Can't play Cd's in Itunes - COPYGUARDED

I recently bought (2) cd's at a music store alot cheaper than I could Have bought them through Itunes Music Store. Velvet Revolver-Contraband and Foo Fighters-New Double CD(Forget Name, in Car).
Anyway, I imported them into Itunes and synched them to my Ipod not knowing that they had a COPYGUARD on them. I bought and payed for the music and now I can't even put them on my Ipod. WHAT CRAP!!!!!!! I have the 40g model and never carry a CD with me.
Does anybody have a suggestion as to how I can get the musi to play in Itunes or Ipod for that matter?
Thanks

I would use an audio recording/editing program such as Audacity (google it) to record the CD as it plays. Then export the individual tracks as .mp3's. It might be illegal to do this however if you live in the US. If so write your senators etc. and tell them the DMCA stinks.

Yes either the Apple TV or the AirPort Express can do that for you.

  • How can I play mkv files in iTunes?

    Hi All,
How can I play mkv files in iTunes?
What're the limitations of iTunes? I see there are a lot of files that iTunes cant play. Is it true for all?
    Lofty

BUT my iMac does not support my WAVE files
    Sure it does.
File -> Add to library and select the folder where the WAV files are located.

  • IPod says "No Content" in music, and suddenly I can only play that content through iTunes on my computer...

    Can anyone help me?
I have been having terrible problems with my i-Pod Touch. I have very slow internet (often only 2 or 3 kb per second) but Apple seems to demand I do countless time-consuming updates. For this reason I haven't been able to update my iPod to iOS5........I have also had the whole run of errors when I connect my iPod to iTunes to update anything. I have had Error 13109, 5826, 1604 and 3194....but all of that hasn't bothered me too much as I manage to transfer music from CDs or computer files (podcasts from non-iTunes sources) and that's all I need.
All of a sudden yesterday, whilst continually giving me the error 13109 message, my iPod said I have no content in the music library. However, when I plug in the iPod to my computer and switch on iTunes I can see those songs are still there, and indeed I can play them. Until this morning I was able to play that content from my iPod through my loudspeakers that have an iPod dock - completely unconnected to my computer.
It just means that I can't play those songs when I am anywhere except connected to my computer - and that's not really the point of having an iPod is it?
Is anyone able to help me?
By the way, I should like to say that I am very new to i-Pods, and I already think it is absurd that a customer should be constantly obliged to update everything, and when things go wrong visit all manner of websites (and Apple Support Communities!) to hunt for solutions, and then spend hours and hours going into the belly of my computer, making changes, downloaded, syncing, re-booting and goodness knows what else to just try to get the product to do what the manufacturer said it would do when I bought it, without telling me anything about all this other hassle. I think it is shocking, or have I just been sold the only lemon in the orchard? I bought it in Mozambique and live in Zimbabwe - and none of these places offer support services.
tks for nay advice or commiseration you may be able to offer.........
    Nick (aged 50, and ignorant).

OK guys...no need to reply....I am resigned to never getting to the bottom of the syncing problem....I just go from 13109 to other error codes, downloading little umbrellas, putting th eipod in DWI mode (or something like that), restoring, getting anew error code, not being able to download updates etc. etc. - so I lost my patience with sitting in front of my computer trying to fix something I paid nearly usd 800 for (in my opinion the manufacturer should make it properly in the first place, or warn you about its faults before you buy)............
I synced my iPod to the computer, lost all my content ans restored only witrh what I had on this computer's iTunes - thus losing the countless CDs and vinyl I had converted to digital on my other ocmputer at home in Mozambique, which my current iTunes says it can't locate.
Am I really the only person who prefers to listen to music instead of spending hours and hours on the computer trying to fix this useless machne?
I wish I had never wasted my money on this thing. I guess it's just inappropriate and too sophisticated for where I live and for my simple needs (wi-fi and music only).
Very big thumbs down from this novice for the iPod Touch and for the iTunes way of doing things in general.......

  • How can I play the songs in iTunes on my Android phone?

I am a new comer to iTunes.  I just purchased a couple of songs from iTunes and it plays correctly on my iMac and iPad.  I have following questions and seeking the answers.
    1.  Are the songs sited on iTunes server and streaming when I play the song?  It requires internet connection to play the songs.  Can I download the songs onto my device to avoid internet connection.
    2.  Can I play the songs on my Android phone?
    3.  I have some songs on my iMac and appears in the iTunes.  How can I sync with my iPad (currently not appear in the iTunes of my iPad)?
    Thanks!

i guess the existance of an app means that itunes for the iphone cannot alphabatize itself.  that seems a little odd, given the new updates.  do you use this app?  i've gotten used to the functionality of the standard music app, and am curious how this one compares in terms of usage.
thank you for the link wjosten.

  • Can you play an iPhone through iTunes?

I can see all my music on my iPhone when I plug it into my Mac at work - running iTunes - but I cannot play any of the music it as it's grayed out?
Is there something I need to do to be able to play it - can I do that? -use iTunes to play my iPhone through my Mac on my desk at work?
Both iTunes accounts are authorized to buy and play music with my one apple account name.
    Thanks for any input.

Go to the summary tab of your iPod in iTunes. There should be an option to Manually Manage Music and Video, or something to that effect. Make sure that's checked. That may do it.

  • I emptied trash with itunes in it accidentally and now can't play any songs on itunes what can i do?

so i needed to clear disk space so i could use imovie more, so i put a load of stuff in trash and emptied it, but somehow i stupidly put itunes there too, so now when on itunes i can't play any songs because it keeps asking me to "Locate" it, which i can't do because it doesn't exist anymore arrrggh! i can't use any of my songs on imovie either, it's very frustrating. If there is any way at all that i could recover the songs so i could play them on itunes then that would be great-
    thanks,
    Hamish

    Hi,
If you don't have a back up, you have lost your music.
If you have iTunes Store purchases, you can go into iTunes Store and redownload previous purchases.

  • I can't play my movies from iTunes when i connect to my HDTV.

I'm having trouble viewing my video from iTunes on my hdtv. I have a 2013 MBP 13" retina display runing OS X Mavericks. i recently bought an hdmi cable so i can hook up my MBP to my HDTV and watch my videos from iTunes. But when i open my itunes and try to play a video is just shows the play and its black. no maker how much i press play it doesnt show on the tv. i disconnect the cable and it show on my mbp. but once again when i plug in the hdmi is goes black again. can anyone help me play my movies to my hdtv.

What happens if you click play and start the movie and THEN plugin the HDMI cable?
I am not 100% but pretty sure this is intentionally being blocked by iTuens as a DRM restriction by copyright holders.  Windows media player does the same thing.  You can not play movies or other potentially copyrighted content though the video out (HDMI in this case) port on the computer.
This is a legal restriction Apple is under.  Not something they do by choice.  One simple way around it would be to by an AppleTV.  They are $100 and let you play your iTunes, iPhoto, etc. content on your TV.  It would also be much more convent since it is meant for this and would let you control the content via remote control.

  • Can't play bounced file in iTunes

I've googled this issue and haven't been able to find a straight answer or solution. I can't play my bounced Logic Pro music file in iTunes. I bounced it as a .wav and also as .aiff...but to no avail. I'm able to play the file in my VLC player, but can't play it in iTunes. That, coupled with all the other bugs in Logic Pro, is extremely frustrating.
Is it culprit Logic, or iTunes? From what I understand iTunes still supports .wav & .aiff files so I shouldn't have an issue. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you bounce at 44.1kHz, 16 bit? AIFF or AAC or MP3 should be fine for iTunes, but sample rate and bit depth is important.

  • Can't play ipod song in itunes

I can see, but not play, any of the CD-originated songs that are in my ipod from the itunes client.
I got a new laptop for Christmas (Toshiba with newest ITunes client 7.5)
I have a one year old ipod nano with songs in two categories:
    1. purchased off of itunes.
    2. ripped out of CDs.
I authorized the new computer to play itunes purchases, but I can't play the songs that are in my ipod that originated on a CD.

*I am unable to copy/move these songs into the music library of itunes (i.e. given a song is in the ipod (originally ripped off a CD source), I cannot get that song into the music library of itunes.*
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Can't play iPod songs in iTunes 7, just Hard Drive Songs

    Hi
I just downloaded the new iTunes 7 but I don't know how to play the songs from the iPod in the iTunes, I mean, the ones that I don't have in my Hard Drive, so far I just can play the songs on the library but not the ones in the iPod.
If I use the iPod alone I don't have problems, but I don't know how to play the iPod through iTunes in this brand new version.
    Thanks in advance.
iPod 60GB Color (No Video)   Windows XP

I have the exact same problem!! Two hours ago I had 1,022 songs on my iPod. I installed itunes 7 and then the new ipod software, and it seemed like I still had all of my songs. Then, I went through all of the types of media- videos, music, etc., and told it to sync everything BUT my music; these were in fact the settings that were already in place. Then I asked it to update these changes. The next time I looked over, I had 12 songs. Now, my hard-drive library of Music is still there, so I can put those songs back on my ipod, but the songs I took from my dad's itunes library the last time I was home- like 500 of them- are gone. I put my ipod into disk mode, and there was nothing listed except for some folders of "contacts", etc., no music. What???!!!

  • I can't play one song from iTunes album, always asks me to reauthorize

For some reason my iTunes asked me to reauthorize and I remembered my account and password, but I still can't play one Tom Waits song. I bought the whole album on iTunes but one song I click on it to play and it asks me to reauthrize I do and it won't play. I can reauthorize a half dozen times and it won't play, it'll play the other songs on the album but not this one.
    Any ideas?

  • Can't play certian songs with iTunes

I am making the switch to iTunes from Windows Media. I have imported my music folder into iTunes but there are several songs that have an "!" mark to the left of the Title. When I click on the song to play, I get the message that "The song "Title" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?". I click "Locate" and point iTunes to the file, the "!" will go away but when I click on the song nothing happens. The window on the top of the iTunes page will show the title and the length of the track but it won't play. When I right click the song and click "Show in windows explorer" it will show the folder the song is in and I can play the song via Windows Media Player so I know the file works but it won't play in iTunes. Can anyone give some advice on how to solve this problem or what might be causing the problem? Thanks.

First, make sure it is a valid MP3 and plays OK in WMP.
Then, find the file in Windows. Right-click it and choose Open With > iTunes.
If the file is OK, iTunes will start playing it. If iTunes finds the file to be incompatible, it will "error silently," i.e. do nothing. In that case, try treating the file with a 3rd party tag cleanup program such as MP3 Validator.
