Can't Print Adobe files on Canon ir c4080

Ok, so we just upgraded our printer from a Canon ir C3200 to a ir C4080. When using any Adobe programs (basic image 11x17 with lines going to the edge) we can not print on 11x17 paper with "auto tray select" on and a basic change in 'printer setup'. We have to go all the way into the printer options and force the tray selection in order to get Tabloid.
I've had our leasing tech here and we thought we had it fixed, until we opened a new file and then right back to the same old Tabloid sized print on Letter sized paper.
I can provide some screen shots if necessary, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into similar problems?
Tests:
Illustrator (where the initial problem was discovered)
Acrobat (as a test found the same issues of not printing to the desired paper size)
Safari (prints to correct paper size NOT A PROBLEM)
couple of PCs (prints to correct paper size NOT A PROBLEM)
Any thoughts?

Custom Presets are one solution... Maybe I should have phrased my question differently. On the initial "Print" menue that comes up there is a window RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE that is for the "MEDIA" and you have the ability to change those settings, however apparently this is a strictly cosmetic setting because the printer still prints to the default tray. What is the point of an "Auto Tray Select" option if the printer AUTOMATICALLY selects the default tray and completely ignores the user's input as to what paper size he/she wants?
I guess I'm more wondering if Canon just has a bad software interface or if OS X just doesn't play well with it?
Thanks for your input(s)
Jason

  • Can not print Adobe files

Hello, I have adobe 5.1 & 8. I can not get document files to print from either of them. I have tried saving the documents to my desktop, opening the files with adobe, previewing and printing. Although the printer is queued, nothing prints. Please help!

Glad to help. And keep in mind, nobody is born knowing this stuff.
Although the file was probably opened in Preview (which is the default), if you want Adobe Reader to always open pdf files instead of having Preview as the default, you can right click on a pdf file, Get Info, and in the middle of the panel is Open with: Choose Adobe Reader and then a "Change All..." button will appear. Click that and Reader will automatically open when you double click on a pdf file.
There are advantages to staying with Preview, and a few disadvantages too, but that's another story.

  • Can't print pdf files after upgrading to Adobe Reader XI

    Hi,
I can't print pdf files after recently upgrading to Adobe Reader XI.
    Two error messages appear:
1.- Error when starting the application because it couldn't find LXBBGF.DLL. Re-installing the application can solve the problem.
2.- Can not load "LXBBPRP.DLL". Using defaults. Error: 126
I can print other files (word, etc) with the same printer.
    Thank you for your advice

    Hi Pat,
Finally I followed the instructions from another similar discussion on this web site. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore...
I first uninstalled the Adobe Reader XI and then intalled an older version (Adobe Reader X). Now I can print pdf files!!
Thank you anyway for your advice!

  • "Can't Save the File. Can't Print the File" error in Illustrato CS3

I get the error "CAN'T SAVE THE FILE. CAN'T PRINT THE FILE". In Illustrator CS3
According to adobe this is an issue of having more that 28 spot colors, so I went to the swatch palette and pulled the fly-out menu out and told it to remove any unused swatches which took me down to 6 spot colors, but I still get the error when trying to save it to EPS format, which is the format I have to have for the ripping program for the vinyl printer in my sign shop. Saving it in AI format causes no issues.
Is there still something I am missing?
    Thanks
    Roger

I appreciate your comment, I see what your saying.
However...my issue is...I am making a vehicle wrap on a full size van for a radio station and it consist of pictures of a clouds for the background with two pictures of music artist that are associated with the kind of music this station plays, then there is a big round logo of the radio station that involves three spot colors (Purple, white and one of which is technically the black "K" ribbon) along with the web address of the station but it is of the same colors of the radio station logo...then there is the corporate logo that utilizes another spot color (blue)so as you can see I need the spot colors that I'm using.
So just to make sure I'm clear...I can only have 28 different individual colors, even though I have photos involved in the rendering? How can I make that work because photos obviously have more than 28 colors in them. It doesn't make sense because you can do a live trace on something in literally hundreds of colors.
Would it help if I flattened the photo work from photoshop before I move it to Illustrator? The reason I ask is because when I go to save and choose EPS the next save dialogue that comes up...down at the bottom there is two exclamations that one says something about embedding fonts, which I'm not concerned about and the other is something about there is some artwork that needs flattening.
Please bear with me here cause I am definitely a newbie!! My boss threw to the wolves on this adventure and I am learning by reading and trial and error.
    Thanks
    Roger

  • Can't print .pdf files on windows network printer

    Hi,
I cannot print .pdf files on Canon IRC printer with UFR II 2.23 or 2.24 drivers connected through a windows network by LDP protocol, either with Apple Preview or Acrobat Reader - looks like the software doesn't find the printer (I have the rainbow whell and the software does not answer). It can last for hours, there is no other solution than forcing the soft to quit and finding another way to print. I have updated Canon drivers from 2.23 to 2.24 (all supposed to work with Lion) and that does not fix the problem.
This problem does not happen with Ms Word or Safari (or, more generally, other types of files) and it worked fine with Snow Leo even with pdf!! I also have windows XP with Parallels and guess what? I can print through Parallels with Acrobat Reader (for windows XP) on the same printer on which I cannot print with my Mac with Lion and Preview or Acrobat Reader for Mac!
    Please help !!
    Alexis

    Correction
It works with Acrobat but the printer does not like queues of documents...
The site privided me with the topics I fas looking for about this : it's a Canon drivers and Lion permissions problem.

  • Can not print PDF file at all with Windows Vista

I have Acrobat Reader 9.3.2.  I am working off of Windows Vista on my laptop to a network wireless printer (Brother MFC 9440).  I am unable to print pdf files.  About a week ago, we had problems with our printer printing anything.  I had to uninstall it and reinstalled it and it now works fine except the pdf files. I have had no problems printing any other files on any other programs but this one.  I am unsure what specific "updates" I ran while trying to figure out printers issue.  When in Reader, everything seems normal.  When I hit print, the printer box pops up as normal and then I hit ok, my printer icon at bottom pops up for about 5 secs and nothing happens.  I know that I am connected to printer due to all other programs can print.  I do not have access to another printer to see if pdf will print on another printer, but do know that the other two computers used in this office (mac laptop and mac desktop) both are able to print pdf files to this printer without a problem.  I have gone thru all the other help steps to try to resolve the situation:  it still will not print when I hit "print as image", made sure that my printer is marked as network and is default printer, made sure to check that I have all upgrades, etc.  I am not getting any error message, so am unsure what is wrong.  It just will not print.  Is there anyone that could give me some suggestions that I have not tried?  I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!

Another user experience exactly the same issue with vista and printing from Adobe reader.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/642000?tstart=1  Its copied below as a reference.
The problem was on my Auntys PC, and yes i did updated Adobe Reader to v9.3.2 and still the same issue underlned below.
My Aunty lives 70 miles away so will not be trying anything else.
The printer works fine with every other application only Adobe Reader files will print.

  • I can't print PDF files in Yosemite: all I get is blank pages/

I can't print PDF files in Yosemite. All I get is blank pages. ?

There have been problems reported with the latest Adobe Reader update on Mac.<br />
    See [[/questions/925119]]
You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox and use the Adobe Reader program or Preview instead.
*Firefox > Preferences > Applications > Adobe PDF document : Use Adobe Reader
PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.

  • Can't "Print multiple files" or "Print bin files"

I had PSE6 installed on my 'old' PC and never had any problems. Then I had my PC upgraded and now I can't print multiple files from the editor or organiser. The photos appear but have a red circle-like icon in the top-left of the thumbnail.
I can print single photos from the editor. I have updated my printer driver with no change. The printer works fine from other applications.
I know this is possibly not a PSE6 problem, but would appreciate any light that can be shed on fixing this problem.
I am running on XP Pro (was on SP2 before but new system has been installed with SP3)
    Thanks in advance.

    Barbara,
Thanks for replying! I am using a Mac (OS 10.5 and Photoshop Elements 6)
I went to one of Adobe's help pages and tried to follow the instructions below so that I could print multiple photos on one sheet. However, I cannot find any "Organizer" or "Editor Print" dialog box in my Photoshop Elements software. Plus, I do not know what "Photo Browser" or "Date view" are. And the "Remove" button does not seem to be available.
The guide appears to be of no help, and I am currently lost. Are the directions below not for a Mac? Is there a book I should buy for Mac?

    Print multiple photos
You can print multiple photos using the Print dialog box in the Organizer. You can access this dialog box from the Editor Print dialog box.
    1. Do one of the following to open the Print Selected Photos or Print Photos dialog box:
In the Photo Browser or Date view, select one or more photos, and choose File > Print.
In Full Edit, Quick Fix, Guided Edit, or any other workspace mode, open the photos you want to print and choose File > Print Multiple Photos.
    2. To add more photos, click the Add button .
    3. To remove a photo from the print list, select its thumbnail and click the Remove button .
    4. Choose Individual Prints from the Select Type Of Print menu.
    5. Choose a print size for each photo from the Select Print Size And Options menu. Click the forward and back buttons to see each page of the print job.

    Hi,
Which Adobe Service did you purchased?
If you have purchased CreatePDF please visit: https://createpdf.acrobat.com/SignIn.html
Sign in with your Adobe ID and password, and then convert your word doc into PDF.

  • How can i print my files from mi iphone 5 throught the airport express?

How can i print my files from mi iphone 5 throught the airport express?? i have the last iOS version installed and also the last firmware version of the printer. the printer is already connected to the USB airport express and when i look for printers in airprinter there is no printer found. i have an HP LASERJET P1606dn(i think that is supported by the airprinter).

In order to function with AirPrint, a printer must connect to the network wirelessly.
Even if you have an AirPrint compatible printer, iOS devices will not be able to print to the printer when it is connected via USB.
    So, you have two options:
    1) Reconfigure the printer to connect to the network using wireless only and the iOS devices should be able to print that way....assuming that you have up to date drivers for the printer installed.
    2) Leave the printer connected via USB and then use a third party App like Printopia installed on your Mac as a "workaround" to (hopefully) allow the iOS to device to be able to print.  If you want to give this a try, there is a free trial for Printopia, so you will know if it will work before you buy. You must have a Mac running on the network in order for Printopia to function correctly.

  • Orarrp can't print pdf file directly to printer

oracle remote print utility (orarrp) can't print pdf file directly to printer.
we expect orarrp utility can handle ".rrpa" file (i.e. pdf file generated on the application server) by directly print the file to the client's printer, i.e. invoke the acrobat reader on the client side, display the the printer selection dialogue, after confirmation print the pdf file, then the acrobat reader close automatically nicely.
However we are disappointed as the acrobat reader startup and display the pdf file content but does not print and does not close.
After testing the problem several times, there are some findings:-
    Finding (A):-
    (a) for the success of direct printing of pdf file, a physical path must be provided; we have tried 2 methods:
    1) using drag & drop to copy the pdf file directly to the browser
    2) open pdf file in the browser directly using browser menu-->File-->Open.
    (b) for the failure of direct printing, a virtual path is involved and we have also tried 2 methods:
    1) when web.show_document() is used
    2) enter the url to the URL bar of the browser,
    eg. http://appsvr.com:7777/report/test_printout/APPSVR1094707.rrpa (this is a virtual path/url)
    Finding (B):-
(a)when the physical path is used, a temporary pdf file is generated in the same directory where the rrpa file exists in the application server,
e.g. in application server: d:/printout/yyy.pdf is generated for d:/printout/xxx.rrpa when direct print occurs
    (b) however when the virtual path is used, there is no such temp "pdf" file generated and direct print failed.
May be when virtual path is used, orarrp utility don't know where to generate the temp "pdf" so direct print doesn't occur.
So, anyone has similar experience or further queries or has solutions, please join.
    Thanks for your attention.
