Can't post comments to pages

When anybody (including myself) tries to leave a comment, an error message simply says "Sorry. We are unable to process your request at this time." Is this a Mobileme thing again?

I don't understand why this worked, but it did. Through Apple support, I was instructed to disable the Ariel font in my applications folder. I had to erase all the comments (that were in Ariel) and retype them into the blog (I couldn't copy and paste for some reason). I made sure the ADD COMMENTS line was at the end of the blog, and made sure the box was checked in the inspector function. I then saved all the retyped comments (in a different font) and deleted the original Ariel font comments, published to mobileme, and the post comments function now works. Here are the instructions I followed:
Symptoms
The iWeb 1.1 update adds comment support for blogs and podcasts (MobileMe published sites only). Depending on which font and templates you use, the "Add Comment" link may not function correctly in your published blog entries.
If you experience this issue, instead of an Add Comments link at the bottom of your blog entry, you may see a non-functional link that reads @post or @comment.
Products Affected
iLife, .Mac/iWeb website hosting, MobileMe
Resolution
Update to iWeb 1.1.1 or later and republish any pages which use Arial fonts. If you're not able to update immediately, you can use the following steps:
Open Font Book, located in your Applications folder.
Disable the Arial Family of fonts in your User collection. For more info see Turning off fonts.
In iWeb, create a new blog or podcast to replace the old one.
If you have content in the old blog that you wish to keep, cut and paste it into new entries in the new blog or podcast.
Delete the old blog or podcast from the Site Organizer.
Publish your site.
If you do not create new blogs after disabling the fonts in your user collection, you may see "Missing Font" error messages when you open iWeb.
Note: Mac OS X installs fonts in /Library/Fonts, including Arial fonts. Some software packages install fonts on your computer when you install or first launch an application. Those fonts will typically be installed in ~/Library/Fonts.

  • How can you post comments during signal aquisition?

How can you post comments during signal aquisition? For example, while acquiring your signal, you want to post a comment which the temperature reads at "30 seconds" from your relative start time (t=34 sec into recording)
I have the LE package where events, alarms, etc cannot be used. Are there other ways that the user can mark an "event" during recording?

    Hey hkim,
If you know how long it will be before you want a message to pop up you can simply include a sequence structure and in the first sequence have a wait time of your desired length and have the message pop up and display in the second sequence frame.

  • Can not post comment to a comment at FB

When I use iPad ( I bought about 2  months age)as my machine to open Face Book and I can do most of the normal functions as my iphone, but I can write comment to friends' comment but can not post. I can have my "status", "photo" only can not post comment, Why and how to make it work?

    Thanks for the info.
Firstly, make sure you are not using the split keyboard. There is a bug in the app which disables the send button. Make sure it is the full keyboard you are using. (Pinch the split keyboard to rejoin it).
If you still have no luck, then use the website, or an alternative app. They are generally better than Facebook's own offering.
Let me know if this works, or if you have any other issues,
    Nathan

  • Can't post comments to Blog site

Since .Mac switched to Me.com, I cannot see comments on my blog site.
I can post/publish to the site from iWeb and others have said they can post comments (using Firefox, but not Safari). But when I go to view the comments, I get an error message:
    # Exception: TypeError
    # Message : Value undefined (result of expression postLinks.forEach) is not object.
    # File : Comments.js, Line:138
I have not done anything differently in how I'm publishing the page.
I am using Safari 3.1.2 to view the site.
I am using iWeb '08 2.0.4 to publish the site.
I have also tried to use Firefox (3.0.1) to see the comments, and get this error message:
    # Exception: TypeError
    # Message : postLinks.forEach is not a function
I can see the comments if I open iWeb and read down the page. I cannot post comments using iWeb though.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Devon
In general, based on the odd problems cropping up, corruption may exist on your HD.
To check, open Disk Utility in your Applications>Utilities folder. Highlight your HD on the left, then in the First-Aid panel select "verify disk".
Let me know if any errors appear.

  • Can't post comments to Blog after MobileMe push

My blog will not allow anyone to post comments now, since the MobileMe migration. When you click "add comment" it brings up the MobileMe migration page with info on MobileMe. I believe that I have set up everything necessary on my computer for MobileMe, so how do I get the blog to quit directing to this page? I have two autistic children, and I use this blog for their therapists to post comments about their daily therapy sessions - I really need to get this fixed QUICK! Also, when publishing the blog, I get an error message at the very end - "error publishing" - but everything is visible like it published successfully. Thanks for any help.

It is not just the Blogs, my Photos pages won't allow comments either. I just started with iWeb a couple of weeks ago and it took me a while to discover that the comments feature was not working. Made me feel kind of foolish, I had asked some friends to check out my site and then was a little perturbed that they hadn't posted any comments.
I would hate to try setting up on another site as I like the basic simplicity of iWeb.
Does anybody know of anything else as easy to use? I'm in the trial period and if this doesn't get fixed I definitely will not be continuing.

  • How can I view comments in pages

I have a document with many saved comments.  After shutting down my computer and restarting, I can no longer view comments.  I would like to view them and print them on not just this document, but may others.  Does Apple realize that this is a problem.  When will it be resolved or is there a resolution that I am unaware.

Thank you!  I just checked, and I saw that on another document it does show the comments. Thank goodness.  I shut down my current document and found an older document of the same name dated yesterday afternoon, and it does show the comments.  Thank goodness.  The document I've been using since the shut down opened automatically when I restarted, and I've been using it and have made a lot of changes.  Now I'll see if I can figure out what's going on with that.
    Thank you for your help!

  • Suddenly unable to post comments on iWeb blog - image verification error

People suddenly can't post comments to my blog page (web.me.com/stannerory). I've tried this myself, and posting continuously fails at the image verification process, one receives an error message that says the letters entered don't match the image, yet they do. Someone suggested that cutting the comment, closing, reopening, and pasting, and doing the process a second time would work, but I haven't found this to be successful either. Is there some kind of a workaround? Anyone else having this issue?

    OT -
    Thanks for your efforts.
It seems to be intermittent now, which is an improvement. I still can't add or remove a comment without fail. It's some consolation that it might be a server issue, but if it were, wouldn't there be all kinds of unhappy Apple users complaining about the issue, AND wouldn't the mobileMe website have some kind of problem indicator light flashing? Of course it would.

  • Since the most recent Firefox updates, I am having trouble with certain features on The New York Times website; I can no longer see certain weblog comments, or post comments, etc.

This question is admittedly a little complicated. The New York Times website has a number of weblog pages which include brief stories followed by space for readers to leave comments. You probably need to be a Times On-Line subscriber to really see what I'm talking about, but some examples would be this City Room blog: http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/02/bloomberg-cancels-radio-talk-amid-furor-over-aides-resignation/ or this Arts Beat blog: http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/01/theater-talkback-remembering-jerry-leiber-a-reluctant-pioneer-of-the-jukebox-musical/
Since the most recent Firefox updates, when I view these pages, which traditionally have a number of reader comments at the bottom of the Times' story (or at least a space to leave a comment), I can no longer see the comments. There's simply empty. blank space. I know that the comments are there; if I open Internet Explorer and log on to the same page, the comments are suddenly visible. I don't understand where this problem has come from. I haven't noticed whether I'm missing seeing anything on other websites yet.
I also cannot post comments on other parts of the Times website; while the pages dedicated to story-specific reader comment seem to load correctly and the space to type my comment does appear, I can't actually submit the comment. Repeated pressing of the "submit" icon has no effect. Once again, this works normally in IE.
For the record, in the past week, I have changed my computer's anti-virus software from McAfee to Norton 360. I run Windows XP. If there's any another information I can provide, please advise, as I vastly prefer running Firefox to IE.

  • I cannot click on 'reply' on a website where you can post comments. I try to reply to someone elses post, it jumps back to the top of the site!

I have 'Yahoo' as my home page, and from there I see articles which I usually like to respond to and make comments. That I can do quite easily, but if I try to post a reply to someone else's comment, the page jumps back to the top and the 'reply' option does not open for me to post my comment. This does not happen all the time, but it is happening quite often now. I have RESET my Firefox browser thinking that was the problem, but it still persists.
    Thank you for your help.

The first thing you can try is to clear the cache and cookies.
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

  • Add comment error - can't post entries to blog

I helped my daughter create a website with a blog page for a school project. I've used the iWeb inspector to allow comments and images. It worked during an early publish to but the add comment no longer works. A box opens now that reads "This entry no longer exists. The entry may have been moved or deleted." Her project is now due for school and the blog won't work. Any help would be appreciated. I am posting via .Mac.

The error occurs when accessing the site via the web. Site access is fine and all pages but the blog work. I haven't been doing the captial W, but I would think that would just keep me from finding the site - I'll try it though. On the post-publish comment, I've certainly updated the site as it was built. So if I change the website at all and re-publish, it disables commenting? Can I get commenting back or do I have to build the site from scratch? Thanks.

  • I am unable to post comments to links on Facebook. This is a recent problem. I can do it with Internet Explorer

All of a sudden, I can no longer post comments on Facebook. I get a dialogue box and type my comments. But when I hit enter, nothing happens. I opened Internet Explorer and the feature works properly. I have, in the past, been able to post on Firefox.

  • I cannot post comments on YouTube with Firefox anymore, but can on IE. Intermitant problem, some videos I can post to.

The comment box is grayed out on many, but not all videos. The problem is only on FireFox; I can go to the same videos on IE and have no problem posting comments. I have Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1, 64 bit. The problem is new, has been working properly till a few days ago. I refreshed Firefox to default settings, been through Youtube help menus, and Firefox help.

I tried restarting Firefox in Safe mode and then went and commented on a video and whalla it actually worked.... so then I thaught it must be a plugin problem.
I disabled all my plugins then re-enabled them one after the other until whalla I found the culprit!
The error is in the DownloadHelper 4.9.14 Extension Plugin, hope the Authors of this plugin are reading this, it is causing users commenting and posting errors in Youtube and needs to be patched!
    Hope this helps others!

  • Can it be?!?   Firefox can't post blog comments?!

On a site I have under development, adding comments to a blog entry is smooth as silk in Safari, but efforts to enter a comment from Firefox (v. 2.0.0.4) produce only the following error message in the window in which one can ordinarily post a comment:
"We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request."
    Any suggestions appreciated!
(this is a draft site for a research project; if anyone wants to try it, site is at web.mac.com/mamattaini/iweb/UICViolence, username and password are both "UICViolence". Material, tho draft, should be regarded as proprietary; graphics are just placeholders for now.)

    MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I ran across this same problem in almost every browser for my own site. I tried it both ways on your site with Firefox. The difference between an error and successful commenting was how I entered your website's address.
In the "iweb" section of your address, please note that you have it listed as /iweb/ with a lower case w in iweb.
If you change the "w" to an upper case so that section of the address reads /iWeb/ then the comment button works correctly. This fix for a crazy glitch has worked in every browser I have tried.
Hopefully, that is all that is needed for your dilemma!
