Can't play a podcast in Safari on iPad or iPhone

I have always been able to play podcasts from my website on my iPad and iPhone but this week I get the play icon with a circle/slash through it. The podcast plays in iTunes and in Safari on my Macbook pro and in the app associated with my organization. Why won't it play in Safari al of a sudden? Can someone advise me on what I could have done to get this error. I build the podcasts in Garageband and share them into iTunes and upload them from my site admin.

I am getting the same icon that you are getting whether I use mobile Safari or iCab Mobile identified as Firefox or even if I identity it as mobile Safari. I wonder if that means perhaps the podcasts was not created correctly. However, I know absolutely nothing about creating a podcast.
You obviously have been doing this successfully up until this point, but by virtue of the fact that I am getting the "No Plugin" icon in both browsers - whether viewing as a desktop browser or a mobile browser, I simply assume that there is a problem with the podcast.
The podcast plays fine in my desktop Safari on my MacBook.
Just so that you know, the preinstalled apps are only updated when the iOS is updated. There are never updates released for Safari, iTunes, the App Store and so on, except for the features that may be added when the iOS is updated.

Thanks HangTime. I didn't move the file from the web page into iTunes. I right clicked and downloaded it to the desktop. Then I dragged it from the desktop into Garage Band, made splits between the songs and the talking, deleted the talking and joined the songs. It worked fine. Thanks again. pdm

Can't view website comments in Safari on iPad or iPhone

On neither of my iPhones nor my iPad can I see website comments sections. They remain blank and the busy icon churns like the website is constantly updating. My wife's two iPhones both show website comments. This happens using Safari and Chrome. My Safari setting are the same as my wife's. I've tried deleting cookies and other website data, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

As I said i've tried this on various WiFi networks with my iPad 3 and on WiFi and cellular on my iPhones 4 and 5: touching the comments button moves the screen to the comments section, but no comments are shown. On that site the comments button is grey before you press it and red afterwards, and it shows the number of comments, but the comments do not appear.
Instead when I press the comments button I get a whirling animated progress icon up beside the WiFi icon suggesting that the device is trying to download something. But the comments never load. (In previous versions of iOS and Safari there would be three lines in the comments area rapidly animated to show that someting was forthcoming, but the comments would never load.) As long as I stay on that webpage the animation continues, suggesting that the iPad is continually trying to access the comments data but unable to do so.
I've tried it with popups block in the Safari setting and popups allowed, with Javascript activated and not activated, etc. I've deleted all Safari data (cache, cookies, etc). Nothing seems to work.

Can't play YouTube videos on Safari

Hi I can't play YouTube videos on Safari any more. I have noticed that I can play videos on Safari but not on YouTube. When atempting to watch a video on You Tube it won't finish loading. It appears to load at first evenutally stops before the video can play. I then receive the "Plug-in Failure" message.
I am using Safari 5.1.7 on Mac OS X 10.7.4.
I believe I am using the latest version of Abobe Flash Player, which I downloaded when I first noticed the problem.

Hi,
I can't play any podcast on my ipad anymore.
I can download the podcasts and as soon as I click on them the podcast app crashes.
I tried deleting and reinstalling, didin't help.
Anybody any idea?
I also have problems with some podcast like skynews both on the iPhone & ipad. If I subscribe to the podcast, everything episode is grey and I can't download any epsode direclty to the ipad or iPhone. I can download it to iTunes on the Macbook but bot directly in the podcasts app.

I'm still dealing with this issue through Apple. Some time after I posted this, I contacted Apple again. They did start a case up for me, as I was experiencing the same behavior on two different machines, with two different versions of Windows.
So far it remains unsolved. I've logged iClouds for Windows on my desktop, which is brand new, then logged for awhile after completely uninstalling Norton Security Suite, depending on the Microsoft security for some time, and finally logged after I uninstalled iCloud for Windows, restarted, installed a clean download, and connected using a completely different test account, which Apple set up for me. None of this made any difference. Looking at the logs, it seems every 10 minutes, iCloudServices.exe creates a new TCP connection to confirm I'm using less than 5GB on iCloud, (which I am by a good margin, using less than 2GB), it seems this connection is not closed, and when the next iteration rolls around 10 minutes later, a new TCP connection is created. I come very close to having 6 TCP connections created per hour, until I restart my computer. This works out to... 6 x 24 = 144/day.
Perhaps the article you posted will shed some further light on this. I'm thinking seeing the state of the connection through netstats, at the least, could help.
For the last week, I've been putting a hold on further logging, as Apple wants me to create a new user account on one of my computers, install iCloud for Windows there, and log it running in the other account. This however basically means I cannot use my computer for a fair number of hours, and I've been busy enough with work the past week that I haven't the time or energy to afford to set this up and run it. I've had need of my computers too much for the past week.

unfortunately, You cannot get bonjour on ipad. But however, you can get a program on the mac (assuming you have a mac) called printopia (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/printopia/) which will turn your printer in to AirPrint when the mac is on. it works very well all the instructions are on the website

No. iOS apps only operate on Apple's iDevices (iPad, iPhone, etc). They wont operate on other tablets, or Mac or Windows computers. Just like Windows PC games won't work on Mac OS X.

Now it just comes up with a message 'unable to play video.Check your internet connection and try again' There is nothing wrong with my internet connection. I am on wifi and full signal strength. This is happening on both ipad and iphone. It's not the problem where sometimes a video wants Adobe to open it. Thanks for this Griff but it's not the app that isn't responding. I am in the facebook app (on both iPhone and iPad) and the app is working fine but if people post a video I can't look at the video on the iPhone or iPad. i always used to be able to but now it keeps coming up with the message I mentioned above. So I can no longer watch videos from facebook on either my iPad or iPhone. Here is a screen shot of my phone of what is happening. As you can see I have full wifi so there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. The computer will not erase the information. Each device will show up in iTunes as a separate device and you can control the information for each device through iTunes.

No problem, Peter. iBooks Author makes a lot of things much easier than trying to grapple with a standard epub, but it also has some big limitations, like iPad only, and ibookstore only.
EDIT It's not really suitable for something like a novel, for example, although it's great when you need lots of illustrations and movies and such.

I am using safari on my iPad to respond here. What problems are you having? Do you have a good wifi connection? Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go.

Probably not - but that certainly does not involve iPhoto for the Mac - you need to look at Crashplan support for you options
And iCloud is not a place to store photos so that is certainly not a possibility
If you restore your masters folder out of the iPhoto library you will have all of your original photos to do with what you please
