Can't Open Script Editor

Hi!
Yesterday While writing an Applescript, I copy pasted some lines (like 50 lines) of code to my script editor, it freezed so I close it, it no longer opens, every time I open it, it justs Freezes instantly.
I already tried Restarting and everything.
I'll probably reinstall it, but how?
Any ideas??
Script Editor 2.7
Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.2
I have an MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

No error messages on Console and I lost my Recovery CD.
Where I can find an original copy of the app?

  • Can not open script editor in HDS

    Hi everybody,
When we open Script Editor, we see the notice: "cannot connect to distributor, script editor will now exit"
Can you help me to resovle it?
    We use ICM 7.1
    Thanks you so much!

You might also see this message if the services are running, but you are using Windows Remote Desktop (RDP), and are not logged in with console mode.
    Try this:  mstsc aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd /admin
where aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is the IP address or hostname of your HDS.  The /admin switch gets you in with console mode.
Net-net, you should see the ICM process' console windows on the taskbar.  If you don't, then either the service isn't running, or you're not in /console mode.
fyi - ICM 7.1 is long-since end-of-life.  You should seriously consider upgrading to a more recent, supported release.

  • CUCM 4.1(3) installing Dev Pack 89 - "can't open script file"

    Hello All,
I'am trying to isntall the 4.1 dev pack 89 on CUCM 4.1(3) server.  It unpacks the contents then says "can't open script file".  I closed the CSA agent and I have no virus scanners running.  Has anyone had this issue before?  Thanks
    Jason Steig

    Paul,
I assume you are referring to 10.1.3 DP4. The previews are not reverse compatible with previous previews. Unfortunately this means that you will need to re-map any project created in 10.1.3 DP3 or earlier.
We believe we have finalized the file formats for the release and our intention is to have the DP4 projects be completely compatible with the final release.
    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    Doug

  • Can't launch Script Editor 2.2.1. It silently quits.

Script Editor 2.2.1, which comes along with the latest Security Update, will not launch. It's icon is generic too. I have re-downloaded and re-run the Security Update with no improvement.
    Console reports this much:
    Tuesday, October 21, 2008 7:37:56 PM US/Eastern
Oct 21 19:38:03 mini Script Editor[209]: Unable to load nib file: SEMainMenu, exiting
    Oct 21 19:38:03 mini com.apple.launchd[124] ([0x0-0x28028].com.apple.ScriptEditor2[209]): Exited with exit code: 1
I also discovered the new Script Editor (showing package contents) doesn't have any of the numerous "SE" files in its Resources folder like version 2.2 does.

For anyone who still needs an answer to this topic (like I did)...
I have uploaded the required resource files that are needed to run this corrupted Script Editor here:
    http://www.esnips.com/doc/37fb3e73-67f4-4ae6-9cd0-f7d9da5e3a5e/Script-Editor-Res ource-Files
Just put this folder in the Script Editor Contents folder.
Let me know of any problems if anyone tries this please.

clicking PSE icon loads the organizer only.   I can't open the editor

Did you perhaps mess with the contents of the library in the Finder?
You may try the solution suggested in this thread:

  • Can't Open Script!!!

What's the deal with not being able to access my script? It shows in Projects but will not open in Authoring. 50 minutes on hold and had to hang up. So frustrating. Very sceptical about this application when you can't access intellectual property.

    Hi,
Please try clearing the cache( or switching to a different browser). We pushed an update yesterday and it could be that the browser is still loading old data.
    Thanks,

I registered the new serial numbers and opened the organizer, but when I try to go to the editor, it asks me to log in and accept the license agreement which I have done multiple times.  In a vicious circle.

If you want to double click html files and have them open with your web editior you will need to set that up that app as the default application for html files. However if you do this any internet bookmarks you may have on your desktop will no longer open with your browser.
So it is far easier just to control click on html files then from the contextual menu choose 'open with ' and select your webeditor.

  • Address Book opens when a script is opened, while script editor was closed

    Hi,
    Something puzzles me :
I have a very simple script with only these two lines :
    tell application "Address Book"
    end tell
This script is saved as a simple script.
When I open the script with script editor,
    * if script editor was already open, the script opens normally and I can edit it
    * if script editor was not already open, then Address Book opens itself (and the script opens itself with script editor)
What explains the opening of Address Book ?
What can I do to avoid this auto-opening of Address Book ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Nicolas

You were right, the script will not compile. (there are some instruction between the "tell" and the "end tell" lines)
There are a couple of solutions to that one.
The first is that the script will compile if you're only using standard commands like 'activate', 'quit', etc. inside the tell block - these commands are universal, supported by all applications, and therefore you don't need the application dictionary.
If you are using application-specific commands, though, then you can provide the Script Editor a hint as to which dictionary to use via the using terms from command.
This tells the compiler which application dictionary to use when compiling the script, but it shouldn't affect opening the script. If you're only targeting one application and don't mind this workaround, it could be your solution:
    -- here's our target application
    set appName to "Address Book"
     -- let's target it
    tell application appName
-- now provide the compiler a hint as to which application dictionary to use
using terms from application "Address Book"
        -- commands go here
      end using terms from
    end tell
When it comes to compile the script, AppleScript will use the application in the using terms from statement instead of the (unknown) application in the tell statement.

  • Can't open Sculpture's editor interface in MainStage

I can't open the Editor view of the Sculpture plugin in Mainstage. The plugin functions perfectly in Logic, but not in Mainstage.
When I try to open the plugin the computer slows down for approx 2 mins before opening the Controls view. Everything works in this view and all my presets from Logic are available, but I would like to be able to experiment in the Editor view if at all possible. If I try to select Editor from the view menu the computer again slows down, and then eventually just reopens the Controls window.
    Anyone else have this issue?

Maybe try deleting the app and reinstalling... Perhaps some of the graphics went missing. It works for me.

  • I can't open an old Domain file

About two years ago I made a website for my dad. www.larrylewisphotography.com. Well I have finally set up an etsy store to sell his photographs and I need to get back in and link the "order online" tab with the new domain for his etsy store. I have since purchased a new computer and have even upgraded HDD's over the past two years. I have saved the original Domain file which holds all the info for the website. When I tried to open it today with iWeb all it does is opens up a new templte for me!
I really don't want to have to redo everything on the webiste! When I checked in the package contents of the domain file everything is still there. iWeb just won't open it.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Once you get the library visible remove the new domain file from the iWeb folder and put your original file there.  Then open your domain file in Lion with the following script that Cyclosaurus has provided us with.  You can compile it into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
