Can't podcast for some reason.
I got it working yesterday, but now podcasts don't appear in Library. Even the podcast file is gone. I can click Advanced but the subscribe button is grey and unaccessible.
I think I figured it out.

If you can receive mail and your connection to your ISP is otherwise working, but cannot send mail, then your SMTP settings are incorrect; the SMTP server port is wrong, your SSL setting is wrong, or the username or password credentials don't match what the ISP has, or your attempted accesses are being blocked or your ISP SMTP server is offline.
And in general, don't use port 25 for your outbound mail, unless your ISP specifically requires that; these days, that port is best left to communications between mail servers and (usually) not used by any mail clients. -
I am using a new iMac, 2.8Ghz, 4GB Ram, fully updated Mac OSX 10.5.1. I have a new copy of Lightroom 1.3, as fully updated as it will get.
I can't get Lightroom to stack photos. Why? I select several photos, in either the grid or the filmstrip, then hit command-G. The computer makes a little "bonk" noise, and nothing else happens. If I check the menu bar (Photo > Stacking > Group Into Stack), all the options under the Stacking heading are greyed out. What gives?
It doesn't seem to be affected by what photos I select, or what library I am in. Nothing ever works. Any clues? Hey, I'm in my iTunes and I download a lot and haven't had this problem before but when I went to download a song it started to download and then just stopped and says 'download error. Tap to retry' so I did and every time I try 'unable to download' help?

Apps you purchase from the Mac App Store can only run on the Mac OS X.
Apps purchased from the iTunes store run on iOS based devices such as your iPod.
In other words, you can't run the game for your Mac then copy it to your iPod. Two differenct operating systems. -
Airport Extreme: Can't Print for some reason
While trying to set up my Airport Extreme, and trying to get my computer to print to my printer it's connected to (my computer reads the printer just fine) then it gives me the error message, "An error occurred communicating with the selected base station," when I try to set things up on my Airport Setup Assistant. Please help! Do I HAVE to hook the printer or Airport Extreme up to a computer in order to have it work? Or can it just be plugged into the router, and the printer plugged into the usb jack in the back of the AE? There is one light in the middle of the AE that is lit, and that's about it... I've been producing a podcast for a while now, and just recently had this problem. I've updated the rss feed and loaded new episodes to the podcast, but for some reason the episodes are showing up in the iTunes store when you search for the podcast, but the "Podcasts" app on my iPhone isn't updating, and neither is my subscription to the podcast in my iTunes software.
Can anyone tell me my why the store has my latest episodes, but my subscriptions don't update and add them?That is the correct feed URL.
The title for the episode of 4th February has an ampersand ('&') in it. You can't have an ampersand in an XML file such as a feed because it indicates the start of a code sequence which is never completed, thus rendering the entire feed unreadable in same readers. I'm surprised that the Store is coping with it - evidently the programming recognizes that it's within a tag; the iTunes application, which is a different program, isn't and so is showing no episodes as it can't read the feed.
You need either to replace the ampersand with the code
&
or the word 'and'. -
I am having trouble syncing 2g nano with exsisting podcasts.
The 'regular' subscribed list appears and are uploaded but for some reason they are not syncing to ipod

I own an iPod Classic. In iTunes, some podcast videos cant be played on teh iPod, so I set it to convert the video to the right format for the iPod. It used to work perfectly, but now for some reason, it doesnt convert properly! When I play the video, it is just a white screen, but the sound can be heard. Can anyone help??????
Your source video file is probably muxed.
Neither QT Pro or iTunes has the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.

You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.

For some reason, I cannot change my desktop background no matter how many times I delete the "active" folder. It's as if it's locked. Any ideas how I can fix it?
Yes it sounds like you have a corrupted preference file.
The setting you make in individual programs get saved to a Preference file in your Users/Library/Preferences folder.
All you have to do is drag out the old file to the desktop, reboot and load the program and the preference file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
For your case I beleive the preference file is
com.apple.desktop.plist -
I can't seem to update my apps or make any purchases on from my account. Nothing has changed with my credit card information and for some reason the iTunes Store tells me my information is incorrect. What do I do?
Yes, it's frustrating.
I don't have my iPod with me but, as I recall, the change is done in Settings/Store. That change will apply to NEW purchases. However, be aware that all purchases are permanently associated with the Apple ID that was originally used. Generally, it's only a problem when you need to update an app. IF you do your updating from iTunes and your logged in to the "wrong" ID, you'll need to log out and back in again. It's easier from the iPod as you do not need to log out/in but you do need to know the password.
Unfortunately, you can not merge IDs nor can you transfer purchases from one ID to another. Go here to find out exactly what you have. I have the same problem so I deliberately made both passwords identical to make things slightly easier for me. -

I figured it out. Copy the picture from where you have it stored on your computer, and paste into the text line of the iMessage. Simple!

For some reason this stopped working on firefox a week or so ago. I have tried to uninstall and install firefox again but the problem still persists. I've tried both chrome and explorer and they don't seem to have this problem.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. Went through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights. This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. Connection Doctor continues to show all green lights, but am still unable to download mail to the inbox. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.
