Password.  The message I receive is:  The password is incorrect.  Please make sure that Caps Lock is not on by mistake, and try again”. However, I’ve tried my Adobe password, and the password I use to access my utility account from the company that send the PDF and neither work.  I’m at a loss.  Anyone with advice?   I would certainly appreciate it.

    Hi ,
The PDF you are trying to access seems to be encrypted .
I would suggest you to follow the error message you are receiving .Please make sure the password you are typing in is correct .
You could verify the password with the person who created and encrypted the PDF .The password used here would be different from your account' password .
The best option would be connect the the creator of the PDF or if there are any instructions given along with the PDF on how to access it ,please refer that .
Adobe would not be of much help in this case .
    Regards
