Can't open Skype in Surface Pro Tablet

Skype works great on my desktop PC. But I have a problem with my Surface Pro Tablet. There is a Skype App and I can log on to my account.
The Problem:
There is a lot of stuff in the App that I don’t care about, but I don’t see where I can open the Skype page where my contacts are and make calls.

As best as I can remember I quit trying to use the App, but went directly to Skype* and logged on to my account and then was able to see my regular Skype page. Hope that helps.
*Google: Type in "Skype my account" and log on.

    hi there,
how should I sychronize my allready exsisting adobe photoshop cs3 adobe dreamweaver cs3 from my  home computer on my windows surface pro tablet 8.1@@

Was this from disc or download?
If from disc, you'll need to connect an external disc drive via USB to the Surface.

  • Problem push and hold on a Surface Pro tablet's touch screen

    Hi,
I tried posting this before, but I can't find my origional post so I hope I'm not spamming accidentally.
I have a problem with my program on a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro tablet. I programmed a button to be 'push-and-hold', but when I touch the tablet nothing happens until I release my finger. This briefly controls the button. When I connect a USB mouse to the tablet, it responds normally; when I press the left mouse button: the button in my program goes down until I release the mouse button. I tried about every setting in the Touch section of the Windows control panel without any succes.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • 'You can't open the application "Logic Pro X" because someone else is using it.'

    Hello.
I have two user accounts on my MacBook and if I attempt to open Logic Pro X in ‘user 2’ while it is already open in ‘user 1’, I get ‘You can’t open the application “Logic Pro X” because someone else is using it.’
Now I know I can simply quit Logic in ‘user 2’ but this shouldn’t be happening should it? Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

Really? I wouldn't have expected that. Well, I may be wrong then and basing my assertion on a much older Mac OS (10.5?), since I haven't used multiple open user accounts for years.
However, seeing the wording of the message it is quite obvious that this is by design.
I think it is better to have as few programs as possible open anyway, just so Logic can use all available CPU and RAM resources optimally. Maybe if you have 16 GB or more that is not so important anymore.

The only viable solution is to upgrade to the latest versions of the PPC legacy software that will run under Mavericks.
Except for the other viable solution:
If you are unable or unwilling to upgrade to a version of Filemaker that runs natively under Mavercks, you can run your existing version of Filemaker by installing Snow Leopard Server into Parallels:

  • Can't open Skype at all on Macbook Pro

I have been struggling with Skype for a long time on my Macbook Pro and wondered if anyone has any advice. When I try to open the application, it crashes immediately before I can even log in. This has been the behaviour for several versions of Skype now, so I am starting to think there is something on my machine which conflicts with it and the problem will not be solved by waiting for a future release of Skype.
Currently it is failing with version 6.0.60.2496 of Skype (downloaded today) on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.8.2. The machine is a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM, purchased in 2009. Exactly the same problem occurred in Lion, before I upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I have tried a number of steps to solve the problem, including:
    * Removing the /skype folder from /Library/Application Support and the preference file from Preferences, uninstalling Skype, restarting in Safe Mode, downloading it again, installing and trying to open it
    * Changing the settings in Text to Speech to a different voice
    * Downloading an older version of Skype and trying to run that
Everything crashes instantly every time and I am unable to use Skype at all.
Skype support have told me there's nothing further they can suggest and they think it may be a conflict with my System fonts, but I am desperate for any advice from someone who has encountered (and hopefully solved!) a similar problem.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Hi Katherine,
You'll need to save it to a different format to use it on a Mac. If you can still open them on the HP, that would probably be the easiest. Save them as a Mac compatible format such as .mpg. If that doesn't work, here is a converter you can try: http://www.squared5.com/

  • Can't PXE boot a Surface Pro 3 after already successfully imaging it

hey guys. To try to eliminate a lot of the initial question that come up with this issue, I figure I will start with established info.  Our SCCM environment is healthy, and all images, drivers and apps are distributed to all of our DP's. We can image
PC's and laptops with no issue at all. We use network PXE booting.  Using a 64 bit boot image. Needed drivers are injected into the boot image. Firmware on the Surface was updated.  Using the Surface NIC dongle. THis dongle was only used to image
this Surface Pro 3 tablet one time. There is no record of the MAC of the dongle in SCCM since I deleted the Surface out, to make it an unknown again.
So, with a lot of trial and error, I was finally able to get this tab to PXE boot, and then successfully image. Was testing out the new windows 8.1 image I had built.
Since it ewas successful I wanted to add all of our apps to the TS and test them out in imaging. Well, I can no longer get this thing to PXE boot. It shows trying to Start PXE over IPv4, then just skips to IPv6, then boots up into windows.
I have delted the secure keys form ther BIOS, then reloaded them.  I have tried hte full shut down method (Holding Volume Up and Power for 15 seconds, then waiting for 10 seconds or longer, then trying to PXE boot. I am getting a valid connection fro
    mthe dongle.
Nothinhg I try works. Its tries to PXE boot over IPv4, but never gets there.  But I can PXE boot any of our PC's or Laptops,m so its just an issue with this damn Surface Pro 3.
    ANy advice?

So I finally got our server guy to enable the logging and get that smspxe.log file to be accessible. So here is the info from the log, when I attempt to PXE boot the Surface. I see the last 2 lines where it ignores the request, I just don't know why its
    ignoring it.

can't open final cut pro since I updated to Yosemite. Don't want to have to pay another $300 to get what I had

Russ, Adam, thank you very much!
First, I deleted the flexiolibrary, then the library opened in FCPX, but there were missing projects. Then I launched the latest backup and all worked well.
    Thank you veeery much again!

  • Can you open a Final Cut Pro project file (6.0.6) in Final Cut Express (v4)

I am working on a project in Final Cut Pro (v 6.0.6) and I need to pass it off to a colleague who only has Final Cut Express (v 4). The media in the project is DVNTSC.
I went to the Apple store at the Stonestown Mall in San Francisco today and they assured me that my colleague would be able to open my FCP project file in his FCE program... but I'm skeptical.
Can you really open a FCP project file in FCE?
Could somebody who has both confirm this for me?
    Thanks,
    Sam

Under very rare circumstances can you open an FCP project in FCE. It almost never works and is not supported by Apple.

  • Just uploaded apps from iPhone to Mac Pro but i can't open apps on mac pro?

Just uploaded apps from iphone to Mac pro but i can't open the apps - Why?

    Hi richard915,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
Do you mean that you transferred your purchases from the iPhone to your Mac pro?  You can also set your Mac's iTunes preferences to automatically download purchases made to it.  You'd have to check the specifics for the app that you are having an issue with, but some apps that are designed for the iPhone won't work on your Mac. Developers usually create two versions of their software.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
iTunes 11 for Mac: Automatically download new iTunes Store purchases to multiple computers and devices

I hope this information helps ....

  • I can't open a final cut pro x bundle.

    Hello everyone!
My problem is: I cannot open my final cut pro x library. When I try to open it it says:
Fatal error.  The database at /Volumes/Старый/STOCK_source/STOCK.fcpbundle/CurrentVersion.flexolibrary is corrupted.  SQLite error code:11, 'database disk image is malformed'
    abort() called
It happens to only one library. All the rest work fine.
    I've got FCPX 10.1.2.
    OS X 10.9.4
It doesn't open the projects, when I try to open them separately (choose "show contents")
Help me please... I really need that very bundle to work....

Russ, Adam, thank you very much!

  • Can anyone explain why my surface pro 3 will not accurately use the brush tool in adobe illustrator?

My surface Pro 3 is amazing with photoshop but it cuts in and out using the brush tool in illustrator.  Does anyone know of a fix?

    Hi Dinar Fresco,
We have seen some issue with n-trig win tab drivers on surface pro 3. Here is a forum post with some solution https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1649008?q=surface%20pro

  • Where can I find the pop3 emails that have been downloaded onto my surface pro tablet?

I have thunderbird setup to include 5 different business email accounts. They are all setup as pop3 accounts. My dropbox will not syn anymore because I don't have any disk space on my computer. I have been told its because my emails have been downloaded onto my computer. I cannot find them anywhere and have tried cleaning up my c drive. Can you please tell me where to look for them on my c drive? I have already deleted thousands of emails from thunderbird itself but it hasn't made a difference in how much disk space I have. Thank you.

Did you compact folders after deleting. If not that is why no space freed up. Delete marks for deletion and hides the messages. Compacting removes them and frees up space.

  • How can i use skype account in a tablet 8.1?

I've just brought a tablet with windows 8.1 with bing and i can't find the option to log out with my microsoft account to use another one in Skype. I don't use skype with my microsoft account and i don't want to merge those two accounts, in the future i could be using it.
So, how can i use two different accounts? (one for the tablet and another one for skype)
Also i have to say i have already linked a microsoft account to that skype account, & it seems impposible to link more than one microsoft account to the skype account.

SATA II is generally just fine, no fuss no muss, for the system. Using PCIe to boot adds problems and most if not all such PCIe SSD cards do NOT WORK in 32-bit Mac Pro 1,1 and 2,1 (and the 3,1 is also sometimes difficult with some cards).
Data uses though are useful, work, and benefit. Lightroom, Aperture, scratch, even iPhoto - all those graphic libraries.
I would rewrite and make it "will the native SATA II drive bays" work, and the answer to that is YES. But not faster.
You have a 4x and 8x slot, so one of those is fine.
It is the reads and zero latency seeks along with queue depth and high 90K IOs per sec that help an SSD shine.
Putting a 250GB or 500GB EVO 840 is the easiest and best return on system improvement you can make for $120-240 (plus $14 for Icy Dock adapter).
Even the 2008 has two 4x PCIe 1.1 slots. The 2009 has PCIe 4x 2.1 slots that share bandwidth and cap out (only learned from stripping SSDs using two PCIe cards and 2-4 SSDs), so they aren't perfect either! ONLY the 5,1 really has the best PCIe design and setup.
Sonnet only supports or recommends their Tempo Pro which is what I bought, so I don't know off hand how well yours works and if it even will. Some cards do require EFI 64-bit, AND 10.8.x or later, and maybe even PCIe 2.0 - but only to work, ie they don't work or not supported in PCIe 1.0... but NOT about the bandwidth.
Booting in 10 seconds is nice. Launching a full dozen apps in 10 seconds (and ready to use) also. Only larger program suites takes 20 seconds now.
250MB/sec is nothing to sneeze at when it comes to boot drive SSD.
