Can't Open Two images at same time

I can't have two images open at the same timer in PhotoShop CS4.
I open a file and it displays.
Then go to File, Open...menu and open a secomd file.
Result THe second image opens and the first image goes away. Both files are shown in the Window menu, but I can't get both to display at the same time..
I've the CS4 upgrade from CS3 Extended. INtel Mac Pro
I'm sure thjere is a simple answer to this problem. I've been trying to find an answer, but haven't seen this posted.

Have You tried disabling Application Frame and turning off Preferences – Interface – Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window Docking?
And please do a forum-search, because I seem to have come across this problem repeatedly.

Ah... found the answer in the little box to the right of my question. The
problem was "tabbed windows' in prefs.

In the PS Application Bar (top of the window and auto selected if you have
the application frame active you have the Arrange Documents icon and the
Screen Mode icon (second from last and last at the left side)
With the arrange documents you can select different views for multiple
images that are tabbed. If you have 2 files open you only have the option
for two, if more you have other view options.
Just try it and and if you have set one image at the right place and zoom in
it's own field just go in the menu window/arrange and choose match all

Opening two projects at same time

I'd like to drag over clips from one project to another project. Anyone know if this is possible with IMOVIE HD v.5.0.2?

I'm actually in the "transition" from iM5 >> iM6 ...
that copy/paste thing between projects is what I missed most in iM5, and do use excessively with my latest project (two cameras, two perspectives, filming one event... two tracks would be nice, but copy/paste does work in this case, no need to fire-up FCE)

Can't open two separate images in CS5

I just upgraded from CS3 to CS5. While trying to open two images at the same time Photoshop changes the image I already have open to the second image I just selected. I have no clue how to change this so I can open separate images at the same time. Can someone please help me fix this?

If in full screen mode... simply tap the F key on the keyboard. You may have to tap it twice.
If you're documents are opened in tabs, look at the top of the document window, are there tabs? What happens if you click the other tab? You can turn off tabbed documents in the preferences. You can also click a tab and drag it out to make it a separate window.

Try a reset: Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for ten seconds until the Apple logo appears. Note: No data will be lost

yes, you can do..But one canvas should be stacked canvas..because you can't display two content canvases at the same time..other wise you can place items belongs to different blocks on one canvas..

Can't open CS2 image with photoshop

I had this camera, Canon 50d, for little more than two years.
Now it is time to start working with Raw image and can't open the image with Photoshop.
But I could open with EOS utility but want to work with Photoshop.

Photoshop CS2 will never directly open a Canon EOS-50D raw file. The raw files from every camera are different and your camera was designed after the Photoshop CS2 Camera Raw application stopped receiving updates.

That said, there is a free solution that will allow you to open your images indirectly.
Download and install the latest version of the free Adobe DNG Converter:

Whenever you have a folder full of raw 50D images run the DNG Converter on the folder to convert all the files to DNG format. You will have to select the proper compatibility setting.
You can now open the DNG files with Photoshop CS2's Camera Raw converter.
Just as an aside, the Camera Raw converter from the latest version of Photoshop delivers images of higher quality, so you may want to consider moving up to Photoshop CS6. Unfortunately you will have to pay full price; there's no Photoshop CS2 -> CS6 upgrade discount.

Multiple problems: can't open two windows, browser doesn't close although window disappears, and after working for a while I loose my ability to cut and paste or use drop down arrows

Maybe two weeks ago I discovered that I could no longer open two windows at a time (I can still open multiple tabs). I am also having problems with cutting and pasting, which is crucial to my on-line job. Plus, when I exit Firefox, it doesn't always shut down, so then when you go to re-open, of course, it won't (unless you go into process and turn it off). I have re-installed multiple times and I have also used restore. Nothing seems to be fixing this and I really, really don't want to use IE, especially for work.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I just spent several hours dealing with this when switching to a new PC. It was extremely frustrating as I knew my files were on my external HD but no matter how many times I copied my old iTunes folder over the files were still missing...because dummy me had forgotten to "unhide folders" on my new PC and my old files were actually stored in a hidden folder created long long ago.
This is how I did it on Windows 7 with iTunes 10
1. Look in iTunes Advanced Preferences to see where iTunes is saving files. (Edit, Preferences, Advanced)
Example: C:/Users/Woildbill/My Music/iTunes/Music
2. Ensure you are able to see hidden files - Control Panel, Folder Option, View, Show Hidden Files
3. Use Your Computer's Search Function to Locate the Missing File (Start, Search, type name of song - I started my search in "My Music" folder but be sure to expand to entire Computer if not found right away)
4. In Search Results, right-click found folder and select properties. This will tell you where the file is actually stored.
5. Use Windows Explorer (right-click start) to navigate to the location of the file. It is likley your other missing files are in the same location.
6. In Windows Explorer, copy the newly located files to the iTumes location from Step 1 and everything should work again.

Operating two Vis at same time

First time posting here on NI, need some help with setting up a Labview program. A little background so you know what we are attempting to do and the level of skills involved in it. I'm a undergrad research assistant and I have never used labview before until I started on this project and just have a basic understand of the program now. All the programs involved in this were written before I started on the project by other undergrad and grad students. So any answers will probably have to be dumbed down to a noobs level for me. Here is our problem :
We have two VIs that we are having to run at the same time. The First VI is a program that we use to run a automated arm/probe. It is setup to run manually by using the arrow keys on the keyboard or we have a grid system setup on our test box and can tell it were to travel too by inputting the x y cords into the program. The second VI is a safety loop, the testing we are doing is dealing with EM fields and detection of them. We have equipment that generates the field inside the test box but we can not allow it to get over a certain watts level. The second program was designed to detect when we reached this level and turn the system off for safety. Both of the programs work just fine.
So here is the problem, we can not run them at the same time which is an issue. Anytime they try and run them together the system bogs down then crashes or they just fail to load and run at the same time.
Here is the solution I would like to try and find. What is the best, fastest and simplest way to link both of this programs as a single VI that wouldn't take a lot of programming and knowledge. Basically the programming team that made the VIs is gone now. If needed I an post the VIs. Thanks for any help or input

I would guess that your programs are not programmed very efficiently and are running with what are known as greedy loops. That is, the VIs have a loop in them but don't provide any means for LabVIEW to switch between tasks. One, or both, are starving the CPU which causes your execution issues. Even some as simple as adding a Wait(0) to the loop will help to prevent greedy loops from occuring. Additionally, they could have issues with maintaining memory and do things like allowing arrays to grow infinitely large. Without seeing the code though it will be difficult to give you specific advice.

Connect two ipods at same time?

I have a fortunate problem/question. My son got a nano ipod and I got a 30MB ipod. We both would like to charge them and get running. Can you connect both at the same time? I have two USB ports and could physically do it. I know that you can use multiple units with a single computer, but there is nothing about charging them at the same time in the documentation.

When you are in one app, press the home button and open another app. You can't see more than one app at a time, but you can have as many open as memory will allow.
To quickly switch between the apps, double-click the home button. Active apps will be shown in the order you last used them. You can slide the active bar to see more of recent apps.

Fading Two sides of a video, and in between Two at the same time?

I'm terribly sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search but I couldn't find a similar question so again, I apologize.
Could someone tell me how to do these things?:
I have a split screen video (I know how to do that), and I want to fade one side out to black, and fade it back in throughout
the video.
Also, if I have one video (not split screen, just one fullscreen video), fade it between two videos (so that you can see both videos at the same time for a bit, kind of "ghost like", and then it will eventually transition to the other video). This effect is used in a lot of music videos, or Especially in a movie when time is passing by (like years) or there is a "flashback". You can see two videos at the same time on top of one another.
Again, sorry for the trouble, but if anyone has an answer thank you in advance!
