Can't open "Music" on iPhone after loading iTunes match iCloud

When I open "Music" after a while the iPhone return to the start. And on my iPad I can find only a part of my songs, placed in iCloud.

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
Regards.

  • Can't sync music to iPhone after iOS 5 upgrade

    Help. PLEASE HELP.
So here's what happened. I finally took the plunge and upgraded my iPhone 4 to OS 5. To my surprise, everything seemed fine... until I opened the Music app and there was NO music. No playlists, no albums, NO songs. Only a message that said "No Content You can download music from iTunes." With more than 10,000 songs in my iTunes library, i have no shortage of music. So, I tried syncing it again the next night and when iTunes opened, a window popped up saying that my last restore was stopped and asked if I would like to continue so i said yes. After a few minutes of waiting for the restore to complete, i got a window saying that it couldn't finish the restore and gave me error number (-36). I tried again, and this time it looked like it loaded my playlists, but when I opened them all of the songs were greyed and I couldn't play them. I hit the forums to find an answer, and after a few solutions (such as playing a song in its entirety in the device drop down menu and then resyncing) I was able to load SOME of the songs, but about 348 would not load. I tried restoring it again... and again... and again. Nothing worked to get the last songs on the phone, and I kept either getting error messages (-36) or (-47). Finally I was about to go onto the summary page from the device menu, but I couldn't . Everytime I connect my phone to my computer and iTunes, it is stuck on the "Set Up Your iPhone" screen, so my only option is to restore... again. I'm going in circles here, people. I'm flying out of town tomorrow for a few days, and i can't bare the thought of traveling without music.

  • Can't sync music to iphone after a restore from back up

I Recently backed up my itunes library to external hard drive to move it to a new PC.  Now on my new PC I have the album files showing in my itunes folder but when I click on them they are showing empty so I though I had lost all my music.  However when I opened itunes it searched my PC and restores my library as it was before.  The problem now is I cannot update any songs on my iphone it is still showing what I had installed on it before I done the backup.  I have us synced music in itunes and when I connect my iphone it is showing no music on it and about 8 gb free but when I look at my phone the music is still there and it is only showing about 500mb free on there?

  • Can't add music to iPhone 5 from iTunes 11

I am trying to manually add music to my iPhone 5 from iTunes 11. After dragging and dropping music onto the device, it appears under the music section of the device, except it is greyed out. I can't play the music, and when I check on the phone, the music isn't there.

    I figured it out...
Go to the playlist on your computer that you want to add to your device.
    1. Hightlight the song so you see the arrow and click on it.
    2. Click "Add To" and select the device and playlist you want to add it to.
You may have to create a new playlist on the device first and THEN add the music from your computer to the device.
Or highlight all the songs, right-click on the selection, and tell it to add to the playlist on the device...

  • Can't download music - seems to be an iTunes Match problem

I have iTunes Match activated, which is working fine on my iPad and iPhone.  However I cannot download purchased music onto the iMac.
In my household there is a shared iMac and each user has a different login & password.  Only I know my login password.  I have been using iTunes successfully on it for years, and have been using iTunes successfully for about 6 months now.  Auto-download has been disabled for several months now because I don't want everything downloaded automatically.  All has been fine until about a fortnight ago when the iMac stopped downloading newly purchased music whenever I clicked the little iCloud icon.  This is for music that I have successfully purchased and downloaded on my iPhone whilst at work, and now want to listen to at home.  Whenever I click the iCloud icon to download the new song I get an error message telling me that the computer is already associated with an Apple ID, and I have to wait 54 days etc to sign in with a new Apple ID.  However I'm certain no other Apple ID has been used with my account - when I go to the Store menu it is showing my current and correct Apple ID.
The most telling proof that my Apple ID is correct on both iMac and iPhone (and iPad as well) is that when I plug the iPhone into the iMac, the new music syncs across EXACTLY as it should - and it can then be played without problems.  Both the phone and the computer are correctly logged in to the same Apple ID, which is the same Apple ID that I use for iTunes Match.  Also when I click Store -> Update iTunes Match there appears to be no Apple ID conflict.
Obviously this is an iTunes Match problem which I cannot resolve, can someone please provide assistance / advice.

  • HT4914 Can I store music in the cloud using iTunes Match from another computer with a different Apple ID?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You can't transfer music (nor any other content) from one account to another account, it will remain tied to the account that downloaded it. Also home sharing only works from a computer to a device (or to another computer), it doesn't work between iOS devices.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be redownloaded in all countries) then he could potentially log into your account on his iPod (I assume that it's an iPod Touch) and redownload his music on it, but that might tie his iPod to your account for 90 days : iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID.

  • Can't copy music to iphone 4 from iTunes after re-imaging laptop

I used to be able to copy music from iTunes (latest one) to my iPhone 4 wihtout any issues.  I re-imaged my laptop due to performance issues and then updated iTunes to the latest version again.  When I tried to copy music from it to my iphone 4, I get the little denial symbol (greyed out).  The laptop is authorized.  What's the problem?  Thank you for any help you can give me.

Update:  I backed up my music, and then did a sync with itunes.  I still can't copy any music to my iphone.  Any ideas?

  • Can't move music to iPhone after reinstalling OS.

I was on a 64 bit Windows 7 OS and I had to be reimaged to a 32 bit. I tried moving music over to my iPhone and it doesn't let me. I authorized this computer, but I'm not sure what that did. What am I missing?

You can only sync/manage to one computer/library.
When you re-imaged it became a new library. You may have to sync to the new computer, erasing the current content and replacing with content from the new library.

  • Can't Sort music on iPhone played through iTunes

I plug my iPhone into my work computer to listen to music that is only on my iPhone, but I can't sort the music in iTunes [Devices > iPhone > Music]. It's all listed alphabetically by song title. My regular iTunes Library can be sorted but I can't sort my iPhone playlists or anything.

That is how it's supposed to work when you aren't at the computer that music was synced from.
If you want to leave Apple a comment or suggestion about that feature, use the Apple - iPhone - Feedback page.

  • Can no longer shuffle through Podcasts after loading iTunes 7

I listen to a lot of podcasts throughout the day. Some are just a few minutes long and some are over an hour. Instead of individually selecting a podcast after each one played I would select Music -> Genres -> Podcasts and then just hit play. My iPod would then randomly and continuously start playing podcasts. I just bought a new 8gb Nano and upgraded to iTunes 7 and this feature no longer seems to work. Am I missing something? Is there something I need to turn on to make it work again? If not, this would be a serious setback for me. Thanks. Mike

Your best bet will be to create a smart playlist somewhere along the lines with: "Podcast is TRUE" and "Play count is 0". There is one more rule you will have to enter, but will depend on whether you want to include video podcasts or not. The last rule to enter would be "Kind is not MPEG-4 Video file" and/or "Kind is not "Quicktime Movie File". If you wish to include video podcasts, ignore the last rule and only enter the "Podcast is true" and Play count is 0" rule. If video podcasts still show up on your playlist, you may have another kind of video file still in your podcast library. Simply right click on View> View Options> then check the box on Kind. Then scroll to see what other types of video files you may have and add them to the "Kind is not ***" rule.
    Good luck.

  • Can't sync iPod or iPhone after upgrading iTunes to 9.2

Sync begins but after about 30 seconds, iTunes freezes and rotating colorwheel takes over. Only freeze is iTunes, everything else works.
Any idea how to solve this issue?

Bizarre. While I was posting the message, the iPhone sync completed. It took about about 3x longer than normal. So I tried the iPod again and as with the iPhone, the sync completed successfully but took about 5 minutes, 3-4 times longer than usual. In each case iTunes froze until the sync was done and then returned to normal.
Hope the glitch gets fixed by 9.2.2

Also, just updated the phone's software today, and iTunes' software is already up to date.

    Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.
    Cheers,
