Can't preview or save pdf files with Firefox 5

Ever since I updated to Firefox 5, I've been unable to preview/save pdf documents in websites. One example is the Citibank website.
Is there any plug-in you would recommend? I would prefer if it's a freeware. Thanks.

The files I want to view and save are located on the separate websites of 2 different share registries. I used to be able to do this, but now can't. When I try to "Save As ....." I can't because the files show up as a non-pdf file, a specific example of such a filename is: "PaymentAdvice?Paymentkey=AGKHAINTJUN12,109011151746,1,1". I rang both of the 2 share registries who confirmed that I should not have the problem I am experiencing.
Looking at other threads, some folk have got things to work when the went back to Adobe 9 instead of 10. Any thoughts?

How to save PDF file with predefined name?

Hi,
I am new in LiveCycle Designer. I have a requirement to save a PDF file with predefined file name. When user clicks a "Save as PDF" button, the fillable form is saved with the name from the form fields (e.g. FormID_UserID_Timesstamp...)
I added a button (btnSavePDF) to the form (Control Type=Regular). Then I added an action with the Condition:"When button is clicked" and the Result: "Save the form". I got the JavaScripts it genreated:
CoverPageForm.FormPage.btnSavePDF::click - (JavaScript, client)
app.execMenuItem("SaveAs");
When I tested it in Adobe Acorbat XI, I have option to save it as .pdf or other file formats. My questions is how can I save it with the predefined file name as a .pdf file, instead user has option to change the file name or change the file format? Can app.execMemuItem() method take other parameters?

You can't do it with app.execMenuItem. You can use the doc.saveAs method, but it has to be executed in a privileged context. For your application this means a folder-level JavaScript file that would have to be installed on each user's machine or with code in a certified PDF that the users chooses to trust to allow for privileged JavaScript execution.

All of the sample code shown is for a regular PDF, so you'll have to adjust slightly for using with an XFA.

Can't open pdf files with firefox

After searching for a certain topic on Google I've tried to open the link with a pdf file, but nothing happens.
I receive an error message as if the Proxy that we use here at the company was refusing the connection, but in fact, I've already configured it correctly. This error started after the last update to Firefox 33.0.2.
I've already tried to change the configurations at Options > Applications > Portable Document Format with the option use Adobe Reader (default) and use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox), and also installed an Plugin "PDF Viewer", but nothing solved the problem.
Does anyone has the same problem?

Firefox is of course a web browser. <br>Acrobat reader is Adobe's program used to read and display the pfd files on your computer. Other programs may be used instead of Acrobat reader. You would normally have the Acrobat program and the pdf file present on the local computer, often both on the same hard drive, if you were opening individual pdf files directly with Acrobat.
Firefox uses a plugin so that it may use Acrobat to open pdf files and display the results within a firefox window or tab. If you do not have that plugin installed, or it is not enabled firefox may be unsure what to do with the file and offer to save it to whatever your default local download location is, without attempting to open the file in firefox.

Cannot open pdf files with Firefox's built-in pdf viewer

This just started (I think) with Firefox 37.01. This is on Win7-X64. I cannot open pdf files with the Firefox built-in pdf viewer. If I click on the file or try to open it from within Firefox, it brings up a "opening filename.pdf" message. If I select the "Open with" radio button as 'Firefox (default),' it just keeps looping on this process; it never opens. In Tools => Options => Applications, Portable Document Format (PDF) is indicated as 'Preview in Firefox.' I've never had any other PDF viewer installed on this computer. I've tried disabling all plug-ins and extensions, but it still doesn't work. I searched for solutions but haven't found any for this specific issue.

Help with internet PDF files with Firefox

I recently changed my default PDF reader to Adobe for the snapshot function, and now I can't open up any PDF in Firefox. Help?

Right now most work with FF 3.6 but haven't been updated yet for FF 4.0 just released

I can't seem to upload PDF files through Firefox 5.0

I have not been able to upload a PDF file through Firefox 5.0. This has occurred with two different websites. It appears from the error messages that the file is not being identified as a PDF file, but is labelled something else. DOCX files are uploaded appropriately, but I must use PDF also. Thanks.

I've been using DW CS4 since Dec. 2010 to design and upload the store site with no problems until this past week.
I update the site once a month, during the last couple of weeks I've used DW to design 2 new pages, but this past week when I went to upload the pages I noticed the remote view was different. The remote view did show the 2 new files, including pictures, but not all the other files that I normally see, including the index file.
Plus, there are folders I didn't see before, CGI, DropBox and about 6 others.
On the 2nd pg. of the main site, I put a link to past editions, the URL looks like this... http://www.landmarkantiques.com/July2011.html
I can't think of anything I might have done to cause the change, so I'm at a loss as to why and what might have caused it.
I have DW CS5 that I have not installed, and I'm a little worried about making that transition since this has happened.

Downloading pdf files with firefox 6.0.2 doesn't always work but pdf files do download with IE

for example the home page for the web site kerrville.org has several items to download and most are pdf files using firefox version 6.0.2 the download seems to start but never completes . If I use IE version 8 at the same web site I'm able to download any and all of the pdf files. I have tried this several times and get the same results each time.

I would just get rid of the create PDF 1.1 and go with CutePDF instead. It's a much better program, it's free, and it doesn't create all the issues that the Adobe software does.

Can't print or save PDF files to hard drive after upgrading to Adobe Reader 10.1.3

I upgraded to Adobe Reader 10.1.3 on my Mac with OS X 10.7.3. I can open PDF files on Internet, but can neither print them nor save them to my hard drive.

I had the same problem and stumbled by accident on an odd way how to save the PDF file.
After the PDF file is visible, press the key escape “esc”. A new toolbar above the PDF file will appear. Press the “disc” icon next to the “printer” icon. A window drops down, and now you can save the PDF file in your download folder.

Can't View or save pdf files

Since this morning I can no longer view or save files on the website where I had no probs in the past. When I try to save I get the message "The File is Not valid", so it's not surprising can't view or save. I contacted the site & they tell me all works fine. Why should the file names change such that they can no longer work with Adobe reader?   The only changes are that I received a windows update (I am running Vista Home Basic) and I installed a new printer/scanner/copier (Epson NX130). Any suggestions please?

Can I print to a PDF file with 11.0.03 version?

I don't seem to have a print to PDF file option with 11.0.03 version. I only want to save certian pages and not the entire document therefore using the Save As option doesn't work for me. What can I do?

You can use Extract functionality from Tools Pane to extract or save certain pages.

Why can't I open any pdf files with any version of Adobe Reader after I upgraded?

Upgraded Adobe Reader not too long ago and after then it stopped opening pdf files. I had an old version of Adobe Acrobat and that opened the file no problem. I tried to downgrade Adobe Reader, but that didn't fix the problem.
Just tried to open Adobe Reader by itself without any files and it still crashed.
FYI – I’m using Windows 7 (Microsoft 2013)

It's not a good idea to have both Acrobat and Reader unless they're both of the same version number (like X or XI). Such a situation can cause all kinds of conflicts and crashes, as you've seen. Also, if you have an old version of Acrobat it's might not be compatible with your OS any more.

Why can't I open some Pdf files with Acrobat Beta?

I am using Acrobat.com Beta,and I don't have too many problems with converting to Pdf files, but opening some files that are already Pdf is does not work.I am told to download them ,and afterwards Itry to open them without success.Is there an answer out there?

I'm sorry you're having trouble.Special PDF files such as PDF portfolios or secured PDF files or password protected source files cannot be previewed on Acrobat.com.
Please note that not being able to preview a file should not interfere with the successful viewing of the file once downloaded.
Are you able to open and view PDFs on your desktop? What happens if you try to download the file from Acrobat.com in a different browser?

You don't need an Adobe plug-in to view PDFs in Safari, that functionality is built in. I'm guessing that your Adobe Reader plugin (or some other PDF-related plug-in) is incompatible with ML. Try disabling it. First, open Safari's preferences window and look at the Extensions pane. Is there anything PDF-related there? If so, disable it. Next, look in the following folders:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins/
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins/
(Yes, those are the same except for the tilde. The first one is at the root level of your hard drive, the second is in your user folder. That one is invisible, so hold down the option key and choose Library from the Finder's Go menu to go there.)
If you see anything related to Adobe PDF Viewer or Reader, remove it and restart Safari.

Acrobat 8 Freezes can't no longer save pdf files or do anything else

I can no longer do anything on this application, I've been using this app for months already and I was able to save, save as, print, convert existing PDF as form. Everytime I open a PDF file and create a form from existing document it freezes even if I start from scratch, I can only view files, if I do something else it freezes and have to force to quit. Please help.
The only thing I have not try is unistalling and re-installing the application

Same here Suzie - on my Mac all I'm doing is creating a simple PDF from ID. When I alter it and export as PDF, saving to the desktop to overwrite the previous version it goes through the motions - then up comes this message.
If Bill is assuming correctly that you're on Windows then its a Mac OSX problem too.
Acrobat is dormant here - only ID open.
