Can't Play Shared ITunes Files On Ipod Only

Ok, I've looked at all the shared files posts, but couldn't find this scenario. I've also looked at the how-to shared threads.
My fiance and I are running two Ipods (one 30G Video and a 4G Mini) on one PC w/ Win XP under 2 different profiles and two different ITunes Accts. I've enabled sharing under both profiles.
Our music is not in the shared folder and we can add files to each others ITunes Manually, and that is fine. (we didn't want them together)
She can add actual ACC files that I downloaded from ITunes and play them on her Ipod, no problem.
BUT, i can add her song to my playlist and can play those ACC files fine through ITunes, but they just won't play on my Ipod, any ideas? It just skips over them... I don't even get a message for authorization...
Anything else I download from her ITunes playlist (like cd, mp3 and limewire files) all work fine and play on my Ipod, just not the ITunes files she downloaded and purchased...
Any ideas, this is driving me nuts...
PC   Windows XP

Try deauthorizing both of the accounts (from the Store menu in iTunes). Then Restore the iPod, and re-authorize both accounts in iTunes. Then make sure you can play songs from both accounts in iTunes, hook up the iPod and sync them over.

i can't play my itunes music it shows me ! this sinbol and says the file couln't be find

This happens if the files are no longer where iTunes expects to find them. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the files, or that the drive they live on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
If the files are nowhere to be found on your computer, but exist on a device, see  Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
While deleting & reimporting works when the media can be found the process will delete user playlists, ratings, play counts, date added information and any other metadata not stored in tags.

  • ITunes refuses to play shared .ogg files

I have the xiph codec thing installed for playing ogg files. Ogg files play fine if the files are stored locally on the mac. However, if I try to play the same files when they are stored on another computer on the network, it refuses to play them. Why?
Nearly all my music files are ogg vorbis. I have only one imac running OS X 10.4.
All my other computers are linux based and share their music through Rhythmbox's DAAP music sharing function.
itunes has no problem playing regular mp3 files from shared sources. Only has a problem playing shared ogg files.

I have ogg files stored locally (on a PC) and iTunes won't play them, no idea why.

How can I play my itunes music files on my internet radio? Is there an App for iPad or iMac?

Thanks for the suggestion. I subsequently realized that my Airplay settings on ITunes are ok. The problem is with the settings on Pure Music. I still havent figured this out. When i stream using just ITunes, it works fine, but when I play music using ITunes / Pure Magic, I still have an issue with Apple TV.

  • How can I play MPEG-4 files in Premier Elements?  It plays in iTunes but I only see video in Element

how can I play MPEG-4 files in Premier Elements?  It plays in iTunes but I only see video in Elements

    LGSh
Lots of questions, lots of answers needed as mentioned by Hunt. But please include what version of Premiere Elements that you are using when you reply.
How are you importing these file into your Premiere Elements project?
After you drag your file to the Timeline, do you see both an video and audio component (on Video 1/Audio 1) or is there nothing on the Audio 1 track? If you can see a wave form or file on Audio 1, have you checked all the program's volume settings including Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware and the ASIO settings?
    More later.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything written.
    Thank you.

  • HT204406 iTunes Match - can't play because original file can't be found

Hi, I've uploaded 600+ tracks to iTunes Match and since deleted the original files from my computer - when I go to play them 'via the cloud' only a handful of songs will play, the rest say 'can't play because original file can't be found!
I assumed the purpose of iTunes Match was to create a copy of all your tracks so you could access them from anywhere.
    Hoping someone can help/offer advice?
    Cheers, Lee.

  • Can I play home video on my ipod touch?

Can I play home video on my ipod touch?

So, the only way to watch home video in ipod touch is via itunes? Because in fact i'm trying to use my ipod touch as a video monitor for my DSLR camera while i use it for filming. I thought i could use the hdmi adapter for ipod touch, but everyone tells me that it might not be possible, so i wont buy it without knowing if it is possible or not. I wonder if it is phisicaly possible, so all we would need for that is someone to develop a softare to use the hdmi adapter to watch a video into an ipod. I say this because my camera has a hdmi video out, but it could be with simple RCA cables too. Someone think it is possible?

  • Can we have two itunes files

My wife and I have an Ipod each but share a PC. Can we have separate itunes files with one ipod synchronised to each. Can I duplicate the current file so each of us can delete the music which only one of us likes.
A blow-by blow explanation please as I am not very familiar with all this.
    Thanks

Why not just make playlists, then each of you can choose only the playlists you like.

  • I keep getting exclamation marks on my playlist on itunes, but this is only for the songs downloaded on my phone. I can't play any songs on my phone, only on the original itunes library. Whats going on??

but this is only for the songs downloaded on my phone. I can't play any songs on my phone, only on the original itunes library. Whats going on??

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not inlcuded synced media like apps and music. Thes those iTunes are not restored to the iPod unless they are in the iTunes library.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Can I copy my iTunes files and folders to Time Capsule wirelessly from my PC?

Can I copy my iTunes files and folders to Time Capsule wirelessly from my PC? I was wondering since my iTunes files and folders are connected to iTunes.

You can but the TC is the worst possible location. The design is slow to start and quick to stop data connections.. that will cause trouble.
    Moving folders has specific instructions.

Move it to an external hard disk fine.. but be very sure you will not be happy with the TC as a location.

  • Can i play my itunes library which is on my mac on another device, windows pc?

Can i play my itunes library, which is stored om my macbook pro, on another device, asus notebook?

I guess I misunderstood you then. If you downloaded the music to the iPad, you do not need an internet connection to play the songs. You use the Music App to play your songs.
I don't know much about iTunes Match and if that is what you are relying on, you do have to download the songs from the internet/Apple's servers first.
You can simply sync the music from the PC using iTunes, assuming that the music is in your iTunes library. This explains how to sync.

If you are running iTunes 11 on the PC - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu.

  • Can't Play VCD *.DAT files in QT 6.5.3

I can't play vcd *.dat files in QT 6.5.3 (OSX 10.2.8) But i can play them using QT 6.0.2 in OS9.2.2 What do i need to do to play them in OSX using QT 6.5.3? Thx for the help...Dave
Mac G4 AGP, PB G3 Bronze, PPC G3 Biege   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Yes, tried that.... QuickTime/open movie/go to vcd/MPEGAV/AVSEQ01.DAT/choose....I then get error message 'Couldn't open file AVSEQ01.DAT because there was an input/output error' So then i tried oening from the desktop.
Is this a commercial VCD or a Toast burn? Asking because I know mine was made by Toast back in OS 9 when the MPEG-1 extension was included with Toast. If so, am wondering if you have an OS X compatible version of Toast installed. I have the latest version of Toast installed and was thinking it might include some component that is allowing me to open the AVSEQ01.DAT file without error. (I get the error when I attempt to open via the OS 9 VCD script in the CDI folder since I no longer have access to "Classic" mode.)
VCD/MPEGAV/AVSEQ01.DAT/double click...I then get error message...'Chinese Input Method Plug-in Converter' Open file error.
Chinese Input Method Plug-In Converter appears to convert input text to Chinese "graphic equivalents" contained in .DAT extension files. (Plug-in probably works as some sort of a text-to-graphic buffer.) It may simply be selecting this as an "application/utility of opportunity" here and generates an error when it reaches the end of the "look-up table" without finding a valid match.
In any case, I take it your VCD does not contain a QT reference movie (.MOV) that points to the AVSEQ01.DAT file as the movie resource.

My QuickTime player us not playing .avi files and says I need a codec I can't play no .avi files on QuickTime. How could I fix this because I want to play these files with QuickTime.

Hmm . . . comes with a Utility MPEG2 Component ML app with no explanation of what it's for?
The utility app is an "assistant PKG installer." It allows Lion and Mountain Lion users to install the older QT MPEG-2 Playback Component installer PKG file which is not allowed to run on its own under Lion or Mountain Lion since these operating systems already have a QT X only MPEG-2 component embedded in the QT embedded structure. Without this utility you would have to either copy the component from an older system to your Lion or Mountain Lion system, use Pacifist for installation, or manually open the PKG contents and transfer the component to the appropriate component folder.
As to your "discussion" regarding the playback of AVI file types, there are really only two strategies here:
    1) You can add component support so that QT can play the files natively or
    2) You can convert the file contents to compression formats that are natively compatible with the unmodified QT component configuration.
Each user should decide for his or her own self which approach best suits their needs for a particular source file. In most cases, conforming the system's codec component configuration to play the source file directly results in higher video quality since no transcoding takes place but this strategy will not work if a codec which is required is not available for the user's operating system. On the other hand, converter utilities tend to support more built-in codecs and are easier to use since the user does not have to concern him or herself with the nature of the particular source compression formats but at the risk of some potential loss in visual quality. As to what converter to use, once again this is a matter of personal choice. In the case of commercial converters like iSkysoft, the codecs are built in while MPEG Streamclip accesses the host operating system's QT codec component configuration. I personally prefer the free HandBrake app for AVI, MKV, TS, MTS, and M2TS conversions since it has an exceptionally full-featured X.264 GUI with some user options that 97% of users are likely to never use.
