Can't print from my OfficeJet 6500A Plus using my HP Probook laptop with Windows 7

I have a new laptop HP ProBook Windows 7. I understand that Windows 8 or parts of it were removed prior to the sale of this laptop to me. It was new and purchased from Amazon via Circuit City. Since purchasing it, my husband and I are pulling our hair out trying to find out why it will not print. I use MyVerizon email and Google Chrome. Nothing prints. I've even tried registering with Yahoo mail. Nothing prints from there either. We have wireless. We've never had this problem before with any of our other laptops, all of which were HP. HELP PLEASE!!!!  We called HP printers but they want to charge us because our printer is out of warranty. But our HP laptop is NEW. What the heck is going on?? I've registered with HP eprint. I've registered with Snapfish. All have been "confirmed." Yet I STILL can't print.  Can anyone help?? My email is [email protected]  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you  are having so many problems with your printer/PC.
Have you downloaded the most recent printer drivers for your new laptop? If not you'll find them here:  Once your printer drivers are installed for your particular operating system, the printer should communicate with the laptop.
You mentioned something about parts of Windows 8 being removed from your Windows 7 laptop - I'm not sure if this is possible. My understanding is that it can't be a hybrid of two operating systems. It should be one or the other.  Please verify what operating system is installed on your laptop before downloading the corresponding drivers.
How e-print works is that you register and assign an e-mail address to your printer ([email protected]). You then forward any e-mails or file attahments that you want printed to [email protected] and it will print from your printer.
I've included some information on getting started with e-print here

how can i print from my hpofficejet 6500A Plus to my IPad? Windows 7

    Hi 1944-1948,
First, connect your printer to your router.
    1. From printer front panel, press Wireless>Wireless Settings>Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the onscreen instructions to successfully connect your printer with an IP address.
Secondly, connect your iPad to the same router.
    1. Connect your iPad to the Internet and download the free HP ePrint Home & Biz app from the apps store.
    2. Connect your iPad to the same network as the printer. Settings>Network.
    3. Use the new HP Home & Biz app to print and scan photos or docs from your iPad!
Alternatively, you can also perform Airprint on the iPad thru the wireless network from the Photos menu in your iPad.

  • Problems printing to HP officejet 6500A plus e-All-in-one printer e710n

    Hi,
I am struggling to print to my " HP officejet 6500A plus e-All-in-one printer e710n". According to the setup network test (Wireless network test report), everything is successful (status "PASS" for all fields).  I also checked that the IP configured is the same as the IP displayed on the printer when i push the wireless button (updated via "Update IP address").
I have a laptops as well as netbooks connected to the wireless network. All these devices could previously print, however now none of them can. When i run the diagnostics (both the standard trouble shooter, as well as the one from microsoft when clicking on the fixit option), no problems are detected. When checking the device manager, i can see no conflicts.
When i open the printer control panel and click on "Customize your printer" and then go to "Ports" and click on  the "configure port" option, i get an error "An error occurred during port configuration. Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000007b).".
    Please assist with any suggestions.

I was able to resolve the problem.
I reinstalled the printer on one of my other laptops (this might have cleared up an error on the printer). I think the true problem is related to the fact that we left the printer on, we've started switching it off when not in use. Even though it goes into sleep mode, it seems to cause problems over time if not switched off on the printer itself.
The basics i did was check the network connection, printed a status of the network connectivity (you can do that from your control panel on the printer). If the network looks good, then try leaving your printer off for an hour or so, if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the printer on your device and start switching it off after use. I know it sounds crazy, but that's what i've been doing and haven't had a problem since.
It was a strange problem, in some cases i wasn't able to see the printer from devices that previously could, when the devices that could see the printer tried to print, it would print okay for a few pages and then start printing garbage, followed by failing completely and cancelling the print. When this happened there would be an error on the device saying it cannot connect to the printer, even though it could at the start of print.

  • I can not print from a website I get using Foxfire although I can print from an Internet Explorer website.

When I try to print I get a window that asks me to "Save file as downloads" - xps. I try and it says that an unknown error occurred while printing. Epson says it is not my printer as I can print from Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Microsoft Works. Do I need some sort of download before I can print with Foxfire? Many thanks.

  • Can't print from a network computer to my HP Deskjet D2680 on a Windows 7 computer

I have an HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer connected to my HP desktop computer via a USB cable.  The computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).  I downloaded the current software and drivers from Hp (364 MB).  I can print to this printer from any other computer on my home network.   So far, so good.
Now the problem.  I also have an HP Deskjet D2680 printer connected to the same HP desktop computer above via a USB cable.   I downloaded the current software and drivers from Hp (101 MB i think).   I can print to the D2680 from the HP computer, but I cannot print to the computer from any computer on the network.  The print request does not generate an error.  Nothing happens.  No print job shows up in the print queue on the HP desktop computer.
When I add the D2680 as a network printer on any of my other computers, the D2680 printer is seen.  The Add Printer function knows that the printer it is a D2680 printer and sets up the correct printer driver.  Everything appears fine, but I just can't print to it from any network computer.
I then tried to add the D2680 as a local port... no luck.  I identify it as \\ computer-name \ share-name, where computer-name is the name of the HP computer, and share-name is the name assigned to the D2680 when I shared the printer.  On the HP computer, user passwords are turned off and all sharing options are turned on.  I also modified the D2680 security to allow full access from NETWORK.   When I ty to create the local port... Access Denied.
Does the D2680 support network printing?  If not, why? If not, someone from HP should be demoted to the mail room for that decision.  If so, it is not working.  So what do I do?  Take a sledge hammer to it, then go buy another printer?
So much for plug and play.   It's more like plug and cry.
Thanks in advance for your suppprt.
    David

I found a thread about the HP Print & Scan Doctor software tool. I downloaded and ran it.  It detected a conflict with the D2680 driver / software, so I uninstalled the driver / software.  I then reran the software install, and now everything works fine.

  • Can't print from my IBM

I've spent the last couple of days reviewing similar posts, and tried suggestions within with no success. Here's my problem:
I have an older iMac running 10.3.9 wirelessly connected to the internet with an Airport Extreme I picked up about a year ago. Recently I decided to run my printer through the Airport. My Mac found the printer with no problem, and prints just fine.
I also have an IBM ThinkPad, running Windows XP. I have no trouble, after initial setup headaches, getting the ThinkPad to find the network and get online, but I can't print from the ThinkPad.
I used Bonjour to find the printer, an hp deskjet 940c, and the setup seemed to work. (I used the manufacturer's disk for the driver.) But everytime I try to print I get: "this document failed to print" error message. The ThinkPad is connected to the network and online.
I also wish the ThinkPad could find the iMac. Is this wishful thinking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but now I'm so close.
I can print from the IBM thanks to ifelix.
I can get files off the IBM onto my iMac, again after using ifelix's guide.
I can't get the IBM to find the iMac.
Here's where I'm stuck: stage 6 of his guide: http://tech.ifelix.net:80/3001.html
I type in the address of this network place, which I confirmed in my iMac under "sharing" and then I'm prompted with a window titled "Connect to 10.0.1.3" It wants me to enter User name and password. I've tried both for the iMac and the Thinkpad and neither work. The window disappears and then quickly returns having added the prefix "10.0.1.3\" to the user name. I've tried using the iMac username and shortname. Nothing works, I can't get past that password / user name window to the "What do you want to name this place?" screen.
    Any suggestons?

  • How do i print from my ipad to the officejet 6500a plus?

I read there may be something else required. I want to print directly to the Officejet 6500A Plus. Apple says ths is an Air Print printer capable of doing that. I'm not taking this monster out of the box until I know it will do what I want without a lot of trouble. Thanks.
    This question was solved.

Ok, so you were talking about needing the update.  It's hard to say as it all depends upon if it came with the new firmware or not.  It is not really relevent, however, since it will update itself upon enabling Web Services.  This process takes only a few minutes.  There is no computer necessary for the firmware update as long as the printer has internet access (i.e. connected directly to a router via either ethernet or wireless).  Yes, with an ad hoc connection, you will be able to print from the iPad, but you would have to use its 3G connection as opposed to going through your router.  It can only support a single wifi connection also.  Go ahead and set up the printer and keep me posted as to what happens.
BTW - What is the issue with your PC that it cannot access the internet?

  • My iPhone and my iPad are connected by wi-fi, but I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC. What can I do?

Hallo, thank you for trying to help. Here is my problem:
In the past, the airprint was possible without problems from iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Since today it doesn't work anymore. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 is connected by wi-fi and I can serve in the internet. But I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC.
There are low ink-levels and therefore a message comes to indicate this by printing from PC. iPhone and iPad are accepting the print order without any messages after, but does't excecute the print.
    What can I do?

    Hey helmut,
You can also try the ePrint method listed here if you can't get AirPrint working:

    nicahermosa42,
There are a few ways to print from your Android phone to your HP printer.
Send an email from your phone to your printer's ePrint address (ex. [email protected]).
Download the HP ePrint Home and Biz app from the Android Market to print photos and documents to your HP printer over your wireless network or through ePrint.
If you need assistance with either method of printing, please post again.

  • Wireless configuration for HP OfficeJet 6500A plus All-In-One printer on Ubuntu 10.04

I have bought a HP OfficeJet 6500A plus All-In-One printer CN557A, which I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64-bit as a wireless network printer.
Before i bought i checked compatibility on www.hplipopensource.org and www.openprinting.org, and all was in order.
The machine is autodetected and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but i have not managed to get it to work as a wireless printer.
    This is what I did:
I configured the printer on the wireless network (through the printer interface), and it connects. It prints out a "Wireless Network Test Report", and everything works. I can ping to its local ip adress, and access it through the browser. HP eprint also works.
I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognise the device.
I ran 'hp-check', which gave no errors or warnings:

supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
    3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode

I then ran 'sudo hp-setup', chose the device (which was detected), chose my wireless network, entered the wireless security key. On the configuration results dialog I get two messages:
"Your printer has been succesfully configured on the wireless network. You may now unplug the USB cable"
    and
"The Ethernet cable is plugged in which will prevent you from connecting to a wireless network. To connect wirelessly, remove the cable and try again. (VSA000)"
There is no ethernet cable plugged in, so i can't remove it. I unplug the USB cable and click 'finish'. This makes the 'hp-setup'-dialog start over again, and the printer has not been installed.

    This question was solved.

A friendly soul on ubuntuforums pointed out to me, that the wireless configuration is only necessary when the printer is NOT connected to a (W)LAN. So all I really had to do was to configure the printer in the CUPS administation page, and it worked. Problem solved. Silly me.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus e All in One Printer E710n-z

I have the HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus E710n-z series for All-In-One Printer.  I lost my driver software disk together with the PC computer that had the  software driver installed in it.
I now have the Printer and my current PC ( which is using Wins 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System).
I have found the download link for the driver software from HP website and from the internet. Each time I download the driver software, there was a "cancel" or "unable to proceed" message at the almost end of the download process. I was told to "retry".
My humble request is to have the driver software files so that I can install the driver and operate the printer. My PC is functioning as it can detect correctly the Printer with its correct name and model.
I donot know the problems. Is it a virus?
Alternatively, I greatly appreciate if you could email to me the driver software files.( Please use Google Cloud if the files are too big).
    Thank you for helping me.
    Best regards.

Since you have 10.10, you will first need to install this: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X. With that installed, follow the steps to add a printer here: Installing Your HP Printer Driver and Software for Mac OS X.
