Links to files/templates rec'd via Hotmail/Outlook appear fine in Print Preview but the files when printed do not print the data specific to myself eg. Groupon voucher does not show my details, similar for holiday confirmation and flight information. I have an iMAC running OS X version 10.5.8 using Safari 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) interfacing via USB to EPSON STYLUS SX218. When my Hotmail 'moved' to Outlook.com everything printed OK until a few weeks ago - when logging into Hotmail a message from Outlook.com appears requesting I upgrade my web browser, also stating if I don't upgrade 'continue to your inbox. However, Skype calling, chatting in Messenger and instant actions might not work properly'. I have checked, via Software Update on iMAC, for new update software but this shows I am up to date. I know Apple applies software updates automatically, but if so why does my machine display the above version numbers which I believe updates exist for. I suspect my printing problem is software version related but don't know where to start - can anyone please advise?

I conclude that the specific format of the video is not compatible with the iPod. There are many variations of the basic mov. format and not all are compatible with the iPod.

I do not believe that Passbook supports printing. You can email, but not print. Then again I'm not sure what it actually emails, if that is a graphic of the card or what. I'm going to try it with my Starbuck's card, but there is no setting for printing within Passbook.
EDIT: Actually it sends the email as an attachment for a Passbook card file, that cannot be handled by my computer. Hope that answers your question.

Try printing the page as PDF.
From your Safari menu bar click File > Print > Save As PDF then print the PDF file.
If you don't want to do it that way, reset the print system.

I can't print web downloads, specifically pdf files, with Firefox.

I get an error message if I try and look at the page in print preview which says: " Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize. " I can print the same pages in Safari. The only remedy I can see so far is to abandon Firefox for any online transactions and move to Safari.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 4
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 5
Do as in Step 3 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

Why can only print header from outlook mail ok with explorer 8

I have installed both Firefox and Internet explorer 8.
When I try to print emails from Outlook I only get the header.
All is ok if i remove Firefox from the system and use internet explorer. Have just reinstalled firfox and I'm back to the problem again.

I hate to be persistant but I really need some help. Let me tell you what I've done so far.
I've gone to the HP site and downloaded the latest driver for the 1320n series printer and I reinstalled and set up the printer in the print center like I've always done with any of the printers I've set up before. I still can't print from Mail, Safari, and from the system. I see on the HP site that there is a fix in the Tiger system already (I think I'm reading that right) and I shouldn't be worrying about this.
I found in one of the other forum listings about a Foomatic/hpijs and I installed that one. Nothing printed. I tried using a Generic PPD. Nothing happened.
I reinstalled the Xerox Splash printer drivers from the disk and that didn't make a difference.
In the print window, I can't make a PDF, won't let me Preview, and won't let me Print. I click on the buttons and they won't even react. It doesn't do anything. But even with the new drivers I've set up since I started all this, I can still print from Quark and Acrobat Reader. So it seems it's got something to do with the system.
I'm really frustrated here. Can someone please give me a clue if they have one? Anything would be appreciated.

How can I PRINT folders from FCE project files?

Over five years of underwater videography I have accumulated several TB of footage, organized into FCE project files by ocean locale and further sorted by subject matter in "clips" folders in the project files. I use the "log note" field for descriptions, eg scenery, vertebrates, invertebrates, divers.
I understand the product incompatibilities that make my FCE project files unreadable by other software, and I am also beginning to doubt that I can keep my late 2007 MBP running indefinitely. So I want to generate a hard-copy directory to my media drives by printing out the contents of my "clips" folders. While I still can...

Meg, do you happen to know which versions of FCP will import FCE 3.5 projects? Apparently Adobe Premiere Pro will import FCP projects but not FCE - the format needs to be XML, which FCE does not generate.
There's some old FCP software available from 3rd party sellers but I know there are incompatibilities between versions of FCP & FCE of different ages, and would like to avoid them.
If I can make my projects accessible to another editing program, even if it's a lot of work, I'd be happy to leave FCE behind at this point...

This is just my way of printing a Finder window. Perhaps someone else will post with another tip.
You can take a picture of a window using Grab.
Open Grab (located in /Applications/Utilities).
Choose Capture > Window.
When the Window Grab dialog opens, make any changes to the window you want to take a picture of, then click Choose Window.
Click the window you want to capture.
Grab captures the window within a few seconds. A new window appears with the image of the window.
You can save the window anywhere but Desktop is the most convenient. Double click the file you've just saved, it will open in Preview my default. go to File>Save As. A dialog box will appear offering where and which format you would like to save the file. You print that window from Grab or Preview either one.

Printing the Excel sheet is just an ActiveX method call to print the worksheet. To add data to the worksheet, you already have the reference, just call a print method. As for handling large amounts of data, that is a vague question. The data will print how ever you placed it on the worksheet. If what you mean is that you don't want to print out 25 pages every time, the print method has options to only print specific pages or ranges. You may want to play around with a sample spreadsheet to learn the printing options. For help on the ActiveX functions, make sure you have the Visual Basic help installed for Excel.

Unfortunately, there is no feature that provides this functionality. The only option would be to take a screenshot of the history view and then print that.
