Can't open pages by double clicking

DW CS3 was working fine until I started it this morning. I
tried to open a page to be edited by the normal way, double
clicking the file, and instead of it opening in the workspace it
started to upload to the server. Weird. Then I right clicked the
file and clicked on "open" and again it started to upload. I right
clicked again and clicked on "open with Dreamweaver" and it opened
in the workspace. So what do I have cheked or unchecked that needs
to be changed or is this a problem with the software?

What do you mean? Are you not able to switch from "All pages" view of the book to a single page view by double-clicking a selected page? Or what is the problem?
Or can you not open the book at all from the source list?

then something is wrong with your system and not the DVd as may have been suspected. you can always install the optional packages by booting directly from the DVd as i said but you should figure out why it does not work normally. make a new user account and log into it. can you do it from there?

Can you open the application from programs list ?
Also, please verify if the application is installed correctly and if not then probably a re-installation would be required.

My trackpad can't open file with double click

i don't know what's going on, but my trackpad can't open file with double click. i have to open it with right click, open or open with. i've tried to fix it in the system preferences, it didn't work out well.

William - you are wonderful! I had looked at that - they were set to 'internal' which seemed like RH...but selecting the 'design view' and then reselecting 'use default editor' instead of 'auto-select editor' did it. THANK YOU!!!!!

Can't Open Files with Double Click??

I am on 10.8.3 Mountain Lion and when using the trackpad or my wireless bluetooth mouse, I cannot open files by double clicking all of a sudden. This is a serious problem as I cannot view my video files in Final Cut Pro. There is no click speed preference in System Preferences and I have no idea what to do. I don't want to have to right click to open any file on my Mac. Does anybody have a solution for this? Thanks

I solved the problem. If you go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse and Trackpad - You can set the speed of the double click to be much slower. Hope this helps someone else with a similar problem.

(i'm japanese and english is my second language so..) anway.... i can't open the files on desk top by double click. if i go to Finder then i can open files... and some files i can open by double click. i downloaded Limewire but i can't install it because my couble click is not working for that. but i can double click to open photoshop, safari or email or some other things in the dock. and i couldn't open up the games either.. doesn anybody knows what's happened to my son's computer? it's a iMac flat panel G4. and OS X 10.3.9. Saw your response and started to write to you for help also but have, with one final try, found PART of my problem. I have a Logitech wired optical mouse that worked with everything except opening desktop volumes when I double clicked on them. I could open applications and documents within the Finder window....just not the desktop volume icons.
I ran Disk Utility........verified all the volumes........repaired all permissions, unplugged mouse and reset. Logitech software is up to date.. I've never had this happen before.
What I discovered was that I was double clicking to open the volumes, but had the mouse set for single click. It's still a little strange because I changed it to double click to open and now it opens with double OR single click. Now I can open the volumes but it won't allow me to move the Finder windows that open. I can't drag or move them on the desktop; have to use them where they open.
Any suggestions for me, I hope? Thanks.

Can't open subVI by double clicking

This is just irritating the heck out of me. I have a subVI that doesn't seem to be working as I think it should. I'm not sure if it is my problem or the subVI's. But that's not what's bothering me.
If I double-click on the subVI icon (on the back panel of the parent subVI) nothing happens. The subVI does not open. If I right click on the icon and select Open, then the subVI will open. I can open all of the other subVIs on the back panel by double clicking on their icons.What parallel universe have I accidentally entered and how do I get back. I have two hungry daschunds waiting for me.

I said I couldn't open the subVI. I didn't know if the subVI or its
parent was the problem. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it turns out mercurio had the winning solution.
Also, LabVIEW knows about the
error-list-causing-crashes problem and has a (mickey mouse but it
works) fix for it that involves putting a big cluster on my front
panel.
I
inherited this program. Most of the time I am busy trying to figure out
if the user has found a bug or a really creative way of screwing things
up, adding new features to the code, and getting out the latest
executable along with the latest and greatest user manual. This is a
small company. The previous programmer, who is now my supervisor, is a
very talented electrical engineer whos code works fine but looks like a
circuit board. There are several huge, complicated subVIs that I would
love to refactor. According to the VI analyzer, this program has 600+
local variables and 300+ global variables. I would love to clean all of
that crud up, but I don't get paid to fix things that already work. I
am not allowed to use object oriented concepts or any kind of
semaphores because they confuse my supervisor. I am working on getting
them to let me use some kind of source control program. This program
has close to 500 subVIs in it and keeping track of changes is becoming
too time consuming.

Sublime Text 2 won't open files with double click

Hi, this is my first time asking for something.
Well, i've been using Scribes, but sometimes i need tabs in my text editor, so i installed Sublime Text 2.
The problem is that i can't open files with double click, i need to use "subl filename" and that it's not funny :S
If i double click a file ST2 opens, but with a tab named "file" and without content.
Is there a fix for that?

the reason seems to be a broken desktop file. `/usr/share/applications/sublime-text.desktop` says `Exec=subl %U`, but it should be `%f`. Also the Aur package does not provide a `subl` symlink so you should create one.

Double-tap on the Home button. You will see a preview of the app above the actual icon. Slide the preview up to kill it.

I can't open Pages app on iMac

Hi all, I can't open Pages app on my computer. These are the specs:
iMac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, 2/3 of a TB free storage capacity,
Yosemite version 10.10.2
Originally I had iWork 09 and since I've been updating from the app store since they are available in there. Now version 5.5.2
I wanted to create a new document and explore the templates available for it but when I click the icon of the Pages app or the name in the Finder apps list, it won't open, instead it opens another window for me to choose what I want to open -see pic below-, and as you can see from the light gray color I can't choose the app from there.
I open the app store to see if I needed to update it and it is already done. So I don't know what to do... Can anybody help please? Thanks

If one clicks that extreme left icon, the Favorites panel disappears, leaving the Application view we see posted. Additionally, the OP has the
Finder Preferences ▸ Advanced ▸ All My Files checked, instead of their login directory (house icon).
This just adds to the mayhem. Once Finder Preferences is fixed, then the OP can click Applications, and from that lengthy menu, select their login directory, or Documents.
Why the OP did not just click New Document and review the bundled templates, is a question mark. Or click Launchpad in the Dock, to launch Pages.

What happens when you try? Does double clicking the ?home button bring up the Task Bar of recently used apps? If so what happens when you flick up on the preview screen for the app you want to close?
To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app.
