Can't open libraries using Aperture 3.3.

After upgrading to Aperture 3.3 none of my libraries (not one, not even a new one) will open. Instead I get a spinning wheel with the message "Opening aperture library." I have done a number of things in response. I deleted every file related to Aperture on my main hard drive (that I could find searching with keyword "aperture") and other drives on my Mac(FYI: MacPro 2X3GHzQuad,32Gig Ram,6T memory, 10.7.4, 4 drives). I re-installed Aperture (4 times now), the last time after installing Aperture 2, then upgrading to 3.3. After re-installing Aperture and updating, the libraries open just fine for a few openings then suddenly without any warning, the libraries fail to open. Once one library fails, they all fail, even a new, empty library. In addition to rebuilding the library, I have tried opening with the shift key down, and I have tried using Aperuture as different users. There's no remedy. I opened console to look for a crash log but there's nothing there (maybe it's not crashing, just not opening). If I try to open the libraries located on my MacPro (desktop) using Aperture installed on my MacBook Pro, I have no problem (suggesting that the libraries are okay). The problem seems to be within the application. Any ideas?

Hi Kirby. I came to the conclusion that the problem is idiocyncratic and not likely fixable. So I decided to erase one of the four drives in my MacPro and then re-installed a fresh Lion 10.7.4, after which I installed Aperture 2.2 then upgraded to 3.0, and finally 3.3.1. I then was able to open all the libraries that I couldn't open using the Aperture 3.3.1 on what was my main drive in the MacPro. So, at least I have a solution on that computer. I opened and closed it many times as well as restarted the computer many times. The libraries continue to open. Afterwards, I felt confident enough with my re-installation that I restarted with the drive with the "bad" Aperture. I tossed everything I could including any app that I don't use much and every preference file that was unrelated to frequently used applications as well as aperture preferences. Nothing helped. I still can't open the libraries. I haven't re-installed Aperture, but I will probably try that too, but since I've re-installed 3 or 4 times, I don't expect that procedure to help.
Anyway, I felt I should continue this discussion since this problem is likely to affect others since it affects me. Although I have no solution, I did come up with a workaround using a second drive on the Mac (not something everyone will have).
I want to thank those of you who have attempted to help with this rather peculiar problem.

thx but the only thing that happens when I open Adobe Reader is that a small icon appears in the bottom-line. There is no dialogue box where I can accept!

LibreOffice will not run Excel macros (read below) without some work, it's not a good solution, I also do not think that the free online version of MS Office (comes with OneDrive) has VBA, so no macros there either.
Bottom line is if you want to run macros from Excel, you'll need Excel. Preferably the Windows version (the Mac version may be better than Pages, but it's a toy in comparison to the real Excel)

With a few exceptions, Microsoft Office and LibreOffice cannot run the same macro code. Microsoft Office uses VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code, and LibreOffice uses Basic code based on the LibreOffice API (Application Program Interface) environment. Although the programming language is the same, the objects and methods are different.
The most recent versions of LibreOffice can run some Excel Visual Basic scripts if you enable this feature at LibreOffice - PreferencesTools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties.
If you use macros in one of the applications and want to use the same functionality in the other application, you must edit the macros. LibreOffice can load the macros that are contained within Microsoft Office files and you can then view and edit the macro code in the LibreOffice Basic IDE editor.
You can choose to preserve or delete VBA macros
Open a Microsoft Office document that contains VBA macro code. Change only the normal contents (text, cells, graphics), and do not edit the macros. Save the document as a Microsoft Office file type. Open the file in Microsoft Office, and the VBA macros will run as before.
You may delete the VBA macros from the Microsoft Office file on loading or on saving.
Choose Tools - Options - Load/Save - VBA Properties to set the VBA macro handling of LibreOffice.

As you dont say what happens when you try to open it... I'm assuming you cannot find it.... which means you might be looking in the library for it and it will not be there..
1) In Logic's Prefs turn on all the advanced tools. Now Logic will work in full 'Logic Pro' mode with all features available... and not the cutdown 'Garageband Pro' mode..
2) Create a Software Instrument Track, unchecking Open Library... If you cannot see the Open Library check box click on Details...
3) Click on the Instrument Button for that track in the channel strip
4) Look for the AU Instrument section of the popup menu that will appear..
5) Find Spire listed there.. Click on it...

We have several PC's in the union office. As a test I got on the one Mac (in fact I'm on it now). Disconnected the network cable and got to this page via the wireless connection.
I am the computer guru for the union (but there is a network guy). This computer is connected to the same network, same password, nothing special.
I added the iPhone MAC address to the router just this morning. I got on the first web page I went to but that was all it did all day.
Rebooted the router twice and unplugged and reset once.

Pages is available for MAC OSX and iOS, it doesn't run on windows at all. You can, however, use the iCloud version from within your browser (www.icloud.com, assuming you have set up an iCloud account).
Pages will open an MS word document, but converts it to Pages format. It can be reconverted to Word upon export, but some functionality may be lost (going either way).

I just tried to add a picture to my iPhoto (v9.2.3) library and got the error message
so then I tried to open aperture (verion 3.3) and got this error message
Then I clicked upgrade and got another error message
I just purchased and installed the latest aperture update from the app store.
I understand that that Apple has merged the libraries of iPhoto and Aperture to make things work seamlessly. I have not been using Aperture but I sure do want to continue using iPhoto.
Where should one start to get things working again?

There are 4 or 5 similar threads on the forum right now. It's defintiely a glitch. I've not been affected myself on either of my machines, but some folks are having problems.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Can't open google using any browsers in mac

Recently I can't open google and any google related websites like google translate using my macbook pro.
I have tried different browsers, like firefox, safari and google chrome. None of them works.
Also, I tried different network. I have tried to open google under my home network, my office network and other public networks. None of them works.
And I have tried using Network Utility to tracerout. It can't stop and keep tracing. Shown as below.

I have the same problem trying to imports clips from my new Camileo h30 (set in HD720 30FP).
In my case, it's possible to import the clips, but after scene detection, in the film preview window, the film is displayed with big white horizontal lines,
The video is set in HD 720 as soon as the studio project.
It look like an interlace problem?

Can't opening libraries in newer version of Aperture 3.5.1 - Please help!

I just updated to Aperture 3.5.1 from version 3.0. When I try to open a prior library with menu option: File => Switch to Library => Other/New => Select Existing Library, I get a message to "Relaunch" Aperture with the new library. I try this, but my older version library does not open and I cannot access my photos. I hope this is a simple solution that this community can help me resolve.

Try to double click the old library in the Finder, to open it directly in Aperture.
Is the old library on your system drive or an external drive?
