Can't open tools photoshop

I have photoshop cs5 with bridge 4.05.11.  All updates were run today.  In bridge if I click on tools there is no photoshop button.  I want to open multiple files as layers as is possible if I were to have the photoshop button.  I run mac os X 10.7.2.
Can anyone help please?

I run mac os X 10.7.2.
Check the preferences in Bridge under Start Up scripts and see if the Photoshop start up script is in the list and has a checkmark in front of it. If it is there and not selected activate the checkmark, restart Bridge and try again.
If it is not present restart bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences. After Bridge has started check if the start up script is present again, if so set prefs again to custom wishes if needed.
Also be aware that check and repair permissions of the OSX is also a good thing, especially before and after an update or new install.

  • Can't open tools

I can't open tools in PTS. I have just downloaded PTS CC 2 days ago. I can choose only the tools that have icons on the toolbox. When I click these icons, there is no other following tools showing up. I'm using OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. I have uninstalled and downloaded CC several times. Then I downgraded to CS6 and it's still the same. Please kindly help me.

when I click the small arrow at each tool icon, other tools of the same kind will show up. But in my PTS, there is no tools show up when I click. I can only use the tools that have the icon on toolbox. When I press Keyboard Shortcut, it is the same.

  • What type of files can I open in Photoshop Touch?

Can I open a PSD file that I created in Photoshop (on my desktop computer) in PS Touch (on my tablet)?

Photoshop Touch can open files in the following formats:
    PSD (only from Creative Cloud)
    PSDX
    PNG
    JPG
    GIF
And, with a free plug-in for Photoshop CS5, you can open the PSDX files created by Photoshop Touch in Photoshop.

  • Can i 'open using photoshop' without creating another image in LR

I'm working with RAW files imported into LR 3.2
I swear that in an earlier version of LR - when I did 'open with photoshop' a corresponding Tiff file was not created in LR unless the image was saved in Photoshop.
I'm sure it used to work along these lines...
Open with PS, start to edit in photoshop - then decide not to continue - exit photoshop without saving. Tiff not created in LR.
Open with PS, start to edit in photoshop - Ctrl+S in Potoshop (or save on exit, etc). Tiff was created in LR.
anyway- that's the methodology I want.... can I have it?
[I know that I can 'export' as a Tiff, but thats not the option I want. I only want files opened with PS, from LR, to save in LR if saved in PS]
    SS

    I never use bridge..but,
If i browse to a folder with a raw file (I use DNG) and right click, open with CS5 - adobe CR6.3 and CS5 fire up.
In LR i import from camera, as DNG files.
If I use the edit with CS5 command, PSCS5 fires up but the image never shows in CS5, a corresponding Tiff is not created in LR. [This is an unresolved issue from some time ago, I've deleted preferences files etc..but cannot get transfer from LR to CS5 using 'edit with CS5']
To overcome this i have CS5 set up as second external editor - having pointed it to where CS5 is installed]
So. I have the DNG files in LR3.3.
Right Click - Edit in photoshope.exe (manually pointed as discussed above)
Dialog box 'what to edit' opens - choice of open a copy with LR adjustements is the only choice. Can selecte file size etc.
irrespective of whether 'stack with original' is selected - a Tiff file is genrated in LR, and CS5 fires up with the Tiff file open.
Saving in CS5 results in the file in LR being updated to match.
As earlier - I only want a Tiff created in LR, if I decide to save the Tiff from CS5.
    thanks for help so far.

  • Can't open TOOL GALLERIES Illustrator CC on second monitor

    Hello,
I have a laptop and a second display (via HDMI). In Illustrator CC, trial version, I can't open the flyout menus(known also as the 'tool galleries').
I know how they work, but nothing seems to do the trick (click and hold, right click, click on the corner). When I drag Illustrator back on the laptop display, the functionality reappears, the flyout menus work, but I need to use the second monitor.
Is this a bug? How can I fix it?

    Mac OS?
Are you using the application frame?
At the moment there's a mysterious issue with the panels.

  • Can't Open with Photoshop on PSD file

If I right click on a PSD file and say open with Photoshop CS, it opens Photoshop but doesn't open the image. This also happens when I grag a graphic image to the Photoshop CS icon on the dock. If I right click and say Open with ImageReady, it works. Anyone else have this problem? Should I reinstall Photoshop? I can open Photoshop and then do a File->Open to open the image.
    Thanks,
    Alfredo

    Hi, Alfredo.

  • Can't open file Photoshop cc

    HI,
after I have opened a file or two, when I attempt to open a third I get a "cannot complete request due to a program error" And can't open anything else until I quit the program and open it again.  I've tried re-installing the software, but to no avail.  I have a Mac Pro with Yosemite OS.  Can't say for certain, but this started happening after upgrading to Yosemite Or mighty close to it.  anyone else having these issues?
    thank you!

Ok, basically this is a user volunteer forum and I would not have the access to your screen that support would.
So if standard answers do not work for an unknown reason, I don't want venture any guesses.
Here's Plan A and B. If you feel did what you were supposed to, B might be the better option and you are covered.
Plan A:  As a last resort, I would be sure Yosemite is updated to 10.10.1
    Uninstall, checking "Remove Preferences".
Run the CC Cleaner   Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
To be sure, run a permissions repair from Disk Utility.
    Reinstall, updates, etc.
Plan B: If this fails, open a chat session with support. They would be able to at least take over your screen. CC is a current product and eligible for Adobe support.  CC has been tested to run on Yosemite.

  • I can't open my Photoshop CS4 anymore- why?

I have been unable to open my Photoshop for some time now and I get this error message when I try:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
This product has encountered a problem which requires that you restart your compute before it can be launched.
I you continue to see this message after restarting your computer, please contact either your IT administrator or Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shah own at the bottom of this screen.
    Error: 150:30
    http://www.adobe.com/support/

The 150:30 error is a common problem which, most often, occurs when you recover Photoshop CS4 from a backup or transfer to another computer. The simplest way to clear it up is to re-install CS4. Here is a link to the installers: Download CS4 products
You can use your discs or the downloads from the provided link. Either way, have your serial number ready...
If this fails, I am going to direct you to this thread: 150:30 Start at post #11.

  • Can not open CS5 photoshop file...

Hi all. I've been working on some artwork in photoshop CS5 and saving periodcally but after closing the file I can not open it back up. I keep getting the message "could not complete your request becasue it is not the right kind of document." I haven't a clue what can be causing this. Im using windows 7 if that matters or not and I started it on the same computer that I am now having trouble with. I'm not openeing another file type in photoshop in other words, it was started and saved as a photoshop document and now it won't open. Please help if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Also you may have enable show extensions for known file types in the folder options.
Getting the wording just a little wrong means people who don't know about the setting won't likely be able to find it...
Assuming you have a recent version of Windows, this will make it possible for you to see the actual file extensions:
Click Start and type folder options into the search box.
When Folder options comes up, click it.
    Click the View tab.
UNcheck the entry for [ ] Hide extensions for known file types.
After doing this, restart Photoshop and try your save again, making sure your file extension matches the file type you're saving (e.g., if you're saving a Photoshop (*.PSD;*.PDD) file, make it .psd).

  • Can not open adobe photoshop

when I am trying to open up any of my adobe sites a box pops up and says"The program can't start because PatchMatch.dll is missing from your computer" and "The program can't start because ExtendScript.dll is missing from your computer" does anyone know what either of these statements mean or what to do about it?
    Thank you
    N

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like what version of PS. Typically such errors either mean there were issues during install and the components are missing or they are being blocked by security tools, wrong file permissions, insufficient user privileges....

  • I have been getting a "Runtime Error" and can't open Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor

We are using Adobe Photoshop Elements version 9.0.3 (20110328.m.11320).  For several weeks it has not been possible to open the Editor, although the Organizer opens as usual.  We get an error message that says "Runtime Error! Program: ...\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information."  What can we do to correct this problem?

Thanks, Ken!  I have to reply by e-mail, as the Forum site has been down
    for maintenance since last night.
    I am running Windows 7 Professional SP1.
Uninstalling and booting should be straightforward.  I saved the
following files in my Downloads folder from my initial installation of
    Adobe PSE 9.0 on 4/22/11:
    Adobe_Photoshop_Elements_9-AkamaiDLM.exe (355 kb application)
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.exe (1,200 kb application)
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.7z (1,838,546 kb WinRAR archive)
Will these suffice for reinstalling the program?  Can you tell me how I
should go about the reinstallation?  (I tried to find a page to download
the Adobe PSE 9.0 program on the Adobe website, but could only locate a
patch for 9.0.3, which I think must already have been included in the
    original installation.)
Also, there are four folders, corresponding to four catalogs, in
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs.  Will those survive
the uninstall/reinstall process?  Should I back them up just prior to
uninstalling to preserve them for restoration after the reinstall?
Finally, should I back up the 9.0 and Organizer folders in
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer for restoration as well?  And
    the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements folder?
Thank you.  I am grateful for your help!

  • CS5 - Can't "Open With" Photoshop in Bridge?

I have CS5 installed and I am my defaults for Opening is Elements 8 on my
Vista machine and "nothing" on my XP laptop.
When on either machine and I right click an image, Photoshop is NOT an option to Open With.
If I go to preferences, I can manually set the default, but this is not an acceptable solution as I need my defaults to be something different.
For example, I need the default for my Nikon RAW files to remain Nikon Capture NX2, but I want the ability to right click and select the application I want to use.
How to I add Photoshop (or any other application) to the "Open With" List?

What you see on other programs in the list (aside the default, which is defined for Bridge only) of programs which a certain filetype were openend in the OS once.
For example (close Bridge / CS) and choose Quicktime as the default program for opening TIF in XP and you will have it in the list after Bridge was started again.
I'm afraid you need to do that for every application (close Bridge, choose a different default app for opening TIF in the OS, open Bridge again, and so on) you want to have in the list for a certain filetype.
When done don't forget to change it back to the default program you want to have it opened in the OS, f.e. CS5.
No need to make an application the default program (uncheck "always use the selected program to open this kind of file") - just say once "open with" and you will find it in Bridges "open with" list

  • I can't open some photoshop files it says "The command "Set" is not currently available."

What does this mean and how can I fix it? A corworker will make a photoshop file (Poster for example) and when i try to open it on my computer it wont open and says "The command “Set” is not currently available." What does this mean and how can I fix it? Thanks!

You are running some sort of automation when you open files - because that error message comes from automation (actions, scripts or plugins) that are trying to target something that isn't there.
Event Scripts was the obvious choice.
Automation plugins, or Flash Panels are the next most obvious -- try disabling all third party plugins and Flash Panels.
The error might come from Generator, if you have the latest Photoshop CC.

  • I installed a new hard drive and now can't open Adobe Photoshop Elements - what do I need to do?

My hard drive on my iMac crashed 2 wks ago, and I now have a new SSD harddrive. I had an image of everything from my old hard drive, but Elements won't open. What to do?

Because you are running lion.. FCS 6 is a Power PC app and Lion doesn't support Power PC anymore.. So you can't install it.. Three options..
    1. Revert back to Snow Leopard.
    2. Purchase FCP X...
if you can't stand FCP X
    3. Call apple directly, 1800-MYAPPLE and ask to purachse FCS 3 for $999... (its FCP 7)
I just got FCS 3 today through apple phone sales..
