Can't Print )@*$ from Mac and CS3 ...

But can print perfect from my PC. Does anybody have even a general idea of what's going on here?
If I print from Corel on my PC all photowork comes out perfect ... if I print from Adobe CS3 Illustrator or InDesign from my mac to the same printer I get all these lines coming through. I don't even know where to begin to fix this.
Any help at all will be appreciated - Thanks in advance -Charlene

I have an Ipad and Iphone but I don't have an Airprint at home but only a WIFI printer, my question is if I connect the wifi printer to Airport express, can I print from Ipad and Iphone ? Please help me if anyone knows about this.

Unfortunately, connecting a non-AirPrint-enabled printer to an AirPort base station's USB port will not make it AirPrint-ready.
You will need to use another solution, like Printopia, to be able to print to this printer from an iOS device.

  • Can't print from Mac to Windows printer

I have a wireless network of 3 computers and a printer. One is a desktop running XP with the printer attached. The other is a laptop with XP. And the last is a MacBook with 10.4.11.
I can print from both computers running XP but I can't print from the Mac. The Mac sees the printer and I can add it and try to print from it. When I try to print I get the error message:
    NTSTATUS_NOMEMORY
I later get the "Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds" message too.

Be sure the printer name assigned in Windows is not more than 11 alphanumeric characters. Long names with punctuation and the like are known to cause problems.

    Tutorial: Resolving common printer problems
Mac OS X offers a robust printing system with built-in support for hundreds of devices from a wide body of manufacturers. It's not without flaws, however, and printers often become unrecognized or non-functional after a significant Mac OS X update. Printers connected through hubs or AirPort base stations can also exhibit some frustrating issues.
Below is a run-down of the most generally successful printer workarounds. Keep trying until one of them sticks.
Use Printer Setup Repair This tool lets you verify properties of the root user, the Printing Services (lp) user, and Print Operators (lp) groups, reset the printing system, perform CUPS maintenance and more. Run through its set of maintenance tasks before delving into further printer troubleshooting. See how to use it in this article.
Re-install CUPS If you are experiencing printer issues after applying an incremental Mac OS X update, problems may have occurred with your CUPS installation during the update process.
The file is available from this Web site: http://www.cups.org/software.php, and is labeled cups-1.2.1.dmg
Delete then re-add printers/Reset printing system Open Printer Setup Utility, located in Applications/Utilities and look at the "Printer List" Highlight and delete all entries.
Alternatively, go to the "Printer Setup Utility" menu at the top of the screen and select "Reset Printing System".
Click the "Add" button and re-add your printer(s).
Gutenprint and usbtb Some users have been able to resolve printer communication issues by installing the excellent open-source Epson printer drivers available as part of the Gutenprint package (formerly known as Gimp-print) and usbtb, a CUPS back-end for USB printing.
Remove non-required drivers Removing extraneous drivers from /Library/Printers(name of manufacturer) can sometimes resolve printer issues. Remove files that are for other models than your own.
Re-install drivers Re-installation of printer drivers from original media or from a Web download (either directly through the manufacturers site or via a search by model/manufacturer on VersionTracker) can resolve some printer issues.
Try disconnecting from network In some cases, LAN-connected printer, seemingly broken by the Mac OS X update can restored to normal operation by simply disconnecting the device from the network then re-connecting it.
"Communicator Error" -- try power cycling If you receive a "Communication Error" message when attempting to print after updating to Mac OS X 10.4.5, the first workaround you should try is power cycling the printer, as well as disconnecting then re-connecting it to the Mac.
Connecting directly to the Mac If you are having printer problems and are using an external USB hub, try connecting the printer directly to your Mac.
One reader who had success with this method writes:
"Unfortunately the update to Mac OS X 10.4.6 has eliminated the ability to use my Lexmark Z600 series USB printer on my iMac G5 20" iSight (rev C).
"I resolved the problem via the following: I unplugged my external USB hub and plugged the printer directly to my computer."
Disconnect from AirPort and reset For those who are using printers connected to an AirPort Express, Extreme or another wireless device with USB connections, you might want to try the following:
Disconnect the printer from the AirPort unit (or other router)
    Wait a few minutes
    Plug it back in
    Restart the base station unit
Check for your printer to appear in AirPort Admin Utility (located in Applications/Utilities)
Print one copy In some cases, using print one copy instead of the standard print command can result in elimination of crashes that occur during printing.
Try IP printing instead of AppleTalk Some Macs are unable to see AppleTalk printers that are located on the local AirPort (or other wireless) network. Several users have been able to workaround this issue by using IP printing instead of AppleTalk.
Last resort -- Archive and Install As a last resort, try performing the somewhat tedious Archive and Install process, then re-upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.7. This has solved some otherwise inexplicable printer issues for MacFixIt readers.

  • Can't Print from Mac 10.9

I was able to print from my Apple computers to a networked HP DeskJet 3050a until recently. Now the computers cannot find the printer. I can still print from a windows computer on the same network. I have ran software updates and am current on everything. Does anybody have any ideas here or any updates from HP or Apple to solve printing to HP networked printers?

Try restarting your router.  If that does not work, reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

  • Can't print from MAC on network

HP PSC 1410 connected to a Lenovo running Windows Vista.  Printer is shared on the network.  Print job from MAC gets into print queue on Vista machine.  Status goes from Spooling to Printing but then goes to Error - Printing.  Can print from other Windows machines on the network.

    Hello @jerseyjim119!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
From what I understand it sounds like you are trying send the print job from the Mac to the printer shared through the Vista computer. From what I can find you can only share the printer with a Mac on the network using USB into a AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station.  Do you have your printer plugged into one of those Base Stations?  Here is a link regarding Setting Up Your HP Printer on a Network with Apple AirPort.
I am unable to locate any other way to share this printer on the network through a Windows operating system to a Mac computer and I am not too sure if that connection is supported.  For any further assistance I recommend contacting our phone support.  Please call our technical support at 1-800-474-6836. • Can't print from Mac to DeskJet D1530 over Linksys print server

The print job and printer both hang when trying to print to the DeskJet D1530.
I am using the drivers downloaded directly from HP and specifically for Snow Leopard.
When connected directly via USB, the printer installs itself and prints reliably.
However, this is a shared printer. The Mac has a wireless-G connection to a Linksys router, the router is connected to a Linksys print server via Ethernet. Then the printer is connected via USB to the print server.
I have 2 Windows laptops that print reliably via this configuration.
With the Mac, I configured it to use LPR over the IP address of the print server. It seems to connect to the print server and appears to be communicating with the printer. It even reports the ink levels in the cartridges. But when a print job is sent to the printer, the print status reports "Sending data file (0 bytes)" and the job just hangs unless a "cancel -a" is sent via terminal. It also prevents any other system from printing unless the printer and the print server are power cycled. I have occasionally coaxed a job out of the printer after the print server is power-cycled, however from the Mac's printer status, the job never completes and any subsequent print jobs will hang. I have to reboot the Mac to completely clear the print queue.
I have look online for instructions on configuring the printer, but all of them so far have yielded the same result.
This is not exactly an exotic setup, and it works with Windows systems. What am I doing wrong?

It usually comes as a surprise to Windows users that there are two kinds of print drivers on OS X. The older type are called monolithic drivers because they have everything in one package - postscript interpreter and communication device (USB) driver. With this type, the manufacturer gets to include exactly the components needed for the printer. The driver you got from HP is this type, and it is limited to USB Only.
To do network printing to a USB printer, you need a driver that allows more than just USB direct connection. You need a CUPS driver. One CUPS driver is Gutenprint, included in OS X by Apple. It may not include your model yet.
Get updated Gutenprint or hpijs drivers from:
    http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx
or a commercial CUPS driver, printfab from:

  • Can't print from Mac to epson nx300 on Win7, even with networkmagic

I've spent days going over forums and can't seem to get this working.
My main computer runs Win7 Home Premium x64 with an epson NX300 printer attached to it by USB. I have been able to print to it from another windows xp laptop.
I recently bought an iBook running OSX 10.5.8 and cannot for the life of me get it to find the printer on the network.
I've tried using SMB as outlined here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3049
and using LPD as outlined here http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7performance/thread/bd920e46-d beb-4bb2-a38e-8791facd0608
I run NetworkMagic on the Windows machines and also have it installed as trial on the ibook, and it says that the printer is not installed and I can't install it from there either. Called their tech support and they shrugged their shoulders.
I've downloaded drivers directly from epson as well.
When I try to add a printer from the "print & fax" window using the "Windows" button, it recognizes my workgroup and pc name but then says "connection failed"

Print Drivers on OS X aren't the same as on Windows...
You can't use an Epson driver made for USB-only Epson printers, because they wrote the driver to only work via USB. To use the CUPS Windows printer protocol, you need a driver written to use CUPS. The Gutenprint drivers Apple included in OS X are CUPS drivers. An update is here:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
If your specific model isn't yet supported, try other model drivers.

  • Found a fix for printing from Mac and PC using Airport Express!

I hope this helps somebody else because it's taken me hours and hours of frustration to trip over this solution. I have a MacBook, Airport Express and a Windows XP PC. Internet worked fine but I could not print form the PC via airport. I tied all the various links from iFelix (thanks to him for what sure seems like a lot of work to help others) but they didn't work. Here's what did...
To setup a printer using the Bonjour Printer Wizard:
    1. Download the Bonjour for Windows installation package from the
    Apple site http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bonjour/.
    2. Install Bonjour for Windows by launching the BonjourSetup.exe file from the folder where place it was downloaded.
    3. Start the Bonjour Printer Wizard either by clicking its icon on the desktop or by selecting Start -> Programs -> Bonjour -> Bonjour Printer Wizard.
    4. Follow the installation steps until the Install Bonjour Printer screen appears.
    5. In the Install Bonjour Printer screen, select Generic in the Manufacturer list and then Generic / Postscript in the Model list. This step is the same for any printer model you have.
    6. Follow the rest of installation steps.
The key is the Generic and Generic/Postscript settings. I also set up the Parallels program on my Mac. These instructions come from their documentation. It's the only thing I've found that works. Hope it helps some of you!

  • I can't print from laptop and I don't have disk

I changed interent companies yesterday. I reset up the wireless settings on my all-in-one eprint d110 series. The test report is perfect, up and running. I can print from the web apps on the printer display and even from my iPhone, but every time I try to print from my laptop it says the printers offline and won't print. I don't have the disk to reboot program. I don't know what else I can do and it's VERY frustrating because I can't print anything!! Please help?!?

I don't understand why it won't connect when it worked fine on other wireless connection. The old wireless contection was a personal wi-fi hot spot and now I have cable modem for wi-fi. It's way better in connection speed and more reliable then my previous hot spot. I would like to know how to turn my printer online to my laptop instead of it saying it's on 2 different networks when it's on the same network?

  • Firefox will not allow page printing since today's update. Why? I can still print from Thunderbird and I.E.

I think I received a Firefox up date today. Now when I try to print from any page on the browser I get a blank page. Thinking I was having a computer problem I reluctantly booted Internet Explorer. No problem printing. I went to Thunderbird and have not trouble printing any of my emails, so I think the problem is in Firefox. I have been a Firefox user for years and never had this problem. I am running Win XP

You're welcome. I look forward to the day that Mozilla writes all new print-related code so we don't have to deal with problems like this.

  • How can I print from Calendar and only show days with events?

There were several threads under iCal asking this question but never an answer. Basically, how can I print a list of selected events without getting all days with NO EVENT?
In my case, what I want is in one Calendar - so I just want to print that one.
    Thanks!

I see how to do this for a given month.  Sorry I thought incorrectly the solution above would work.
Open the month you would like to priint.  Do "Edit > Select All" from Calendar's menu (or command-A, which does the same thing).
Do File > Print > <Change view to Selected Events>.

  • Printing attached to windows workstation - can't print from mac

    Here is my setup:
I am trying to print to a Canon MF6500 printer attached via USB to a Windows XP Pro computer in a Windows 2003 SBS environment. I enabled Unix printing, set the printer up for sharing and installed the Mac driver on my computer. I went to "add printer," then "windows printing" and found the workstation with the target printer, however nothing was available to select.
I then added the printer to the server hoping that I could just share it from the server, but I got the same result - no printers to add.
So as a last ditch effort, I installed the 3rd party App DAVE. I opened the "Dave Printers List" and it actually found the printer, but I could not find the driver now. The Canon driver is in the list of drivers (as I can see it when searching for Bonjour/appletalk printers), but not there when searching for other printers. So I can add the printer, but I can only use a generic print driver.
Anyway, here is my question: How do I add the printer without using DAVE (if possible) with it's correct driver? If not possible, how do I add the printer using the correct driver with DAVE? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!
    Thanks

have you resolved your problem? Please forward me any tips that you may have received.
I have a new iMac with OS X V 10.4.10 - all software is up to date.
I have a HP OJ 7680 linked into my airport network through Bonjur. When I try to print, Word (and all other applications) tell me to select a printer, I select the HP OJ 7680 (designated as a Bonjur printer) and my iMac instantly tries to install the printer. After about 5 - 10 minutes the install fails.
Where can I get help on this? Doesn't apple offer any on-line or phone customer service?

  • Can't print from mac book pro to Ricoh Aficio MP C4500

Hello, today i started working in a new office, that uses a Ricoh Aficio MP C4500 printer and everyone in the office uses windows computers. I have a Mac Book Pro 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, on it, I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6.
When I have tried to print several different file types such as .pdf, .doc, .txt, etc. the printer prints out usually 20 pages that are all coded or blank and nothing similar to what i printed out. I'm guessing this is due to the printer not understanding the language of the data i send to it.I know that i am successfully connecting to the right printer.
I've visited several webpages that discuss how to fix the issue but none of them have worked.
I have tried downloading the mac osx 10.5 drivers from the Ricoh website(they didnt have 10.6) that didn't work and when i printed i still got all blank/coded pages.
Next I went I tried typing the the printer IP address to my browser url... that didn't help.
Next I went to the apple website and downloaded all of their mac osx 10.6 ricoh aficio drivers and when i printed i got all blank/coded pages again.
next i went and downloaded the "ghost script" "footmatic" and "pxlmono" and when i printed i got all blank/coded pages again.
all of the other webpages gave no other advice. Also, when printing each time i tried all of the different protocols, that didnt make a difference.
if you can advise, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like the printer does not have the optional PostScript module installed.
Next I went to the apple website and downloaded all of their mac osx 10.6 ricoh aficio drivers and when i printed i got all blank/coded pages again.
The drivers that are available from the Ricoh web site or are available from Apple only work when the PostScript module is installed.
next i went and downloaded the "ghost script" "footmatic" and "pxlmono" and when i printed i got all blank/coded pages again.
After you downloaded and installed the Ghostscript, Foomatic-RIP, and pxlmono drivers, did you delete your existing Ricoh print queues and create new print queues? Did you choose the driver that had pxlcolor in the title?
If the pxlmono/pxlcolor drivers do not work properly for you, you will need to have the IT person tell you what printer languages the printer can use. Alternatively, you can print a configuration page from the printer keypad that will print a sheet telling you what languages it can use.
