Can't open template I ordered, in DW CS3

My daughter wants a website created for a fundraiser for her school. We found the perfect template here: http://http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/1954 I downloaded it, unzipped it, and there are only three folders. They are images, index.html (which opens text only in Firefox), and style (a CSS style sheet). When I try to open the index in DW, only the text shows. How do I open it in DW so that the full template shows and is editable?

Actually you can open a CS3 file with smart filters in CS2
the only problem is CS2 will not understand the Smart filter and flatten it.
If you leave the smart filtered object alone in CS2 save the file and it should still be a smart filtered object in CS3

When You create a new Appset from AppShell Appset, all of new Appset data will be same with Appshell configuration. I think that if your configuration different from Appshell, you could delete BPC template because its can not run smoothly and never appear troubles in your appset.
For your case: Please you check up your user security through BPC Administration Console, maybe you could not have a right privileges.

Can't Open .NEF Files In Camera Raw CS3 - Windows 7

I have a Nikon D60, Windows 7 Professional (32bit) and Web Premium CS3.
I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7.
I cannot get my Nikon's .NEF (Camera Raw) files to open when I select "Open in Camera Raw". I can see the .NEF thumbnails, but neither Photoshop or Bridge will open the files in Raw, you know where you can adjust all those killer settings non destructively.
I had cs3 installed on an XP machine and my .NEF files worked perfectly in Raw. Not so in Windows 7. I have tried to update to Camera Raw 5.6 but that wouldn't install. Is there an earlier version of CR that I can get and use, or any other advice would help.

The last version of Camera Raw to work in Photoshop CS3 is version 4.6. If you HAD been able to open your D60 NEF files and now can not, then something changed...did you do a fresh install of CS3 under Win 7? If so you installed version 4.0 (what shipped with CS3). You'll need to go to the Camera Raw Updates for Windows and download an install version 4.6.

Can't open folders in Favorites Panel-Bridge CS3

I just added a couple of folders to my "favorites" panel, so I can find them more easily. I have only two folders in the favorites panel. But when I click on them, nothing happens. They don't open. At the bottom of the screen, the loading icon rotates (next to number of items, and number hidden) but then goes away and nothing happens.
I can open these folders from the Content Panel.

Not sure if I understand you correctly but pointing to a folder in the
favorites should show the content of that folder in the content panel, is
that what you can see or do you expect something different to happen?
If you point to a folder in the favorites panel and use right mouse click
you have two options, remove from favorites and reveal in Finder.
Try reveal in Finder and see to what folder you end up and check if it has
content.
And when you say 'can open in the content panel' from what point did you
start, the folder panel or the favorites panel?
I can open these folders from the Content Panel.

Can't open Olympus .orf pics in Photoshop CS3

I can't seem to open Olympus camera raw pics (.orf) in Photoshop CS3. They will open in Bridge, launching CameraRaw 4.1, and I can adjust the pics but nothing happens when I click the 'Open Object' button. If I save as .dng Photoshop will open it. I didn't used to have to save in .dng. I did just have to Archive & Install but I have reinstalled and updated everything including Adobe.
I have a G5 twin 2.0 OSX 10.4.10 - Photoshop CS3 10.0 - Bridge 2.1.0.100. Olympus SP-550UZ

Adobe products shuld be more future proof than this. It's insidious. Like InDesign not opening files from future versions. Adobe loves it's customers (money)
Lots of older applications from different vendors are not able to open files from formats used in later versions, mostly they can do the other way round.
Besides the fact that this is a user to user forum and your complaints won't be heard by Adobe you can't blame Adobe for the habit of camera vendors to use a different Raw version for each new dSLR they produce. It is a very old discussion and there are tons of post about in almost each forum about Raw and dSLR.
The current free DNG converter can handle your files without problems. Be sure to download the latest converter from the Adobe side and read the instructions carefully.
Keep in mind that the upgrade strategy for Adobe seems to be changed after CS6 has launched. Before you could upgrade from maximum 3 versions back, it seems after CS6 has launched there will be a short period to upgrade from older version but after that you can only upgrade from one version back. Check yourself for the correct details.
And like you and me, we all have to earn our living, selling your work once and afterwards keep working for free for that one time customer is not the best strategy to stay alive as business...

Networked files show padlock (can't open) in Bridge, but not PS CS3

When looking at files on a network in Bridge CS3, they all show a padlock in the upper right corner of the icon representing the file and cannot be accessed via Bridge, but they are not locked. The same files can be seen, and opened (no padlock) in Photoshop CS3. Any suggestions?

Error - Can't open more than one image in CS3

My Photoshop CS3 was working fine until all of a sudden it no longer lets me open more than one image at a time without crashing. Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it?

There may be two issues you have to check:
1) The " scratch disk" feature in photoshop(usually gets full). Go to preferences - performance. Also check how much RAM PS is using.
2) Printer Communication: sometimes Photoshop is unable to communicate with the default printer(may be unstable drivers, out of date etc). Network computers also make some issues

Can't open RAW Nikon files (NEF) using PS3 10.0 running 10.6.8 , think there is a conflict with camera Raw plug-in. Can't open raw images in bridge or photoshop.

I think I may have a Camera Raw plug-in conflict or plug in may be in the wrong place. In both PS3 and Bridge Nikon raw files (NEF) will not open. I've noticed that in photoshop in the pull down menu-about plug-in, I have 2 Camera Raw (s) listed, getting info one is 4.0, the other 4.6.0.30. It appears that my files and .xmp are 4.0 just by searching for 'Camera Raw' either 4. or 4.6 in spotlight. nothing is listed in spotlight under camera raw 4.6, but all my images are listed in the spotlight if I search for camera raw 4.0! I can not open either in Bridge or Photoshop CS3 I just receive the error message 'could not complete this request because photoshop does not reconize this type of file'. any help would this is greatfully appreciated. Well if you have a fairly new Nikon camera PS CS3 will not have the proper version of ACR to support that camera.
You could use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the NEF files to DNGs or you can update PS to a newer version that does have support for newer cameras or you could buy Adobe Lightroom V4 which also has support for the newer Nikon cameras.

Help! Can't open files in all programs since installing version cue upgrade

Please help. A few days ago I got some pop up (I'm in windows XP) saying updates were available for 2 adobe things. I just chose yes and kept working. Now, I can't open files in any of my CS3 programs. I have lost 4 days of productivity and fear losing my mind next!! after doing some research, it appears alot of people are having trouble since uploading some version cue upgrade for cs3. I followed their suggestions and unchecked VC in photoshop (my first offender) and suddenly I could open files again. But now I can't in Illustrator, but in preferences, it does not have VC checked.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole package. I've tried just uninstalling VC. Nothing's working and I'm having major deadline problems now.

You can try a system restore to a point before the update. If you're lucky, it might work, but I often find System Restore will fail when you need it the most.

Yes, a CS3 file can be opened, edited, and saved as a CS3 file using CS4. But not the other way around.

How to open animated .GIF files in Photoshop CS3 and newer

A: File -> import-> video to layers.
In the dialogue box type "*.*" to show all file types.
Select your GIF file and which frames to import.
They will now be available in your animation palette.

curt y, sorry for the late reply, I tried that but I doesn't work. I have to choose at least two files in the Load Layers window in order for the OK button to be available and then some action script uses the different files to make layers and merges them but not from the frames of the gif file. I can undo through the script to see what it did but it never accessed the frames of the gif file, just the first frame. Choosing "make frames from layers" in the animation palette only puts the original files into layers - that is only the first frame of the gif file.
I guess I'm out of luck with the 64 bit version of Photoshop as Zeno suggested :-(
What program would you people suggest for opening each frame from gif files?
