Can't open photoshop cs5 trial on mac os x after installation

i downloaded ps cs5 trial from adobe.com and installed it but when i try to open the application a message comes up sayin cannot open because minimum system requirement is mac os x but i've got this mac version? any opinions, explanations would be grateful. thanks

I have a mac os x 10.5.8; 1.8 GHz Power PC G5; 2 GB RAM with updated version of QuickTime player, which is the minimal requirement for supporting this application.

I downloaded OSX Yosemite and now I can't open Photoshop CS5. Says I have to download the new Java 6 script, so I did and it still won't open.
I try to open PS but I get a message (unexpected unrecoverable error) I was using PS before I downloaded Yosemite. Could downloading Yosemite some
how corrupted part of PhotoShop? Should I try and reinstall PhotoShop? I have a MacBook Pro 13"; 2011; 4g mem; intel core i5.

You should check with Adobe, but it's likely they'll say that Photoshop CS5 isn't supported on Yosemite and they'll recommend you update to a new CC version, which of course requires a subscription.
It could be that Photoshop requires a Java installation (and probably an old one), that isn't running on Yosemite by default. Java 6 is not "new," it's in fact very old. I do think you can download Java 6 from Apple - check apple.com/support/downloads.

I can not open photoshop CS5! Please help me!

I have had CS5 on my mac for a while now... no problems. All of a sudden photoshop will not open. Icon flashes once... nothing!!! Bridge I can access. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 2x's... still nothing. What can I do?

Can't open Photoshop Elements 6 for mac

I've had Photoshop Elements 6 for mac for over a year and it was working fine although RAW was never able to update. About a week ago I went to open it and it would not open. I've tried daily, have done all Apple updates and all Adobe updates and it still wouldn't open. Then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still won't open. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Over the decades, I've found that HOW you start an application can make a difference. Applications that refused to run when started one way would work very well when started another way. Speaking as an ex-programmer, this shouldn't happen. But someone once said that in theory, there's no difference between theory and practice - but in practice, there is.
You might try to start Elements in different ways to see what happens.
Try to start Elements by going into the Applications folder and actually clicking on the Elements icon.
Try to start Elements by double-clicking on a picture.
Try to start Elements by going into iPhoto, selecting a picture, and clicking on the "Edit" button at the bottom of the screen. I assume you have told iPhoto to open Elements to edit your pictures. I've also told iPhoto to open a picture in iPhoto when I double-click on a picture in iPhoto. I didn't specify that above because I wasn't sure you had done the same.
At some point, you should realize that you're spending a lot of time trying to get an old version of an application to run. Elements 8 is out and is running very well on 10.6.3.
How much time are you willing to spend to get Elements 6 to work? I'm not trying to be a salesman for Adobe, but at some point, you should think of paying the money and buying a copy of Elements 8.

Catch-22: Can't deactivate because I can't open Photoshop CS5

My laptop is malfunctioning in many ways so I plan to have it cleaned up by a computer shop, or (probably) replaced with a new one. I want to deactivate Photoshop CS5 before doing this, but for unknown reasons I cannot open it -- I get a Microsoft error report box every time I try to open it. How can I deactivate when I can't open the program?

Do you also have InDesign or Illustrator on it?
If so you can Deactivate Photoshop through them. Failing that, I think you have to call Adobe Support and they'll deactivate it for you.

Can't open Photoshop CS5 I am required to accept the license agreement but still can't get in ...

I have had the Master Suite CS5 installed on my Macbook Pro for about 3 years now no problems , now it has started asking me to accept the Licence agreement when I try to open any of the applications (Photoshop / iD / Ai etc) .......
but when I click accept it just takes me back to the same window 'Accept / or not the License Agreement - basically going round in circles !! Meanwhile I ahve no access to the software !
I have tried re - installing to no avail ..... , LR 4 and Adobe Bridge still open fine no issues !!
I have carried out full updates of everything, done a system scan with MacKeeper, turned the computer fully off and back on ..... !
Any ideas/ suggestions would be welcome,

Hi Clare, I am having the same problems with my CS5 Design Premium! I got the graphics card replaced in my iMac and since then every time I try to open one of the programs, I get the licence agreement, click accept and it takes me back to the agreement again. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it which worked until I closed one of the programs, then the whole thing started again! If I leave the programs open after I use them it works which I am having to do until I get it sorted! I am just wondering if you managed to get yours working?

Can't open Fireworks CS4 Trial on Mac

Hi,
I just donwload the Fireworks CS4 Trial and install it with no problems.
But when I tried to run it, the yellow fireworks window show, but after a few seconds the programs crashes...
I'm using leopard 10.6.2 on a iMac.
Any suggestions please ?

Can't open photoshop cs5 after installing yosemite

I even tried installing Java as suggested but to no avail. I guess I'm going to have to wait for an update from Adobe unless this is some scheme to try to get me to upgrade.

CS5 predates Yosemite by what is it now, 5 years? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for CS5 to be updated since it's no longer supported.

Trouble installing photoshop CS5 trial on mac (OS 10.6.5)

After the installation has initialized for a bit, I get the message saying that the installation cannot be completed, and suggests I restart the computer (which I have done loads of times) or go to http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ to get help. But the Adobe Support Advisor is not helping (the program starts, but only says "The module found no issues to report for the selected log file. If you continue to have difficulties with the application, please contact Adobe Support") and the adobe air is not willing to install either, it also says that the installation cannot be completed because of error #3010.
What can I do?

Where can I download Photoshop CS6 trial for mac?

I can't download the CC version as I am only on 10.6.8 and the system requirements specify that it has to be 10.7 or higher.

Open Photoshop CS5 and CS6

I can't open Photoshop CS5 and CS6 versions simultaneously. When I launch CS6, and then CS5, it takes me to CS6, and vice versa.
Is it possible to keep open the two versions? With Indesign I can do it.

As far as I know that is normal behavior: only one instance of Photoshop at a time. Forum members have reported running two versions of Photoshop simultaneously using virtual machines on their computer (which emulate separate computers).

This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

Today after a long time I tired to open photoshop CS5.1 on my mac, however it has vanished and I am unable to find it anywhere on my system. I have recently done an update to my system so am unsure if this has affected it in anyway but the only thing I am able to find in Adobe Utilities is an uninstall option? I have tried reopening old saved psd files but these only open up preview. The photoshop I owned was a student version so am unsure if this has something to do with it going away ? Is there a way to get it to come back at all with out having to buy it again?
