Can't pair wiimote with macbook pro

Hi all, I'm trying to pair my wiimote (wii controller) with my macbook pro but i'm having problems. Basically i setup the wiimote to be discoverable, goto add new bt device from the mbp, it sees the wiimote, but keeps asking me to enter a passcode on my wiimote! I somehow need to tell the mbp to not need a passcode but cant find where to do that. any ideas?

sorry ignore me... found it! :P

What is the highest memory I can up grade to with macbook pro 4,1?  I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, but only have 2 gb RAM.

DDR2 - 667Mhz is the RAM for your Macbook.....
You can upgrade to 6GB if you prefer to do so.......
But you can get away with 4GB.....

  • How can I use airplay with Macbook Pro 9,2 Mid 2012/ Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5

What do I need to do to play Airplay on Apple TV from my computer.  The option is not in my display setting, so, obviously, I do not have the capability.  Do i need to upgrade my software?

    You can't.
    About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs  that do not support Airplay and mirroring.

  • Can't get online with Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro from 2009 and am having trouble connecting to my home network. The desktop PC has internet connection which is how I posted this message, so I am assuming that my home network or the router are not the problems.
The same problem occured for me earlier yesterday while I was at University but I just assumed that the network was slow on campus. It wasn't until I got hot and couldn't connect to my own network with my Macbook that I became suspicious.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I've disconnected the router in my basement and reconnected it to ensure it wasn't my network having problems. I've reset Safari and emptied my Cache to determine if that might help. I'm all out of ideas, if anyone has any troubleshooting tips I would greatly appreciate it.
My agreement for technical support with Apple expired and I would really like to avoid paying $50+ for a 30 day agreement for one problem. Thanks!

    We'll need some more information.
When you try to connect what are you seeing?
When you go to Network Settings (System Preferences > Network) what does it report? Does Wi-Fi say Off or On? (This image is from an iMac connected via wire to the network but I wanted to give you an example of the screen).  Does your Wi-Fi say Connected or off?
Do you see something similar in Wi-Fi as what I have shown below for Ethernet? Basically does your Wi-Fi in "Status" say "Connected. Wi-Fi is currently active and has the IP address xx.xx.xx.xx."?  If it does not then you are not even seeing the Wi-Fi network.

  • Can't Pair Phone with Macbook Air with Yosemite

I just upgraded to Yosemite and now I can't pair my iPhone 6 with my Macbook Air. I believe, and I may be wrong, that I have to have the devices paired via Bluetooth to have the features such s being able to answer my phone on my MacBook Air, or using my Air to make a call via my iPhone etc..
This will be the first time I have tried to pair them together.
Both my Phone and my MacBook Air show the other device. When I click on pair on the Air I get the message with the number, which shows on my phone as well, and then I click pair on the phone to accept, and then I get the error "Connection Unsuccessful" saying that my MacBook Air is not supported. Really?
Is this a fix coming with IOS 8.1?
    Anybody have an answer?

ok. I figured it out. Not the bluetooth part, still won't pair, but I have the "answering my iPhone" with my mac part figured out. I just had to turn on the "iPhone cellular calls" option under FaceTime settings.

  • Can't Eject CD with Macbook Pro

I'm having a bit of trouble with the eject feature in general on my MacBook. At first I noticed that I couldn't eject disk images or external drives attached to my computer, and now I realized that the eject button on my MacBook Pro keyboard doesn't even do anything. I try to eject a CD and nothing happens. The usual notification (eject icon) doesn't even pop up.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Using a third-party program (like Ejector) works fine, but I'd rather have the actual integrated features work.
I previously had an eject icon in my Menu Bar and got rid of it not too long ago. Did I perhaps disable it the wrong way? I don't remember exactly how I disabled it (whether a command in terminal, third-party program, through some Finder preference, etc.).
Any help would be great. Thanks!

Create the new admin account, log into it, and see if it works there. If so, then you're best bet is to delete the original, saving its data, recreate it using the same username/password combo, log into it, mount the saved data disk image in /Users/Deleted Users, and slowly move the plists back into the Preferences folder until you track down the conflicting ones or corrupted ones.

  • HELP!!!! Can't do anything with MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro keeps booting from the Tech Tool Pro CD I was using to repair the volume structure on the hard drive. Problem is, I can't get it to boot from the repaired hard drive, because none of the startup keyboard commands work!!!
Holding down D doesn't boot from the hard drive
Holding down Option doesn't give me a choice of startup volumes
Holding down the eject key (or the mouse button) doesn't eject the disc
Holding Command-Option-P-R doesn't reset the RAM
Even plugging in an external USB keyboard and mouse and using these commands doesn't work. In each case, the computer re-boots from the Tech Tool Pro CD, which essentially renders the computer useless.
    Does ANYONE have ANY ideas?

    Try resetting your SMC.

  • Can bluetooth gps work with MacBook Pro?

If you have an iPhone, you have a gps and bluetooth. I'd like to get a MacBook Pro to sync with that geo locating capabilities, and/or with a Dual XGPS150. Anyone know a way to do this? Is it possible?

Thanks for the reply chattphotos. It just seems odd that Apple would not recognize this would be a useful feature for astronomers, geologists, photographers, and other professions that use geo-related laptop applications. Oh well.

  • Can connect to Snow with MacBook Pro but not G4

I have used my G4 with the airport for a long time. I recently got a MacBook Pro and it connects in fine to the ABS. Both worked connecting to the ABS for a few months. Suddenly, the G4 quit recognizing the ABS. Nothing I do allows it to find it. Could there have been a software update that caused this? There was a thunder storm, but no recognizable issues on the G4, everything seems to be fine...except it doesn't see the Airport.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

try unplugging your broadband modem and ABS for a short time and plug them back in.

  • Can't pair iphone with macbook (air)

I haven't been able to pair my iphone 3GS with my macbook. I want to pair it via bluetooth to use an app that I purchased to control keynote.
I have had this problem with a macbook and macbook air.  Two weeks ago my main computer was an older black macbook and my iphone would not pair with my macbook, I thought maybe because the macbook was just getting on; as my (bad) luck would have it I was foced to purchase a new computer, and purchased a macbook air and I am just finding that it still doesn't work.
When I go to pair it, I can get to the point where I accept the pair but then when I click on pair from the iphone, it says my macbook is not supported.
I have searched these forums and have not found an answer that works for me. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give.

This is a problem with the bluetooth and the macbook air.  I mentioned the reason behind my need to pair - as it is not to share music, internet, etc. which I understand may be an issue.  I cannot find how to get support from the app maker, which is apple from my understanding. This app, keynote, only controls the keynote app on my mac. I haven't had any problem pairing the iphone and keynote but I need to control my keynote using bluetooth, as I have no garuntee that I will always be in a place with wifi or be able to access the wifi.

  • Yamaha MOTIF ES8 Can't get working with Macbook Pro

I found this post but it's been archived and the person still couldn't get it working. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1076838
I can't either, I hook up the Motif via USB and change it to USB and my Mac doesn't see the device under Audio Midi, such an expensive Keyboard and it's going to waste. Half the reason I got a mac was to use it with my keyboard, never thought I'd have so much trouble. I'm using the AMS but it never registers and Logic Pro never sees any device. Not that I know how to use Logic Pro.

    Did you install the drivers?

  • Pairing remote with macbook pro

I cannot pair my remote, when I go to setting preferences I cannot see that pairing box to tick ...

I do not know if Mountain Lion is the same as Mavericks, but
System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy tab -> Advanced -> [_] Disable  remove control infrared receiver (must be UNCHECKED), and then there should be a "Pair..." button.
