Can't order book

I created a book using iPhoto 4 and when I click on the Order Book button, it assembles the book and then nothing happens. No screen to pick the book, enter payment details, etc. Any ideas why?

Maybe too obvious a question, but can we assume that you have a live internet connection when you try ordering?

  • Can't order books with OSX 10.6.7 and Iphoto 7

I have Iphoto 7 and since I can't order books made with this version. I have OSX 10.6.8, so I cannot buy latest version.
Where can I get Iphoto 8 or Iphoto 11 so I can still ordering books without updating OSX?
I have a quite old iMac, so that's why I prefer not to update from Snow Leopard as it runs so good on my Mac.
    Thanks

You can purchase an iLife 09 or iLife 11 disk on ebay or amazon. Both will run on 10.6.8

  • After Leopard reinstall and upgrade can't order book

Had to do an erase and install yesterday and restored my harddrive from Time Machine. (My iMac hung on restart and that's the advice I got from support). Also did the 7.1.3 update.
Now, I can't order iPhoto books. It hangs on Connecting... when I hit order book, or, if I get past that, iPhoto will assemble the book and then hang when it tries to place the order and give me an error message about checking my network connections (it seems fine in other programs, but I'm not trying to upload a large file in anything else either).
Any ideas? I was hoping to order a book before the coupon expired tomorrow.

    Karen, Gale & Drowzy,
Am having the same "Network Connection Error" ever since last evening. I have contacted iPhoto/Photo Services Support HERE. and will post their response as soon as I hear something. I too am worried that the special discount will expire prior to our ordering. I have talked with an Apple tech, and he did acknowledge a problem. But he suggested that I post to the above for "exact" help. You may want to do the same.
    Good Luck,

  • IPhoto 2 can't order book, how to duplicate?

I have successfully created a book. When I click "Order Book," the book assembles, but when it gets to the "Connecting" window, it says "There is a problem. Try again later."
I've tried plenty of times. The book will not order.
I've updated all of my software. Customer service suggested that I try ordering under a different username. However, how do you transfer files? When I duplicate the albums, only the photos are duplicated, but the way I have arranged them on the pages of each book are not. Is there a way to maintain this as well?

I'm not familiar with Version 2 but you can do a print to PDF and then go to SharedInk.com and upload that pdf file for printing and binding. They have very similar covers (as I remember the cover photo is actually on the first page and there's a window in the front cover). Many users have reported very satisfactory results with SharedInk.
Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.

  • Can't choose order quantity, can't order book

I'm trying to order 3 identical books. I click "order book". The "Order Book" page pops up. I'm not able to change the quantity from 0 to 1. The only available buttons are "cancel" and "set up account" I click "set up account" and it opens the "set up account" page. This allows me to sign-in. I have 1-Click and an apple account. I enter my id and password and click "sign-in". An erro pops up "There was an error while accessing your account information. Please check your network connection and try again." I click "ok".
I'm online typing this with my open network connection. By logging onto the net or checking my email are my only ways of checking my network connection. Everything looks like I should be able to sign-in and buy a book. But it's not working.

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

  • Can't order book with 1.5

Last night I wanted to order a book (3 copies, actually). I thought it might be better to do this before upgrading to 1.5, but when I started the "Buy Book" process, Aperture put up a window with a strong recommendation to upgrade BEFORE ordering. OK - they probably know something I don't, I figured, so I did the upgrade. Aperture 1.5 started up and seemed to be acting normally, so I reviewed the book to make sure it didn't get munged in the library conversion. It looked fine, so I (finally) clicked on "Buy Book" again. After spending several minutes assembling the book, I was presented with an alert box:
    Unable to authenticate user.
This user could not be authenticated.
I tried contacting [email protected] and they blew me off with the excuse that they did not answer "technical" questions. They recommended I sift through the Aperture support site, and if that didn't work, to call "XXlocal_phone_numberXX". If they are going to respond with form letters, I think they ought to fill in the blanks first.
Fortunately, I had a backup plan. I kept a 1.1 version of the library and used 1.1 on my PowerBook to order.
Anyway - does anybody have a workaround or solution to this problem? Thanks.

I finally got an "answer" from Apple on this one. I find it surprising that they would not want to help me with a problem that prevents me from ordering prints or books under Aperture 1.5, because I've spent over $1000 this year on such orders.
What I received from Apple shows a very dim understanding of the problem, especially when one considers the fact that print and book ordering was working fine under 1.1.

  • Can't Order Book. Postal Code not accepted

I've spent days and nights.. creating a Book in Iphoto from my latest vacation.
Now when i'm finished i cannot order since my Postal Code(Zip Code) isn't accepted.
I live in Sweden and no matter what ZIp Code or variations of it i try (believe me i have tried) i cannot get past step2. I always get the dialog that i need to eneter a valid postal code.
I've searched the web and tried (just to get past the second step) postal codes for a few other countries, and the ONLY one working is when i try a US address and ofcourse select USA as the country.
I've tried with a new account, and with an existing account that works fine with itunes... Anyone have any ideas, or have i just wasted days creating a book i cannot order..

  • Can't order book - Verify (confirmation) step is a blank page...

I am currently in Australia trying to order a book with my Canadian credit card. After entering my info and address I guess I should go to another page to enter my billing address before confirming my order but instead I am staring at a blank page... forever... So I hit escape and I am back to the application having to restart all over.
I am using the trial version to see if I like it and so far...
    Thanks for your help.

Same thing happened to me; following the instructions at the end of this thread fixed it for me:

  • Can't order book...internet crashes all the time

I am using Snow Leopard and iLife 08 version of iphoto. I now want to print a book of 14.5mb file size. every time I try my internet crashes at different stages of the file transfer to Apple. Tried this several times now and at different times of the day and by using both wireless and ethernet...but it still crashes my internet connection....anyone got any clues ?

1 - It is best to post iPhoto '08 questions in the iPhoto '08 forum rather than the iPhoto 5 forum you posted in - I have requested that your thread be moved.
2 - have you talked to your internet provider?
    3 - have you previewed your book - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
4 - have you read the Apple suggestions - http://www.apple.com/uk/support/photoservices/account_troubleshooting/
5 - do you get any error message?

  • Order Book from iphoto

I'm here in Bangkok Thailand. Can i order book in iphoto from Bangkok thailand? or can i save a file and sent it to my sister in LA Ca. to order for me? do She need to used Apple computer to order or can she send file to some place else? Thanks really need an answer soon.. the book is for christmas giift.. thanks again

This can happen quite often, i don't think it is any of your hardware or cables that is affecting this. From my experience, i occured the same problem so i just thought i'd leave it because i wasn't to bothered anyway. But then weeks later i thought i'd give it a go and it worked fine and i recieved my album a week later.
It should work if you just 'forget about it' for a little while. I don't not believe there is a specific answer to why this occurs.

  • I currently have iPhoto 6.0.6, and can no longer order books.  Do I have to get a new operating system, or just update my iPhoto to the next level.

I currently have iPhoto 6.0.6.  I am no longer able to order books from this iPhoto.  Can I upgrade to the next iPhoto without purchasing a new operating system?

This thread might help: what does this mean "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the ability to order books and prints is no longer supported in iPhoto 5. Please upgrade to a newer version of iPhoto to order these products.

  • IPhoto Upgrade iBook G4 so can continue to order books & prints?

    Hi,
Trying to determine the lowest v iPhoto upgrade for continued ability to order books and prints...would that be the iPhoto version in iLife 05? ...don't want/need GarageBand, iDVD, etc., just iPhoto! Recommendations appreciated.

    This page
    http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ordering_options/
tells us that you can order books with v6 or later.
You can place orders for Print Products using iPhoto 6, iPhoto '08, and iPhoto '09, as well as Aperture 2.
As you're on 10.4.11 you might want to go to iPhoto 08 as it's the highest you can run, and will probably be easier to find. Note that you cannot upgrade to any version without purchasing the iLife suite.

Anyhow, try a different browser. What were you using?
