Can't open ports on BT home hub 2

Hello I can't open these ports on my BT home hub 2
27000-27015 as UDP
27016-27030 as UDP
27014-27050 as TCP
4380-4380 as UDP

Please see this guide.
Port forwarding problems
If you are trying to forward them all to the same device, then you have overlapping ports and it will not work.
You are trying
27000-27015 as UDP
27016-27030 as UDP
27014-27050 as TCP
4380-4380 as UDP
Try instead
27000-27050 UDP
27000-27050 TCP
4380-4380 UDP
That includes the full range. It does not matter if you forward both TCP and UDP.

  • Cant Open Port 3659 on Home Hub! Please help!

Im having problems with playing Battlefield 3 online. After contacting EA they told me I needed to forward the following ports on my new BT Home Hub 3.0 Firmware Version: 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.11 (Type A):
    TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
    UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300
All of them were applied fine apart from port 3659 where it gives the following error:
It says theres a conflict even if I try only applying this one rule. According to another forum 3659 is actually the most important as it relates to the 'EA Tunnel' so could explain the issues Im having?
If I use an online Port Scanner, some tell me that its blocked and the following one shows that its (TCP version) filtered to 'apple-sasl'. So it looks like maybe its been pre-reserved for Apple products and hence why it cant be forwarded to a more general rule?
Do BT block or throttle any ports? How can I fix this issue?
    Thanks.

Use the IP address not the device name.

  • How can I open ports on my AirPort Extreme, from WINDOWS?

I have an Airport Extreme as my router, and I have a Windows-based computer. I need to open ports on the router (ironically, it is for my Apple TV).
However, even though I can use the Airport Utility for Windows (latest version 5.5.3), I cannot open ports from the application.
Everywhere I look, I am supposed to have a firewall tab in the Advanced section, but I do not have it. The only tabs that I have in Advanced are:
    Logging and Statistics
    MobileMe
    IPv6

Is your AirPort Extreme the only router in your network configuration?

  • Can't open port 80

I just can't open port 80 on my AEBS n 1st G. I want to use this port to enable access from the internet to my Mini server's wiki pages.
I've added port 80 in the "Port Mapping" tab of Airport utility under "personal web sharing", but when I check the port with the network utility, it remains closed.
What am I doing wrong. Please help.
This is the data of the mapping tab in Airport utility:
    Public TCP port: 80
    private IP address:10.0.1.201
    Private TCP port: 80
    rest empty.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was out of town.
I did the setup as you showed it, tested it and it still doesn't work.
I also contacted my ISP with some questions about the port 80 being open or not. Their answer is that port 80 is always open as that's the port used to access the internet (made me feel like my question was reeeaaaally stupid...). I explained I had found some info on the internet that said the Zyxel modems very often come with the port 80 closed, and that nearly made them laugh... :-(
So I once again did a scan of my public port and get this:
    Port Scanning host: 200.124.48.xxx
    Open TCP Port: 21     ftp
    Open TCP Port: 53     domain
    Open TCP Port: 554    rtsp
    Open TCP Port: 3900   udt_os
    Open TCP Port: 5009   winfs
    No port 80 in view.
I also did a traceroute of the Dyndn'ssed domain I want to access on my server and get this:

  • Port Forwarding on Home Hub 5 not working

    Hi,
Is anybody else having problems getting ports to forward on their Home Hub or Home Hub 5?
I am a new BT customer, less than a week infact and BT have been utterly hopeless in getting this resolved. All they do is send me instructions for port forwarding on a homehub which I do not need and tell me that i need to pay for their tech support to investigate it further which is freaking ridiculous considering port forwarding is an essential part of any router and this router is brand new, less than a week old. (Do BMW sell you a car and then refuse to take responsibility for a broken engine?)
My other option is buying an ADSL 802.11ac router for £150 which out of principle, i dont think i should have to do. One of the reasons i came to BT in the first place was because the homehub is supposed to be one of the best free provider supplied routers around.
Please only reply to this if you know what you are talking about or have experienced this same issue yourselves. I reiterate that I have not missed any configuration steps on my part and this is a case of the homehub simply not working as it is designed.
    Scenario:
I like to have remote desktop access to my home computer from external networks. I do not use 3rd party software such as 'log me in' or 'team viewer', I like to use Microsoft Remote desktop and had been doing so for years with my Sky broadband until last week.
I have dynamic DNS running on my machine which updates my constantly changing external IP to the dns server so dont worry about that, thats all good.
I have correctly set up the forwarding of TCP 3389 to the static I.P of my home desktop on the homehub (and rebooted and or factory reset several times)
    Result:
Nothing. The homehub displays as though it has forwarded the ports yet i am still unable to remote in from an external network. The port shows as closed when i run a port scanner.
The same goes for other ports I have tried to open. For example, my Xbox One.
BT are sending me out a replacement Hub to try but I fear that this will have the same result as i have seen a few other people post with the same issues.
If anybody has experienced and or resolved this, please let me know and i will be forever grateful
    Thank you

When you do a major network revision always reset the TC to factory and start over.. it simply remembers too much of the last setup.
Plug WAN TC into the HH5 and run through the airport utility again. The TC must go into bridge mode. It then should work fine, but I recommend particularly with Mavericks you use strict naming.
Not apple names.. long, loose and loopy.
Names that are short, 2-10 characters is plenty but make an upper limit of 20.
    No spaces..
Pure alphanumeric.. no apostrophe or any other odd character.

  • How can I open port 80

I am using a 2wire modem/router. I was told by a tech at ATT that I can only click a button that allows ALL ports open, but not just port 80.
Does anyone know if there is a way to open port 80 ONLY? I'm next to done setting up a security CCTV system for my home, and this would allow me to use my computer to look at whats going on, rather than buying a new monitor.
    Thanks for helping.

Thanks for the reply. You and X423424X are close. From the beginning. I bought a 4 camera DVR security surveillance system. Yesterday, we installed it. I was told by the place from which I bought it ( and subsequently from the manufacturer's tech guy)  that if I wanted to use my computer for a monitor for the security setup, that in the Router Firewall Settings I would have to identify the device, and then 'direct' the device "through" port 80 to be able to view the 'goings on outside' (the input from the cameras) from my computer monitor. Inclusive with this configuration via the iMac, is that the DVR is recording all the time, and I could download any portion of the recorded material from the DVR to the iMac and burn it to a disk, for example to give to the cops if there was a theft. AND, it was also mentioned that in order to remote view whats going on around the place from say, a laptop or pc when I'm out of town can also be done, but that would require opening another port, with 4 digits, like 3806, or similar. I will eventually get the port number for this operation later. So that is what I'm trying to do.
So far, the 'local tech' from the security store seems to have limited knowledge of the Mac, and of the 2Wire router/modem. So HE was on the phone with first the tech support from the security cam/DVR dealers, and then with an ATT tech. The ATT tech was the one that said, in the firewall settings on the modem, there is a button that opens ALL ports, and that was the only way to allow port 80 to be used for the DVR/security setup.
I think that he is incorrect. I think that there is a way to view the camera images on my Mac monitor, and that there is a way to configure the settings on the router to allow the camera images to  be seen on the computer screen, and that I could also download to the HD on the iMac any 3 or 4 minute portion of what is recorded on the DVR, in order to burn a copy. I have a co-worker that had a car taken, and her neighbor was there in an instant telling her thatt he had the whole thing on his video surveillance, and had a disc burnt in about 5 minutes, which went to the police. Her car was found, and the perp arrested within 2 hours.
THATS what I want to end up with (no, not a stolen car, but the configuration), and I'm hoping that I can find the way to get 'er done here. There is only one good Apple/OS X tech in this town, and he is on vacation for another week. AND, I'm not sure he is a 2wire expert.
So, again, thank you for any help or input.

  • Can I connect a printer to home hub to print wirel...

    Hi
My first post, hope someone can help. I've just signed up to BT for my broadband (I'm still with Orange until the change over goes through).
I can currently print from my wireless laptop (downstairs) to a printer (upstairs) that is plugged into the USB port on my Orange Livebox. Will I still be able to connect a printer to the new BT home hubs USB port & print wirelessly? (The printer doesn't have its own wireless capability & I doubt I'd be able to get hold of the required "optional parts" anymore as the printer is a few years old.)
    Regards
    Mick.

    HI Mick,
I believe the home hub has a USB port - if not it iwll be ethernet. Someone with it will comment I am sure as I have the v2.0 and it does have a USB port

  • Port Forwarding on Home Hub 4

    OK, first post here. Hello.
I've searched the forums and checked the FAQ's for an answer, no joy.
I simply need to open port 9000 on my HH4 to allow out of home access to my new Buffalo NAS.
The port fowarding FAQ - here - does not work:
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/43715
If you follow the instructions to setup a customer application you can enter the port you need, however once saved, your custome app does not then appear in the Application drop down list so it is impossible to associate it with a device (the NAS in my case)
Has anyone manged to get port forwarding on a custom app working for a HH4?
As an aside FTP does not seem to appear as an optional protocol to open - is this not supported?

  • How can I open safari with multiple home pages

    Hi All
On my iPhone 4 I always follow the same four websites (2x e-mail, 1x news and 1x sport page).  Is there a way that I can set Safari on the iPhone to open these four pages on startup.  i.e. open up with 4 home pages.
    Thanks in advance
    Sathers

It strikes me that it should be possible to do that (or something similar) by building a safari extension, TC. Both Sessions and SafariRestore are able to launch multiple tabs from a previous session, so it seems like you should be able to create an extension that launches multiple tabs open to specific sites when Safari is launched.

  • Can't connect my Ps3 to Home Hub

Hi, just got a home hub yesterday and all the computers in the house are working fine. But when I went to connect my PS3 it wasn't having any of it. I fllowed the instructions step-by-step and tried it multiple times yet still have nothing. The problem is when I do the connection test it succeeds in obtaining the ip address then succeeds on the internet connection but fails when it gets to the playstation network part of the test. I have searched and found nothing. Please help

Before i got my house wired up i had the same problems connecting PS to hub.
also kept getting a host of DLNA errors.
Try configuring your PS3 to use a staic IP address and input all the details manually.
I found this helped alot untill trying to stream movies.
If I've helped, just click the Star - Every little bit helps
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

  • Can't Open ports in Express

    Hi,
    Here's my setup:
Cable router connected by ethernet to Airport Extreme (not the new model)
Airport extreme broadcasts to an Airport Express which relays the signal to my computer.
I need to open up my ports for Transmission to use so I can get my upload ratio up. I always remain in stealth mode whenever I connect.
I've gone into my system prefs and allowed transmission to use ports in 10.5 (different setup in leopard now)
I've also opened up the ports needed for the Extreme, but when I get to the Express there doesn't seem to be any options for opening ports, so I remain in stealth mode with terrible upload speeds.
    All help is greatly appreciated.

The reason you don't see any options for opening ports on your Airport Express is because it isn't relevant to its current mode of operation. Your Airport Express has been configured as a remote base station - as you said, it relays signals from your base station to your computer. In that mode, the Airport Express's built in router is completely disabled - and since it is completely disabled, there is no need to be forwarding ports.
You mentioned you have a "cable router". If this "cable router" indeed has a built in router, then your efforts need to be directed to either turning off its router (to work in so-called "bridge mode") or setting up port forwarding on that device.

  • Can't Open Some App using home wifi network, must use 3g to do it

My iPhone is 5s. Just like the title said, whenever my iPhone / iPad connected to wifi I can't connect to some games like Puzzle and Dragon even though I can browse using safari, using fb / twitter / instagram just fine. I keep getting connection error (in game of course) whenever I open that game (not only that game actually). Whenever I open the game, I can get myself automatically logged into gamecenter, but the can't connect to the game itself.
I've tried changing the dns from the default 192.168.1.1 to google's and resetting the cache (airplane mode -> on -> off). But to no avail.
Have tried to open the game on my father's iPhone and iPad, and my sister iPhone too. I suspect my problem is my wifi configuration isn't compatible to ios(?).
Sometimes I experience updating app problem too on home wifi network, I can browse app store but can't update any app.
While my phone can't, my friend's android can play the game just fine using my home's wifi network.
    Please help me fix this.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, when you are going to turn off or restart your Mac, you will see a box called "Reopen windows when logging back in" in the shutdown or restart window. Untick this box and see if the App Store opens automatically in the next startup.
If it starts, open System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items, and see if the App Store shows up. If so, remove it from this list
