Can't paste artwork

when I try to paste a jpg file into the artwork box after entering get info for a track, all I see is a picture that says JPEG not the picture itself, does anyone know how to sort this?

Try drag-and-dropping the image into the "well" (the box).

Thanks for the reply. I used to copy the image from FireFox "Copy Image" or copy the image from Photoshop and just paste into the "Artwork" box in "Multiple Item Information". It always OK but now it just appear the tick only and blank in the box.
One time I tried copy image from ACDSee, it worked!!! It can paste from ACDSee!!!
I'll try "drag & drop" the image into the artwork box when I get home tonight, where I work is using MAC, can't test here.

I have just dowloaded iTunes new version 10.4 (on Windows), and I can't paste artwork from Word anymore, only directly from the net (where the size or the quality are not always optimal). Any way around this?

After spending another two days on pinning down the iTunes 10.5 blank store page problem, here's the solution to be found: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3372617?start=0&tstart=0
Look out for "japiohelp".
In short:
a) press Windows key + "R", enter "cmd", and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter (= runs as admin)
b) enter "netsh winsock reset" and pres enter
c) reboot the computer

Can't Paste Artwork in iTunes

Ever since I upgraded a month-and-a-half ago (both iTunes and Mavericks), I cannot paste artwork into iTunes files (movies/TV/Music). Everything else works fine, but once I copy a picture into the file it simply doesn't "take". If you reopen the file (Get Info) the artwork tab is blank. Any thoughts?

After upgrading I can't paste album artwork.

Ever since I have updated iTunes to 10.4.0.80, I can't paste in album artwork. After I try to paste in my artwork for an album, the artwork is all black.

I never had this problem before the most recent update. I am on Windows 7 64-bit with all the latest updates.

I just want to copy and paste artwork in my music files that I have modified. The Shift, right click on the file, and Get Info doesn't work with iTunes 12.
Does anyone know a work around for this?

I always advise my Contribute clients to "scrub" any Microsoft text before pasting it. You might be able to do this by changing the doc to .txt? Hopefully that would get rid of the layout code embedded in a doc or docx document.
However, since I don't trust anything Microsoft seems to have excess code attached, I first put it into Text Edit on my Mac and save it. Not sure what the equivalent program is on Windows. I think an email program could work just as well, Twigman. You might ask your tech how to save the MS doc so it has no code, like pure ascii text. That way, they will not have to leave Word to scrub the old code out.

Can't add artwork to album

I have imported many cd's recently and since installing the latest Leopard update I have had a strange issue appear in iTunes relative to artwork.
Some albums did not find artwork to download (par for the course), so I went out to Google images or Amazon and downloaded the image, or I scanned it (as a jpg).
The problem is that I cannot add the artwork to the songs. I am not a novice iTunes user and I have over 50,000 songs in my collection and this is the first time I've had this issue. I have tried the following methods to no avail:
1. Select all the songs in the album, Get Info and drag jpg image to the little artwork box or double click the box and find the file on my hard drive.
2. Select a single song, Get Info, click on artwork tab and drag jpg image to the little artwork box or double click the box and find the file on my hard drive.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with a single track. All 4 of these actually show the artwork, but when I click Ok to save it, it never shows up in Cover Flow or the Now Playing box. When I go back into Get Info, it's gone.
4. Select a playing track and drag the jpg file to the Now Playing "Drag Album Artwork Here" display box.
5. Select a playing track, copy the jpg file from a Finder window, right click in the Now Playing "Drag Album Artwork Here" and select paste (this actually does add a blank white box which I can then select and delete in the Get Info window for a single track).
All of these methods have worked for me in the past (right up until about 11/21), and now not a single method will work. Nov. 28th is the first time I tried this that it did not work. I updated Leopard to 10.5.1 right around that time. I am running iTunes 7.5 (last updated 11/8/7). My iTunes library is on an external disk (has been for two years), but again, this problem just started occurring last week. I ran a verify and it came up clean.
I could not find a single thread that described this problem (usually people just didn't know how to do it). Has anyone else experienced this?

Hallo, I fear this will not help you, but I have the same problem: Can add artwork to music but not to videos. Maybe a problem with metadata:
I import videos from a tv-recording-program (eyeTV). It works perfectly. When it finishes recording I export the film to iTunes 7.6. When it gets there it is stored under "TV Shows" and has a strange name (f.e.: "Mice hunt, slapstick comedy 1997").
So I got to the Get Info and correct the name, classify it as comedy and set it to "Movies". Clicking OK it is correctly renamed, classified and displayed under "Movies".
Then I go again to "Get Info" and want to add an artwork. I can import the artwork and it is displayed in the Cover-window of "Get info". But when I now click OK the new artwork isn´t displayed and all my information that I changed are restored: The Movie is again "Mice hunt, slapstick comedy 1997".
I have the feeling that it has something to do with the changing of Metadata for videos and with iTunes version 7.6 (in 7.5 everything worked well). So I fear, I´ll have to wait for a bug update.

ITUNES COPY AND PASTE ARTWORK PROBLEM

Ive had a problem ever since I downloaded the newest itunes update and want to see if anyone else is having this issue. I hope I can explain this accurately.
When you have the album artwork displayed on the bottom left hand of the itunes screen. I used to be able to double click on the artwork and copy that album cover art and paste it onto another track. Ever since Ive updated itunes a couple weeks ago, the double clicking is no longer working. When I doubleclick, it just doesnt work and doesnt give me the option to cut or copy anymore. So now I have no ability to cut/copy and paste artwork from one album to another. I used to always do t his routinely without a problem. Is anyone else having this issue or have an idea what is going on? Did a setting accidentally change?
Im talking about the album artwork on the bottom left of the screen. Double clicking it no longer works- doesnt give me any options. (The music is not purchased from itunes so I often manually update the artwork)

Copy from the artwork panel (and image selection between multiple artwork) is broken on this build. You can still copy art from the artwork tab in Get Info.

In iTunes 10.4 or 10.5 beta I can't add artwork to ALAC files by pasting or dragging them to the album.
Please fix this.

It's a bug with iTunes 10.4.0.80 (and presumably the beta?). If you copy and paste from some web browsers or an image editor then iTunes pastes in a transparent image of the same dimensions. This shows up black in the artwork panel at the bottom left or white in the get info art viewer.
If you work with an image file stored on your computer you should get better results. Use the artwork box on the Info tab of the Get Info. dialog for multiple tracks to replace all existing images. With a single track you will need to delete the existing corrupt images from the Artwork tab first.

Can't import artwork manually in vista

Trying to import artwork manually - in browser, items selected, get info window - I can paste, drag and drop or add jpeg artwork (right size) into artwork box but it doesn't show up in main window and when I return to get info it has disappeared completely. Updated to latest iTunes which is an improvement - before the arwork pasted itself to the top left corner of the get info window before disappearing - but still no good to me. This is a headache as I have a very large collection to rip only about half of which has artwork that can be found automatically(so far). Beginning to believe the warning about iTunes Windows Media Player is starting to look far less cumbersome. Please redeem yourselves iTunes users cos I love the interface!

Sorted it - can't change artwork manually on WAV files - means I have to import in apple lossless. Is this just to tie me down in apple's backyard? Oh well, windows play the same games. Spondulicks rule.

Can't add artwork

I have some videos (m4v) that I can see in the cover flow pane. They show without artwork. When I try to add it (thru the drag window) it won't accept it. This does not happen with music, where most of the artwork is easily pasted and appears in the cover flow right away....any hints?

Hi, i have got the same problem...i got the new version of itunes and i was adding artwork to my albums and it worked for the first 5 albums but then itunes stopped saving the artwork to any other songs....i made sure none of the songs were read only, which they were not.....i can put the artwork on the song but it does not save it, if i click off the song it disappears...and if i add artwork to a group of songs if never shows up, like nothing ever happened....i have uninstalled and reinstalled and its the same....any help would be great..thanks

I am trying to make duplicate documents with minor adjustments to each and when I try to copy the artwork from one document and paste it into the new document I keep getting the error "Can't paste the objects. Both documents are exactly the same size, res, color format etc. I even tried to drag and drop and get the same error message. Anyone know what I can do to resolve this issue?

Try scaling the view size down to 6% or so and then do a Select All. See if there are objects off the artboard which may be causing this error. Most often you will see this if there were guides dragged from a ruler which were selected by dragging the white arrow and then deleted. This leaves the anchor points at the edge of the work area.

Problem pasting artwork direct from AI

Hi,
I am new to InDesign from Quark . Absolutely loving the workflow in InDesign. Making my life much easier!
I understand that you can paste elements directly from AI into InDesign and that it embeds then rather than links them. This works fine however when I resize any reasonably complex artwork InDesign seems to move elements within my artwork around.
I have tried outlining everything etc before pasting it in. This doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any ideas?

While you can copy/paste simple illustrations and get editable paths in ID if you want them (to use as a frame, for example) Illustrator's capabilities are far more complex than those in ID and the translation is not always good for more complex drawings. You may get an image instead.
I almost never copy from Illustrator. If it's simple enough that it would work, I can probably get by drawing it directly in ID, and If I can't, it's probably complex enough to require placing instead.
