Can't pause music

Only happens in iPod mode, while music is playing, the pause button doesn't work - no reaction from my finger. All other functionality in all other apps is fine - it's like that one button (pause/replay) goes dead. It's intermittent so I can't reproduce it for Apple Store.
Anyone else?

It is a good idea to power a GSM phone off and on every couple of days or so, and with a GSM phone in the "smart phone" category, I think it is a good idea to do on a daily basis.
I power my iPhone off and on first thing each morning.

Can't pause music from lock screen in iOS 6?

I have my iPhone 4s set up with a passcode. In iOS 5 I could pause and resume music and podcasts without having to unlock the phone with my passcode. I no longer have that ability in iOS 6. If I have a song or podcast playing the phone will Auto-Lock after a minute, and to pause playback I have to slide the slider and then enter my passcode to make the controls visible.
I've done a fair number of searches to determine whether this can be controlled with a setting but haven't been able to find any answers. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or did Apple remove this functionality?

PS: I wasn't planning on upgrading to iOS 6 any time soon, but I dropped my 11-month-old iPhone 4s a week ago during our first trip to New York. Smashed the front glass (couldn't find my bumper before we left). Out-of-warranty, no Apple Care. It turns out we were only a few blocks away from the upper west side Apple store. They replaced the shattered phone with a "new" one for $200 (plus $50 for Applecare and $30 for a case), but ended up with a phone running iOS 6. So now there's this lock screen control issue, plus the map issues (which weren't too bad). On the bright side, I made a lot of use of the Panorama photo feature on our trip. And I was happy we were able to get a replacement within an hour, even though it cost $200+.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner! Thanks so much Steve A. Double tapping the Home button does toggle the player controls on and off from the lock screen.
I was hoping it would be something simple like that.
Just wondering, is that functionality explained somewhere? As I wrote in my first post I did several searches to come up with a fix or explanation for this issue.

I can not pause music in control center after ios7.01

This just started after the ios 7.01. Is it a software issue? Apple get on this please.

I have this same issue but with a little more information. My boyfriend has an iphone 5s and I have a 4s. We recently purchased a Yamaha TSR-6750 and tried to use the Airplay. His phone sees the airplay and uses it for about 20 minutes and for no reason unpairs itself. My 4s doesn't see it at all regardless of all of the suggestions we have used and tried. Funny thing is we bought a little unit at Radioshack called an Auvio 1500465 that is at least consistent. It was a $35.00 purchase and no idea why this would be reliable and the others not. So frustrating when you're listening to a song you like and it suddenly kicks it out and you can't get it back. I hope we can find a solution soon but thought this may be useful.

Pausing music

Is there a way to pause music without going t the music tab? For example, if I'm using safari. Also if it goes to sleep, can I pause music without typing in my passcode?

Try double clicking on the Home button while your iPod is locked and you should get the same mini iPod control

The music app on my Iphone 5 is acting up, it keeps skipping songs and wont allow the to play. You can see the music icon the on notification bar play and pause. When i go back to the app is states the url is not responding. I have restored it.

I think it must be the app or the ios.

restore with itunes not from an itunes backup or cloud save they do absolutely nothing only a clean restore will solve your problem

How can I stop (not pause) music "now playing?"

After playing a song on iPhone 5 IOS7, I can only "pause" it and not "stop" it. This is a problem because when I connect to my car's bluetooth audio system, it says bluetooth audio is paused, and Maps won't speak directions through the car audio system.
Now if I resume playing the song, Maps will lower the song volume and speak directions through the car audio system, but I don't want to have to listen to music just so Maps will speak directions through the bluetooth systems.
I consider this a serious bug. And if there is a way to stop the music then its not intuitive. I've tried everything including reboot, hard reset, double clicking home button and swiping away the music app all to no avail.

The pause should not "run out". Something may be amiss if this is happening.
If you want to totally stop the music you can terminate the iPod App by using the "recently used" Apps tray which is accessed by double-clicking the home button. Press and hold an App icon for a couple of seconds and a "minus sign" will appear at the upper left corner of the icons. Touching the minus sign will remove that App.

Re-pair the devices and you should be good.

My itunes page has been replaced by a small window in the upper left hand corner of the desktop. i can control my music, but cannot access radio, itunes store etc. ie can only play my music in a random order that i cannot control. i am unable to return

i was listening to the radio on i tunes and suddenly the itunes page dissapeared and a small window appeared in the upper left hand side of the desktop. i can control only my music via this window which has a search fwd and back arrow and a play and pause button. there is also a volumn set to full. i can control my music by the volumn control at the top rt of all pages. i want to access the itunes store and the radio, but cannot (can access the itunes store by googleing it.

1. A 13" screen is awfully small to do any efficient editing. The 15" gives you significantly more on-screen real estate.
2. All of the MacBook Pros can run FCE. However the graphics processor in the 13" model will limit some functionality with effects. See Tom's earlier comment.
3. Not much difference. All these cpu's are fast. There will be more overall system performance gain from the quad core at the slower speed.
4. FCE cannot use more than 4GB RAM anyway, so the 4GB that comes with every MBP is more than adequate. If you expect to use Aperture or CS5 then go for more RAM, otherwise there's not much reason to add RAM. You will be better off spending your money upgrading to the 7200rpm hard drive.
5. Everything will be smaller on the high res screen; there are just more pixels (1680x1050) on the same 15.4" screen area. (I have a 15" MBP with the standard 1440x900 screen and it is beautiful.)

I can't play music or videos!!

I can't play music or videos on iPod touch 5! When I play music it pauses and plays by itself and then Siri randomly pops up and then goes away again. The same happens with videos on YouTube; when I watch them they randomly pause and my music starts playing and then Siri starts! I have tried resetting it and it is not insured. Please help?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- dusconnedc/unpluf any headpohnes. Maybe headphone problem is causing problem
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
