Can't open PDFs in Netscape with Ver. 7.

I had Reader ver 7 for some time. I am using Netscape ver 7. Awhile back I succumbed to the nag notices and downloaded and installed Reader ver 9. Ver 9 caused problems so I uninstalled it and did a system restore to recover ver 7. Now I can't open pdfs from within the Reader window in Netscape. At first Netscape wouldn't even open Reader but I was able to correct that. However, now it will open Reader in a separate window but locks up whenever I try to download a pdf. I have XP Sp3. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

i've got this error message :
Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement.
but i don't know where i can accept the licene and there is no support for reader 11.
if you have got a solution...

Did you open Adobe Reader on it's own (not through the browser)? If not, you can find it in your applications folder where all your other programs live. Launch it and accept the EULA.

  • I can't open PDF files with adobe flash player

I have installed it and whenever I try to open pdf files it says I need to agree with your liscens and you do that automatically when you download it. I have followed all your instructions on your website and uninstalled it and installed again, but I can't open pdf files with it. I don't know what the problem is exactly, but it's really frustrating..

Flash Player CANNOT open PDFs because they AREN'T Flash Documents.
    Adobe Reader opens PDFs.
To accept the license agreement (NOT the one you accepted to download or install - the one for USE)
    Windows:
Go to: C/Program Files(x86)/Adobe/Reader 11.0/Reader and double click the eula.exe file. The license agreement will open for you to accept.
    Mac:
Go to: Mac HD/Applications and double click the Reader app. The license agreement will open THE FIRST TIME you open it.

    Hi Eidda,
This may because the attachment is a winmail.dat file. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information. Note: the article is written for OS X mail, but does also apply to this situation.

  • Can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X

I can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X. I get this message:
Warning: Distiller will not process .Log, .PDF or .JDF file extensions
What do I need to do to be able to open .pdf files? I could open them previously.

What are you getting the message in response to? Was this a creation of a PDF that resulted in the message? What are you using Distiller for? Distiller can only open PS and EPS files for processing to create a PDF.
PDF files are opened in Acrobat. For opening PDFs, Distiller has nothing to do with the opening. So I really have no idea. It sounds like you may just be having a creation error since you mentioned a log file. If you were creating a PDF, have you checked the LOG file for the errors? The log file is usually located where you were going to create the PDF, but is created as Distiller processes the file (part of the general Acrobat creation process) and is deleted if successful.
If you were trying to create, go back to the original application and print to file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open that file in Distiller to create a PDF. Any errors will be shown in the window and an indication if the PDF was created or not.

I also have the '''pdf''' problem on all web sites. In my opinion Firefox 4 & 5 are not and improvement over FF3. I also have this concern listed on the question page along with 48 others in one week.

  • Can't Open PDFs Inside Firefox

I have installed the latest Adobe Reader 9 and want to open PDF documents inside of the Firefox browser on Vista. No matter what I do, I  always get a popup window asking me if I want to download or open in Adobe Reader when I click on a pdf file. I have Firefox's tools - options -  applications set to "use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)". I have  re-installed Adobe Reader and Firefox with the most recent versions. I  have manually copied the plugin dll from its Adobe directory to the  Firefox directory, over-writing the existing one in Firefox. I have  deleted pluginreg.dat and let Firefox recreate it. None of this does anything for me. My  IE, however, will open PDF files inline with Adobe Reader. Any ideas?

I have the same problem, after installing Adobe Reader Ver 9.4.0.  Using FF Ver 3.6.12 and XP home edition.  Prior to this last Adobe installation, I could always download PDF documents from the Internet.  But now, when I try to download, I first get an all white page for a second or two and then the page goes all black and nothing happens after that.  Have tried it many times, and always get the same result.
I can still open PDFs from those stored on my Hard Drive OK, but I can no longer open or download any PDF from the Internet.
Has to be a defect in the latest Adobe version.  Is there any fix for this?
    Thanks,
    ASC

Hi.  I have a Dell PC running Windows 7 64 bit.  I have the latest version of Adobe Reader,  It worked yesterday.  Today I have job training to do that is due tomorrow morning and I can't open PDF files.  I have to open a guide and read it and take a test tomorrow.  I have deleted and reinstalled the application.  I have rebooted.  I have made sure my PDF's are associated with the program.  Every PDF on my computer won't open and I get the same error message.  It simply says Attempt to access invalid address.  How can I fix this?  Thanks.

    Hi Don,
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.
    Regards,

  • Suddenly Can't Open PDFs. Starting about three days ago firefox will no longer open any PDFs. I get a blank page in a new tab.

Suddenly Can't Open PDFs in Firefox. Starting about three days ago firefox will no longer open any PDFs. I get a blank page in a new tab. Nice timing, with finals and everything where I need to view PDFs of practice tests.

Mozilla Firefox did not do their job, here. I am an editor and am constantly online. Now, I have to go to Safari to download PDFs. I reinstalled an earlier version of Firefox to get rid of the problem, but somehow Firefox has deactivated my PDF download feature. This is a total wreck and I am so angry I could spit. Stop launching new products until you have fully tested them. Customers are not your guinea pigs. Please fix this now- and fire a few idiots on the way- the ones who let this happen.

  • Can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
after I've upgraded to Windows 8.1, I can't open PDF files from Windows Explorer (directly double clicking the file). The AcroRd32.exe runs in the background (2x !) as I see the processes in task manager, but there is no user interface visible. I have Acrobat
Reader 11.0.06, the desktop version (not Metro). I tried uninstalling the Acrobat reader and installing it again but this didn't help. The only way to open PDF files is to close the AcroRd32.exe from the task manager, open empty Acrobat Reader from the desktop
and then drag&drop the PDF file over that window. This is quite inconvenient. Is there a way to fix this issue so I can open PDF files directly from windows explorer?
    Many thanks!

I had to install adobe reader, but   PDF's used to display just fine with IE, any idea what happened ?
    Windows 8.1 pro.

  • I can not open PDF files in safari

I can not open PDF files in safari. How can I fix this problem?

    Back up all data.
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then launch Safari and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
