Can't pathping in Win 8.1

I play WoW and sometimes I have to troubleshoot connections issues. I use the tracert and pathping commands to look up where the issues might be. I had problems with this on XP, no problem with it on Win 7. On Win 8.1 ( a comp less than 3 months
old) I have used 2 different laptops with this same router and have had no issues. One ran XP and the other Win 7 ultimate. I get this response (only with Win 8.1)  when I try to pathping:
Tracing route to 63.240.104.93 over a maximum of 30 hops
  0  Mikes.gha.chartermi.net [192.168.1.130]

  0                                           Mikes.gha.chartermi.net [192.168.1.130]
Trace complete.
The command I use is as follows:
pathping 63.240.104.93 > c:\pathping.txt
I have tried this on command prompt(admin) and the regular command prompt.
I'd appreciate any pertinent comments anyone has. TY all in advance!

Hi,
I don't even see a loss rates in the pathping result you provided before. and it shows "Computing statistics for
0 seconds", this is really strange, have you pasted the full pathping result here? Or as I mentioned before, you can try to pathping your own ip as a test. What is the result if we use other tool, simple like ping to Google website? Make sure
to install latest driver for network adapter,  reset router, get latest firmware for router.

    Thanks for helping me

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files (x86)
    C: >> Program Files >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
Select that file and click Next.
    Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen.

  • Can anyone provide me wine-1.1.11-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz?

Seems 1.1.12 has some nasty bugs that dont allow me to run some of my games anymore.
Since i am on 64bit i cant compile it easily...

Yes, you should always keep wine packages somewhere OUTSIDE /var/cache/pacman/pkg.
I've started doing this. I can also upload the wine version you are interested in, but my upload speed is also very very very low.
Just trust Anarconda and wait for it

  • U410 - Can't boot with Win 8.1 OR Ubuntu

    Hi-
I have been trying to fix a dual-boot issue with Win 8.1 and Ubuntu, and I've totally screwed up my boot record.  I was advised to look at the instructions below, and it might help me straighten out my boot situation.  After following these directions, I can no longer boot into anything now.
    Here's what I did:
This also may be part of the issue as Windows and UEFI copy between themselves.
Remove Duplicate Firmware Objects in BCD and NVRAM
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...=ws.10%29.aspx
I followed the directions outlined above, and now I can't do anything. When I start it up, it boots into Windows Boot Manager with a single entry for Ubuntu. When I selected that, it gives me the usual warning that it can't find the .efi file or .mbr file. The (really) bad part is that I can't get to the UEFI Firmware Setup (i.e., the old BIOS menu), so I can't boot from a USB - I'm stuck. When I boot it up, it does flash for a split second, almost like it goes to another screen (the UEFI menu?), but then goes into the Win Boot Mgr.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get into the UEFI firmware settings?  I've tried to hit F12 (and every other F* combination) during boot, but it still just flashes for a second, and then goes into Windows Boot Manager.  If I could get to the UEFI settings, I could boot from USB into a Windows rescue/rapair USB device, but I can't get to it at a moment, so I'm in limbo.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be muchg appreciated, as I'm stuck and can't do anything.
    Thanks,
    Nipper

  • Can't Scan to Win 10 Network Folder from HP MFP

Hi - I have an HP MFP M425dw printer/fax/scanner on a small wired Lan, (all my devices are 192.168.0.xxx)
I have Win 10 TP on a pc, and Win 10 Server TP on another box
I can scan from my MFP's Control Panel, to a share on my WD NAS, also to a share in a Windows7 Hyper-V VM, running on Win 10, but I just can't get my scanner to scan directly to a Win 10 share (I've tried shares on Win 10, and also on
    Win 10 Server)
The error message advises checking the spelling of the share name
I've tried different shares, different users, permissions, disabling firewalls, using
    \\ip-address\share instead of
    \\servername\share
I can see the share in explorer from a pc
Any ideas ? (it also worked fine with Win 8.1 / WS2012 R2)

In reviewing the network trace, it appears that the HP MFP devices using NT LM 0.12(SMB1) only and does not support any other SMB version. I see the SMB:C Negotiate request coming from the HP MFP device, however the Windows 10 machine never responds back
with the SMB:R Negotiate that should be expected. After about 15-20 seconds, the HP MFP closes the TCP connection to the Windows 10 machine. This may be due to a known issue identified with SMB1 over NetBIOS that will be fixed in a later build of tech preview,
however I am not sure when. The reason your other devices are able to connect to the shares is that they are using SMB2 or SMB3 as the protocol medium to connect the devices instead of using the legacy SMB1 over NetBIOS (TCP Port 139) that was shipped with
Windows XP / Server 2003. I would recommend to run the below script to ensure SMB1 is at least enabled, however you may have to wait until the fix is released in order to allow the HP MFP device to communicate with your Windows 10 machine. The other option
would be to reach out to HP to see if they have updated software that allows the HP MFP device to utilize SMB2 or SMB3 (TCP port 445) to communicate with network share locations.
    $smb = get-smbserverconfiguration
    $smb.enablesmb1protocol
If the script returns True, then SMB1 is enabled.

  • Can't print from, Win 7 to a XP with 5650 deskjet.

I need to print  to a desktop with XP (SP3) from my HP desktop with Win 7.  I have treid to install the printer (via Add Printer) but the install fails, stating that it can not find the .inf file.  What driver file will work?

Oh, OK.  Plug the printer into your Win 7 machine with the USB cable (unplug it from the XP machine).  Turn the printer on and the Win7 machine will download drivers for it.
When it is done, plug it back into the XP machine and then Add Printer on the WIn 7 machine to add a "network" instance of the printer.  Delete the USB instance of the printer in Control Panel > Devices & Printers when you are all done so you are left with only the "network" instance of the printer.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • TS5407 How can I get my Win 8.1 PC to detect my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2) and connect to iTunes (12.0.1.26)?

I recently upgraded my Win 8 PC to Win 8.1 and my iTunes to the new 12.0.1.26 and now my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2) does not connect to iTunes. I can see all my backups, apps and music etc from previous use of iTunes. Each time i plug my iPhone into my PC I get a prompt to "Trust this Computer" which I do each time accept but still no connection.
How can I get it to connect to my new iTunes version?

    Hi there JSJF,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below if your device isn't recognized in iTunes.

  • How can I read a Win 8.1 Boot Disk on a Win 7 machine?

I just had what I think was a power supply failure on my HP desktop running Win 8.1.
My issue is, while the machine is away getting fixed, I need to be able to read content from the HDD, to use my HP Laptop to do work in the meantime.
I have a USB bridge that I often use to hook up to SATA drives, to read/write, etc.  But for this disk, when I connect it to the interface, and plug it into the Win 7 laptop USB, it shows up as a RAW drive, Keeps wanting me to format it.
I know this probably has to do with the encryption "feature" under UEFI, and Secure Boot, but I'm getting out of my depth with the nuances of 8.1.
I know it should be possible to read this disk, given the proper software, etc.  But how do I do it?  I really need access to some of this data, and read-only access would be fine with me, if that is all I can get.
I did create a "Recovery Hard Disk" for that machine on another drive, so I have that, but until I get the machine back, that doesn't seem to do me any good.  Or will it?  How?
Anyone have any ideas?  Any suggestions?  This is getting to be a major headache...
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hi,
What's the disk type of Windows 8.1 system, GPT or NTFS? It's really hard to identify where the problem it is, but you can try to fix the Disk by using checkdsk command:
Open CMD, then type the command: Chkdsk /f X: X stands for drive letter.
If there is any progress with this problem, please feel free let me know.

  • How can I return to Win 8.1 from Win 10

I've updated to Windows 10 TP from win 8.1 few weeks ago, but I didn't backup anything. I find win 10 slow at startup. I want to return to windows 8.1, I've tried using Win 8.1 ISO file but Windows says "Windows
8.1 setup has failed". Is there any another way to return to win 8.1 (or re-setup win 8.1 using ISO file)
(I've tried using recovery but it just have "Uninstall Preview Updates" no "Recovery" in "Recovery and Maintaince your system" menu)

    Hi,
As david suggested, if you want to go back to Windows 8.1, you need to reinstall it.
This is documented in this article:
Before you install Windows Technical Preview
If you want to go back to your previous operating system
You'll need to reinstall your version of Windows from the recovery or installation media that came with your PC (typically DVD media). If you don't have recovery media:
For Windows 7 or Windows Vista: Before you update, you might be able to create recovery media from a recovery partition on your PC using software provided by your PC manufacturer. Check the support section of your PC manufacturer's
    website for more info.
For Windows 8.1 or Windows 8: You might be able to create a USB recovery drive. For more info, see
Create a USB recovery drive. If you didn’t create a USB recovery drive before you installed the preview, you can
create installation media for Windows 8.1.

If my HDD clear and i need full new install winodws 8, where i can find my Windows 8.1 serial number ?
    Thank you .

    > Why result is different?
Your notebook is an Portege Z10T-A140 PT131V-00H005AR
Of course its Windows 8.1 upgradable and supported.
On the Windows 8.1 update supported models page you can find the Portege Z10T PT131V.
    > Other my question :
    >I can not my Windows 8 serial number and i can only view last 5 digit number .

I recommend reading the user manual. There you can find info about Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.
The recovery media creator would allow you to create an Recovery disk. Such disk install the Toshiba image on the notebook again. The serial key is not necessary because the Windows 8 will be activated automatically using Toshiba image.
