Can't preview on iPad

I updated to sprint 22.
Now when I try and preview on my iPad from InDesign CS5 using the 'Folio Builder' preview button I get the following error message: "An error has occurred while generating folio preview. The Adobe Content Viewer on your device does not support the folio version being previewed. Update the viewer on the device and try previewing again."
I checked in the app store and there have not been any updates to the app since June 22nd. Is one due shortly?

Yes, an update to the ACV is due soon, but you can set the Viewer version to 20 or 21 when you create the folio so it will be compatable until the new version is released.

I think there's still something amiss here.
I have the v25 Folio Producer Tools for CS5.5 and the v25 Folio Builder panel. (I'm on 10.6.8 for reference.)
I also have the latest v25 CV from the App Store, and with my iPad Mini plugged in, and the Content Viewer open, the option to side-load still isn't showing.
I thought it might be because I also had a v24 viewer (custom built) installed, but that's not the case. I uninstalled both of them and just downloaded the v25 viewer from the App Store. The result was the same.

One of the following steps should help.
Go step by step and test.
1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Quit Safari.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Enable Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Web Content: > "Enable Plug-ins".
       or
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow all other plug-ins
3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.
     http://www.youtube.com/html5
    At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box beside
   "You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
4. Reset Safari.
    Click Safari in the menu bar.
    From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
    Uncheck the boxes beside all items.
    Check the box beside "Remove all website data".
    Click "Reset".
5. Turn off Extensions, if any.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions
     Now try YouTube.

Can I return my iPad to previous software update

Sorry, no. Apple does not support downgrading.
You can try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and see if that helps. You can also try to force quit extra apps to free up system resources. Double tap the home button. Flick the previews for any apps you don't need off the page to close them, then single tap the home button to exit the mode.
If that doesn't help you can look into restoring your iPad. I don't have a link handy to the article, but basically it's backing up your data then 'erasing' your iPad back to just the basic operating system. You then restore your data from that backup. Sometimes a fresh start can clear out cobwebs.

Enlarge images on tap from iBooks Author to preview on iPad...

I wonder if anyone can indicate how to output 'all' images to enlarge on tap on preview in iPad?
While some images output correctly on tap on iPad (they get bigger), others don't. Appreciate any ideas.

Thanks much for checking it out! After your response and some additional looking around on our part, we're heading down the "it might be Apple" path - perhaps something that happens on upload from Producer (compression, maybe???).
The reason we're going that way is that we can't really replicate either - without Apple. The upload to the Apple store through Producer seems to be the constant.

Drop shadows visible directly in .iba file in iBooks Author = yes.

Here's the link to one of the books this is happening to. If you have the time/inclination to look, would you please confirm if you can see drop shadows? There should be at least one on every page of the preview.

Preview on iPad Not Showing, Help?

I am struggling to get my iPad to show on preview within Adobe InDesign DPS. I originally thought it was because my iPad wasn't listed as a portable device on my computer, but I finally got it to & I still can't preview.
I am curious if this is because of the recent iOS update? Or if I'm doing something wrong.
I mean I can still update and see the FOLIO's via download through the Adobe Content Viewer App, which is fine. But I am still curious.
Also, I have Windows 8.

Ibook Author can't preview message

Hi,
I have almost finished my book in iBook Author. Today I added short titles to the videos. I've got 50 videos throughout the book. But when I started to Preview the book on iPad IBook Author says it Can't preview. it loaded perfectly fine on iPad till today. This is a screenshot.
After I added the video titles my file jumped up from 170Mb to 225Mb. I know the file is huge but how 50 short lines can expand it to 55 MB.
May the file size be the reason that it doesn't upload the book to iPad? I uploaded for the test the previous versions and it works fine, but not the new file.
Does IBA have a file size limitation to upload it to iPad?
Any ideas?

Issue resolved.
I think it's a file size issue. I managed to reduce the file back to 170 MB and it loads fine now. But the reason of file expansion to 50 MB was that I applied the character style for video labels to make it ALL CAPS via Widget tool. This simple step added 50MB to the file.

Im previewing my ibook on my ipad and also from ibook on my mac yet it create a message "can't preview" also, when im exporting my ibook it create a message "Your book couldn’t be exported. Verify that your destination disk isn’t full and that you have permission to write to it, then try again." yeat i have more than 120 gb available on my mac? please help me.

Are you the only user on your computer? Is your computer part of a network?
Can you advise which template is used and if you have made any changes, also do you know the file size of your book?

Preview on iPad with Windows 7?

I am new to making apps for the iPad and use a Windows 7 pc for most of my actual design work. I wanted to know if it is possible to preview my folio in Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad without a Apple computer?
As of right now, my folio is completed and I am signed in, but the Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad will not locate my folio. I am guessing this is because I am using Windows 7, but would like to be sure.

Thank you for the response, but this is the problem I am having. I have mu folio built in the Folio Builder Panel, but it will not show up on the Content Viewer on the iPad? Why would this be? I am signed in and I checked the troubleshooting tips and I am doing everything right...yet I still can't preview my folio??

Error "Can't Preview"

I'm getting the error "Can't Preview" when I try to preview my book on my mac or iPad. It can't be opened on another mac either. I can preview other books, just not this one. Any ideas? I've tried restarting everything, renaming the file, installing/uninstalling author.

Your book is created using iBooksAuthor and you do not have any problems opening the book for to work on it?
If you used a lot of images.. are they all within the allowed sizes?
Ditto movie or sound files?
Open a new template give it a name and save it. Now run Preview in both iMac and iPad and if that works OK.. then your book file has problems.

Can't preview - the solution is bizarre

As a long-time Mac publishing specialist (more than 20 years) I have to say I'm finding iBooks Author frustrating. I'd like to relate a particular problem I've been wrestling with and have found a workaround for, although it's peculiarity still leaves me scratching my head. Please add your insight.
I had a relatively straightforward document of about 30 pages that I was able to preview on the iPad.
I then began to get the unhelpful error message "Can't preview".
I tried all the usual problem-solving techniques: deleting images in case one was corrupt; selectively removing then restoring chapters; copying into a new document first one half then the other of the chapter that seemed to be the source of the problem. (A public thanks to Fabe for posting his Plain Generic Empty Template -- it helped a lot.) The usual time-consuming troubleshooting.
At last I identified the cause but I still can't believe it.
This textbook has "Reflection activities" -- short snippets I wanted to highlight in the design.
Each has a small heading. I created a paragraph style called "Reflection top" -- bold with a rule above.
Then come a small but variable number of reflections, only the last of which needs a rule below. So I created two styles, one called "Reflection" (no rules), the other called "Reflection bottom". It looks like this:

Reflection
Reflection
Reflection bottom
If I pasted one of these "blocks" into the new document it would not preview. If I either deleted the text styled "Reflection" or restyled those paragraphs into, say, "Body" it would preview. It only previews if in either the source document or the destination document no text uses the style "Reflection".
This is bizarre. There is nothing unusual or complex in the style "Reflection"; it's actually simpler than the two complementary styles. Can anyone offer an insight?
I'm on the verge of saying iBA is too randomly glitchy for it to be trusted for any serious production work. It took me hours to work around something so impenetrably random.

I'm having a nightmare with rules at the moment myself.
I'm doing something very similar, in that I'm adding in text with rules at the start and end, which are created using styles. My problem, however, isnt that it won't preview, but rather the preview doesn't match what I have on screen. When it previews, the immediate look is correct, but it then quicklly changes to incorrect (the rule which should be at the top appears in the middle of the paragraph). The correct version is viewable in the navigation bar, but when this scales up, it is incorrect again.
SVGs seem to be used by Apple in a whole host of odd situations, and the way in which items look different on screen sometimes to how they appear on the iPad seems to support this (and is massively frustrating.)
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Can't preview on Adobe Viewer in iOS 7

Hi,
When I preview a folio on indesign CS6, it can't preview on my ipad 4. (run iOS 7.0.4, DPS version - V28)
After build the folio,it appear a pop up message:
I've check all connections, restart the ipad, reinstall Adobe Content Viewer. But also same problem?
After I try to plug another old device - ipad 1, it works!!!
I don't know why??
Is the Adode Content Viewer not compartable in iOS 7.0.4??

This does not help. I don't see any setting to change gender or anything. I'm only able to change the Language.
