Can't pair Nokia 6700 to BMW 5 series (E60)

Hello,
Some days ago I've bought a Nokia 6700, now I have a problem to pair the phone via bluetooth to my car (BMW 5 series - E60). The phone just doesn't detect the car at all...
I've tried to pair the phone with another car (BMW X5), this worked without any problem.
Can anyone give me advice to solve my problem?

Cant give you advice but for info, today purchased a Nokia 6700 paired up with 57 plate 530d m sport no problem works just fine shows full contact list, previouse phone N95 8gb paired up but no contacts info. 6700 is on the latest BMW compatiable list.

Can't Pair Nokia 6303 Classic and Macbook White running Mac OS 10.5.7

I know the 6303 is not yet supported by iSync, so I downloaded and installed the Nokia Plug-Ins from http://shop.mactomster.de. They claim to cover the 6303.
When I try to pair the phone with the Mac, Bluetooth Setup Assistant 'sees' and names it correctly. The same numeric code is then displayed on the phone and the Mac, but pairing then fails every time.
Any suggestions? Mactomster hasn't got an answer, yet.

I'm going to answer my own question. All down to Bluetooth, I believe. I deleted all paired devices from Bluetooth and iSync, restarted and tried again. This time it worked, and I was subsequently able to re-pair the other devices (mouse and PDA) again, and to iSync successfully with the 6303, including To-Dos and Notes.

Can't open email Wav attachments. Nokia 6700

I have a business VOIP line and one of the benefits is that all voicemails are forwarded to my email address with the voicemail message attached as a .wav file. My Nokia 6700 will access the gmail account, but can't recognise or play the attached sound file. The error i get is "This file type is currently not supported for viewing"
I'm getting very fed up with the shortcomings of the phone and the nokia PC suite, (which should have been spelt PC **bleep**). I've had Nokia's for the best part of 16 or 17 years and I'm reluctant to swap it for an iphone or Samsung when all I really want is a phone, voicemail and the ability to sync with my outlook calendar. Not much to ask from what was the market leader, but from previous requests for help on this forum, I'm beginning to realise the Nokia are going the way of Saab. Can anyone suggest a solution to a simple question, or do i have to add to our balance of trade deficit by buying a new phone fron Korea?

If this is the Nokia 6700 slide then no as it uses '''Symbian OS''' 9.3 and also has a slow 600 Mhz ARMv6 type of cpu and only 128 MB Ram anyways even if it did have Android instead.

Nokia 6700s - problem with the headfones

i'm icieWind, I reacently purchase a Nokia 6700s, I love it!
the problem is my head fones, they don't work. there is no sound, the microfone is ok but the fones...
well I have two headfones, so I tried them on. my Nokia only say : "use cellfone microfone" how can I resolve this? please help

Try the headphones in another phone or music player and see if they work and do the same with another pair on your phone this will eliminate if its the headphones or the phone you can use 3rd party headphones its ok,also check that they are fully inserted correctly you should hear a click noise.

yes it would make sense. if you have an n series or e series phone there is a chance you will see those notes, changelog but usually it is not common practice for nokia as it is not public knowledge. sorry mate. keep googling for it, it might show up somewhere

Nokia 6700 and a2dp bluetooth

I have a brand new Nokia 6700 Classic. I try to connect it with a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth stereo headset, which supports the Bluetooth A2DP profile. Unfortunatelly Nokia says that no bluetooth devices were found. According to the specifications, it should support A2DP, so these devices should be compatible with each other.
What can I do wrong?
Ps. This headset works fine with my old phone, Nokia 6151
Ps2. Steps i take to connect devices (names may be inaccurate, I :
turn headset on
turn Nokia on :-P
go to Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Bluetooth
set Bluetooth to on
go to"Conn. to autio acc."
select "New search"
"Searching for devices" appears
result: "No devices found. Check that the device you are searching for has Bluetooth switched on and is set visible"

To pair the headset with your phone:
1. Make sure the headset is turned off.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth function and Bluetooth visibility in your phone (this makes the phone visible to other Bluetooth devices).
3. Place the phone within 20 cm (8 inches) of the headset.
4. Press and hold down the on/off key on the headset until the display shows the flashing pairing icon.
5. If your phone supports auto pairing, press "Yes" when you're asked to add the headset to the phone. If not, see your phone User guide on how to pair the Bluetooth device. If required, the headset passcode is 0000.
The headset shows the battery status and the on/off icon when successfully paired.
Note: When in pairing mode, the headset switches off if you don't pair it with the phone within 10 minutes.
Try the above with the steps you took on ur phone and it should pair up properly - most ppl tend to forget that u need to activate pairing mode on the headset as well as on the phone

Nokia 6700 on support website....when??

Does anyone know when Nokia will update their website support / OVI areas to include the new Nokia 6700. This handset is now on sale in the UK (I have one) but when you try and download the PC software / OVI maps or get general support on the website it is as if the Phone does not exist. More importantly the software update "can i update screen" does not recognise the phone either.
I even tried contacting Nokia directly using the contact us section but even that did not include the new model? Their reply was usual default useless response......thanks Zoey !! not.
I am hoping that this will be resolved soon as my first Orange 6700 crashed and died on the first day of ownership and I am still waiting for a replacement to be sent.
What happened? - Phone was fully charged and all I did was launch the included game (snakes 3) on starting a new game the screen displayed what seemed to be the main home screen with "?" logos where all the onscreen frames are displayed. The phone then switched off and would not restart again. Leaving the phone without power for 1hr did not resolve this and phone is officially dead. Just hope replacement works a bit better than this

first nokia russia where i m working refuse to the guarantry becasue it's bought from lebanon
i lebanon they send more for 100 KM to Nokia care
Nokia care said that need to change the camera but is not available
after one month and several calls and fighting my telephon came back to be with camera
that because i trust nokia and i didnt try the telephon before purchasing as my telephon Camera didnt work since the purchasing time
So, your telephone need for camera, is better to go to other service to change the camera (not Nokia) and sale your telephone because camera it's commun problem with this model of Nokia
i am very sorry to say that as since the last 15 years i didnt use other than nokia telephons but now i gone for other trade

Nokia 6700 default applications

Since updating my 6700 classic phone to firmware V07.60 my default applications have stopped working. All I get is a message saying "Supportive File. Nothing to display".
I have tried resetting the phone and reinstalling the firmware but I still get the same problem.
Does anyone know where I can download the default 6700 classic apps, in particular Converter, World Clock,and Brain Champ?

You might want to reflash the firmware. If you do not know how, go to your Nokia Care Centre.

Nokia 6700 Classic Voice DIalling Tags

I have just puchased a Nokia 6700 as a modern replacement to my faithful still functioning but somewhat battered 6230i. However I find that it seems that you can no longer attribute voice tags to individual entries for use in my handsfree car kit.
One seems to have rely upon the voice recognition software which, perhaps possibly because of my Somerset English accent, seems to have a zero success rate. For a handsfree kit having some options is not suitable and to me defeats the whole object of voice dialling. Is anyone aware of a software downgrade to take what is a really nice package back to something that is as useable as my previous 6230i?

Voice commands is a little different to the old Voice tags. Some people say the South African accent works best but there are ways around that.
First use the Playback option in the Voice Command menu to playback what the phone thinks each command should sound like. You should issue the commands as closely as possible to that. That was how I started and the phone seems to have learnt my accent now because nowadays it works almost all the time in my normal accent.

Dear sirs, I have a nokia 6700 classic and I cannot use the instant messaging system: I enter the “chat” application and I can select only the "Ovi" service.
How can I add other services (GoogleTalk, Messenger, Yahoo talk)???

Nokia 6700: how to read the full E-mail??

Hi there,
When I am browsing the internet with my Nokia 6700 I can use the navigation key to scroll up, down, left and right. But when I am reading my E-mails. I can only scroll up or down, so I can not read the text which is on the right side of the E-mail... I have tried to change the settings (640 x 480 etc.), but the E-mail appearance did not change, nor did the size of the letters.
Does anyone know how I can change this?? It is kind of anoying that I am not able to read the full E-mail...

As you guess, it is stored in the PSD, but only with the Maximise Compatibility switch. Without that switch, a dummy image is stored which has the text "This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image.", in English, German, Japanese and French.

Nokia 6700 browser problem

I am trying to use the browser that is on default installed on my nokia 6700 but when i try to login in my facebook i can't because the letter's im writing are blank.The probem seems to be only in facebook and i dont know why. When i click okay it says nothing has been written. The letters are blank. I tried to change the writing settings and nothing seemed to work. I reinstalled the software of the phone and it still has the same problem.

It seems that nokia c3 has the same problem too. I was wondering if my phone was broken but it seems that the problem is with facebook itself. I hope they fix it soon.. Because the problem is 2 weeks old and they can't fix it still.

I had bought a Nokia 6700 classic. Would buying a large memory slow down my mobile phone?

this phone can handle a 16 gb card so you will be fine with the 8gb only if the higher card was at maximum capacity in general yeah it would slow things down a bit
