Can't open Palm program

My Palm software was corrupted? when I was trying to fix another problem. First, my calendar was blank except for repeat dates and the contacts were missing info. I preformed restore a couple of times. Now I can't open Palm at all. I did find files on my Desktop for addresses, memo pad, note pad and to do.
I've tried to reload the Palm software but it can't find the right files on my computer.
I also can't HotSync with my phone. I lost my phone and the replacement wouldn't HotSync!!
So the Centro isn't an option.
Is there anyway to retrieve my Palm files? Can I use Outlook? I tried Outlook but I didn't know the Palm file type?
I don't have any of my clients contacts information!!

Perhaps I can clarify my problem. I have a Palm desktop program. When I instruct it to dial a contact`s telephone number it does so thru my modem. Palm is not connected to Firefox. So, my telephone, modem and Palm contact prog works fine.
I now have an Airset contact list that runs on Firefox. When I instruct the Airset contact`s telephone number to dialup I get the error message "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (callto) isn't associated with any program."
Previous links reference above referred to suggested links from Mozzila given when I put my question to them.

I can't open any programs or files and if I click on the Safari tab it disappears from the dock. I've tried rebooting with no joy.
I contacted technical help at Apple and was told to hold down the ctrl and alt keys with two other keys, I think the S or P keys when powering up. This worked
and the computer seemed fine but now the problem has reappeared. Is there a way to removed downloaded updates from the computer or revert it to an earlier state?   Sorry for the long question. Hopefully one of you clever people can help.   Simon

It's always good to go with one thing at a time and stay focused on that. Let's start with the OS you're running. Click on the Apple menu > About This Mac. What does it say under Mac OS X version ?

Try resetting Photoshop Preferences. Use your Photoshop start icon to launch Photoshop and immediately press and hole Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option keys Photoshop should Prompt you with Do you want your Preferences deleted. Reply yes. Photoshop should then delete your user ID preferences and then create a default set of preferences for your ID and start successfully.

Since up grading to Adobe Reader X when I try to open any program Adobe tries to open it, therefore I can not open any programs now on my computer. I need help very quickly.

I can not open any programs now that I have upgraded to Reader X. It has made Adobe the default progam to open all programs.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

That is because whoever programmed the web site used Internet Explorer extentions. These will only run in Internet Explorer. So, use a computer with Windows to use that web site.

As Pat said, we need to know what program and the text of the error plus some system specs. Those messages are there for a reason, not just for fun.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Computer powers up. Everything looks fine but you can't open any programs. You get an hourglass and then eventually it just says the program isn't responding. I can't even shut it down correctly. It is my son's computer and worked fine then he said it just wouldn't open anything.

Do you see a desktop? A taskbar? What happens when you press Ctrl+Shift+Del?
Can you reach the Windows Recovery Environment?
What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?
If so, try the System Restore first.

Can't Open Any Programs

I had been on Safari for awhile and had to leave the computer for about 10 minutes. When I came back the mouse is responsive, but nothing else is. I can't shut down any program or the computer. I did a forced shut down, and it starts back up just fine but now I can't open any program. The mouse moves around the screen but nothing else seems responsive. After 5 minutes, my screen saver comes on like normal.

what OS are you on - Leopard, Snow Leopard ?
I suggest booting from the install dvd, repairing permissions (just in case) using Disk Utility from the dvd and using the 'repair disk' function too.
You might also see what starting in Safe mode does for you - hold the Shift key on startup
