Can't open SVG (CS3) in CS2.

Hi,
I can't open an SVG file in Illustrator CS2. The SVG file was made in CS3 (checkbox ticed for compability with CS2). I'm running XP. This is the steps I've done.
1. Graphic created in Illustrator CS2, and saved as EPS-file.
2. EPS-file opened in Illustrator CS3 and saved as SVG-file.
3. Graphic (SVG) uploaded into Astoria Content Management System (CMS).
4. Later, graphic (SVG) is exported from Astoria CMS for updating.
5. SVG-file cannot be re-opened for editing in CS2

When the file was saved to SVG from CS3, Preserved Illustrator Editing Capabilities was selected. Either save your files using CS2, or deselect that option when saving from CS3.

Can't open site in GoLive CS2, error (-5000) help!

I've created 7 different sites with GoLive CS2 over the years and they are all files on my Mac laptop. I went to open one that I haven't had to change in a while and I can't, I just get a window with this, "Could not open Document, OS Error (-5000)" So is this a GoLive error or something with my Mac OSX system? I can't open any completed GoLive CS2 sites with Dreamweaver, only page by page and then I can't upload the changes since my site FTP info is in the GoLive version websites. Of the 7 sites, I can only open 3.

FTP user account info is portable. Find out what the user name and password is for the accounts and enter them in Dreamweaver.
You do not mention what version of OS X you are using but it is highly likely that a user of a newer Mac is going to have troubles with GoLive. It was written for older Macs.

CS5 doesn't support that camera. You need CS6 or later or the free DNG converter.

How can you save a file with CS4 so that it can be opened with CS3?

I fave a file that I have sent someone, but they can't open it because they don't have CS4. How can I save a file, using CS4, so that the file can be opened with CS3?

Can't open svg files

Hi all! I have a 2008 iMac I've been using for a long time. I just bought a new 2013 iMac. I'm using Illustrator CS6 (via the cloud). I work for a company that has me download svg files. I normally open those using Illustrator (I am using the same version of Illustrator on both computers). When I used to open the svg files, I would get a message that says, "The document uses fonts or characters which are not available or are in a different format than originally specified." Below that it says, "Sans-serf: An unknown problem occured." But then I'd click "OK" and it would open just fine.
On my new iMac, when I double click on the same svg file, I get the message, "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT].
So... what can I do? It doesn't give me any options at all!

am running adobe illustrator 17.1.
can create an svg by saving from illustrator as svg 1.1. specifically unselecting "preserve illustrator editing capabilities" and saving the svg. cannot reopen the svg from illustrator. illustrator just crashes.

Can't open Illustrator CS3, was fine before

All CS3 apps working fine for the last few years, except that all of a sudden I can't open Illustrator. Gives me FOConversion Suite plugin missing and quits. When I go to the folder, I've noticed this file is 0 bytes. How did this happen? More importantly, how to fix it? I read and read and can't find solution. I renamed so far preferences folder (Illustrator created new one on next (also failed) startup; I made sure that fonts Segua UI and tahoma are installed and working, and I have working, updated anti-virus. What can I do to fix/replace foconversionsuite.aip file? Operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

I found backup of my files and copied over empty file. It works fine now.

Yes, a CS3 file can be opened, edited, and saved as a CS3 file using CS4. But not the other way around.

Still can't open in CS3 from LR 2.1

I have updated to LR 2.1, re-installed Photoshop CS3, and done some other fiddles that were suggested in various places. But I STILL can't reliably send my files to PS the way you are supposed to.
Sometimes when I right-click "Edit in PHotoshop CS3" it works ok.
Most times it won't. When it won't, I look in Photoshops/Help/SystemInfo and see that Scripting support is ver 10.1 instead of desired 10.0.1. When it IS working, the Scripting Support is as it should be, 10.0.1. So I guess there is some remanent file or pointer to old version of Scripting support and probably other out-of date components, but how to fix it?
Since LR cataloging is completely affected by how you get your image into PS, this is more than just annoying. I understood Ver 2.1 would correct this (it says so in the readme) but no.
I have searched archives again, and looked through a few pages of topics, but not found anything recent on this. Doesn't mean it's not there, just that it's impossible to search effectively for most topics.
Can anyone tell me if there is any way to get this to work properly, and/or if Adobe are doing anything to correct it? I will not be buying CS4 just to fix this problem, since I have a policy now of not buying any new Adobe software until it works. That is becoming an increasingly long time. I just want my current software to work.

Does ACR open when you start the process in PS and use File / Open and select the RAW file? File / Open is how Windows would do it, not sure on a Mac, but whatever you'd do in PS on a Mac to open a RAW file, without LR being involved.
In other words, is the issue with PS opening in ACR or PS being called from LR?
Also, if PS is already open w/o any file being edited--not as a result of a bad open from LR, but PS manually started up, does it work right from LR? In other words if the invocation from LR doesn't actually involve starting up PS, but just communicating with the currently open PS does it work better?
You might just try uninstalling and reinstalling LR, again. Or even re-installing PS, although LR is easier to re-install so try that, first.

Can't open raw images in CS2 after install, can't see thumbnails in Bridge

We just purchased an Acer laptop computer, picked it up yesterday. Hubby is going to use this strictly for working on his pictures when out of town. He didn't even plan to hook it up to the internet. It has Windows Vista Home Premium, 2G of RAM, 120G of hard drive and a CD/DVD player/recorder. I installed Photoshop CS2, Nik Sharpener, Neatimage noise remover and Huey Pro Calibrater onto the computer last night.
When I opened Photoshop & Bridge, opened a DVD of some RAW images, Bridge would not show the thumbnails and I couldn't open any in Photoshop. In Bridge all that showed was a light blue box with CR2 over it and the file name below for each image. When I tried to open one I got a "Can not complete process due to a program error" message. I did open a jpeg image into Photoshop from the ones included in my documents and had no trouble with that. I didn't acutally try to do anything with it so I'm not sure that any of the options in Photoshop actually work, although they were all active with the jpeg image.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to correct these two problems?

I actually went into Photoshop and ran the update. This gave me the current Camera Raw file 3.7 and an update for Bridge. I downloaded it and it is installed in Photoshop. This gave me thumbnails for the images taken on our Canon Rebel XTI, but not the Canon 30D. I went to the Camera Raw Update page on adobe.com. Found the 30D back in update 3.4. Shouldn't the latest update have all the previous updates included. As I understand the instructions, you are just supposed to replace the older version of Camera Raw with the newer. Will I have to install each update in order to get the support for my camera?
This leads me to another question, I downloaded the 3.4 and was following the instructions for installing it. It says to go to My Computer, open C, or disk with files installed, then navigate to Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS-2\File Formats. My computer wasn't exactly like this, but I did get to the plug-in for Photoshop CS-2. After getting there, move existing Camera Raw.8bi to another location. Copy the Camera Raw Plug-in from the download into the same folder. See why is seems that the current version should have all previous updates?
Anyway, got to the Plug-in file and there is no Camera Raw file in it. I went through all the files in Adobe Program Files that looked like it might have it in it; bridge, ImageReady, and shared files. No Camera Raw to be found. I did open Photoshop up and double checked that it was showing up in the Plug-in list. Yep, it was there. Why can't I find it in the Program Files?
Sorry this is so long, I wanted to check everything I could before replying. Sure hope I can get this straightened out. Linda

CC 2014 can I save a .indd so it can be opened in CS3?

I have a client that needs ties saved in CS3 I have CC 2014 can I do this by saving as .idml? I see I can only go back to CS5?

You'd need to open that IDML in CS4 and export it back to CS3 INX.
The chances of that being useable are slim to none. I would not even take
that job.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried it yet... because I am still in the push to get my company to purchase CS5 for the mac. In the meantime, I'm trying to find out if I can work from my home computer and then transfer the project to the mac. I have CS5 at home, and someone in the office has CS3. Thanks for the cross-platform workflow page. Definitely seems like its doable, just a few workarounds necessary. Hopefully I could finish the whole project at home (or I show up at work soon and its purchased).

Can I open Windows CS3 files in MacIntosh CS6?

I have Windows Adobe CS3.
I also have Windows XP and must upgrade to Windows 8.1. Someone said I must upgrade my Creative Suite because Windows 8.1 uses different drivers. I also must buy a new computer, printer and scanner. Is this true?
If I buy a MacIntosh computer and Creative Suite instead, can I still open my Windows CS3 files?

The latest CS6 and CC will both open previous versions of CS 3 files. Platform of origin is irrelevant.

Can't open old files in CS2 in proper format

Hi,
I can open my files but not in color, and my base maps imported via cut and paste do not show up; and I cannot move most objects or alter text boxes. The top of the screen shows RGB/outline.
