Can't Play Lan Games With MSI K8N

Hi. Went down my mates for a bit of lannage only last time i went down their with my PC. I was using a Asus K8V-SE with no problems and win 2k . Now with the MSI K8N-Neo and XP it says we have a connection in windows and if we unplug it says the connection is unplugged so we know that it is working but I make a LAN game on any game and he cannot see it at all to connect. Drivers for everything on my PC are up to date including latest nforce and his PC is still the same (nforce 2/2500-M) yet he cannot see my game to connect. Fire-wall is also turned off in network manager. Theres a option though which is blank that says "current ethernet adress" do i have to fill this in so he can see my game?

i had a similar problem with internet games for freelancer, it would time out. I found out that some games don't like 2 tcp/ip adapters, and since in windows the IEEE1394 can be used as a tcp/ip adapter you could to 1 of two things.
1. Disable the Firewire Connection
2. Bridge the Ethernet and Firewire connections
now i'm not saying this will fix your problem but it's worth a shot isn't it.

Hi,
I am interested in getting the MSI VOX USB 2.0 External TV Box and I am just wondering if I can play video games such as Playstation 2 with my laptop using this tv tuner. I heard some tv tuners have the "delay" make them useless to play video games. Does MSI VOX USB have this "dealy", and how is the the picture quality while playing video game with this tv tuner?

I dont really understand the VoxBox but I've just inadvertadly managed to put the PS2 on my laptop by plugging the video/audio cables into the converter and then into a USB port, and although it did work, and there wasnt a delay or anything, the quality was poor compared to a TV and also it flickered a bit so I'm not sure it would work that well- but that may have just been my computer playing up. Definitely possible though. Sorry I cant offer much more advice!

Can't play some games with 7.0.4 - can't play videos without it!

My son has been having troubles playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on his powerbook for awhile now - it would crash on opening. We experimented last night, and discovered on the game site that they recommended not using Quicktime 7.0.4 for this issue. We downgraded to 7.0.1, and the problem is fixed. Now, however, he can't play the videos he has downloaded from the iTunes site without 7.0.4! Any suggestions or workarounds?

I'm currently playing RTC3 with QT 7.0.4. To prevent a crash when you start a new level wait a short while--about 30 seconds--before doing anything. I fought this same problem for a while, and was on the verge of returning the game after power cycling four times to recover from the crashes.
Since I've started waiting a bit, I haven't had a single lockup when entering a level. The key to the game is patience, it seems, though that's hard to manage sometimes.

I take it you tried using the "right click" menu? That doesn't seem to work, as you noted, but, you should be able to paste text by pressing your CTRL key and while holding it down, press the "V" letter key.
CTRL + C = COPY
CTRL + X = CUT
CTRL + V = PASTE

Upgrading to firefox 5 and updating my plug-ins helped a bit. Frog is less 'sticky' now, but it's not solved the problem. Java needs to be up to speed or the frog goes into stasis....

Is my speaker system compatible with MSI K8N SLI Diamond?

Can I use my old speaker system with MSI K8N SLI Diamond. My speaker system is Creative Inspire 5.1 5500D Digital with decoder. Now 5.1 sound doesn't work properly. When I try look movie with PowerDVD6, center speaker is dead and no speech on movie. On PowerDVD6, SPDIF output is selected and tried also 6.1 channel options but no, speech will not play at center speaker. Some games too 5.1 surround doesn't work. I have connected my speaker system on motherboard coaxial SPDIF to speaker systems Decoder coaxial SPDIF, and speakers on that decoder. Do I have to buy new analog speaker system to get 5.1 surround working? If I connect my speaker system directly on MB analog outputs, sound balance in very bad, rear and front speaker is good but center speaker crackling and speech at center speaker sound like volume level is much too high.

I can't play some games I used to be able to

My laptop is running very slow compared to what it used to run when I first got it. I also can no longer play a game that I used to play all the time. I didn't use my laptop for a while and started using a desktop, but now that I no longer have access to the desktop I have to use my laptop again. Since I started using it again it runs very slow and I can't play games on it very well. I have even tried deleting a lot of files on my computer, doing a disk clean up and defragment, shuting it down, restarting it, and nothing seems to help. I know I should be able to play most games with my laptop, but can't seem to play any now.

If you have done everything you can think of and the computer is just not performing like you think it should, then there may be something running on the system that should not be there. Maybe a program is "stuck in a loop" and stealing resources from the rest of the programs that need to run and it is making everything run slower.
Stuck programs tend to show themselves in different ways -- if a program is stealing too much cpu time, then it climbs to the top of the list of running programs and shows itself as grabbing most of the available CPU resource. Other programs languish and the whole computer slows down to a crawl -- nothing gets done and it is obvious that something is "just wrong".

Note that with this cable, you can output videos and photo slideshows, but not games, etc. - it doesn't show everything on the screen, only outputs videos and photo slideshows.

You can't play iOS games on desktop computers - there aren't iOS simulators for casual people.
Nevertheless, some games (Chopter 2, Angry Birds etc.) have a desktop (OS X) version of the same game. Some can even play multiplayer with the iOS version. They, generally, aren't very pricey either.

Hi , yes unfortunately it's true !
Sata ports 3/4 is the fully nforce3 native chipset integrated (uses nvidia integrated PHY).
Use only theese if overclocking .
Satallink clock will be retained at 100mhz always .
Sata ports 1/2 are bridged from the nvidia chipset to an external marvell PHY .
Theese ones can not be used with HTT ref clock beyond ~230mhz +/- a few mhz without producing data corruption .
Satalink ref clock of 100mhz will scale upwards with increased HTT .
This issue applies to all nforce3 250GB/Ultra based motherboards with more than 2 sata ports regardless which vendor/make/model.
It's the chosen hw design that is the issue and no bios ever will fix it .
If you must have 4 sata drives , do like me and install a pci SIL sata controller card for the drives used for storage .
Take Abit NF8 (nf3) as an example .It has only 2 sata ports .
Why ?
Only the true/fully chipset integrated sata ports is used .
Although the nforce3 chipset supports a sata link to an external PHY for port 3 and upwards some has chosen to not utilize it .
Nforce 4 chipset has corrected this hw design by adding more sataport by the link to external phy .
In nf4 four ports are fully/true chipset integrated , and does not suffer from this overclock barrier .
